  • Patent number: 5099668
Abstract: A universal plying iron is described, consisting of a base plate with a mold support positioned on bracket supports in such a way as to match the contour and mold level of the section to be bent on the base plate, the section to be bent, in the form of a bending template, being bent by means of mold rollers around a section support projecting from the mold support. For the universal application of the plying iron, without the need for involved modification of the bending molds, the bracket supports are positioned in adjustable fashion on the base plate and tension elements are provided on the bracket supports, which tension elements stress the mold support and simultaneously carry the section support, and can be adjusted to the desired height.

  • Patent number: 5100748
Abstract: The invention relates to a structure of a positive electrode possessing improved electrical capacity and intended for electrochemical generators working with a liquid electrolyte. It comprises, on the one hand, a metallic collector of high porosity, in particular of the non-woven fibrous type or of the isotropic, cross-linked type of open porosity and, on the other hand, a nickel hydroxide-based active material filling in part the pores of the collector and containing cobalt. This structure is characterized by a heterogeneous dispersion of the cobalt within the active material.

  • Patent number: 5099751
Abstract: A decontamination chamber entranceway to an asbestos removal work area includes rigid swinging doors for a rapid escape from the contaminated work area due to an emergency such as a fire or smoke. Also during a power failure it is easy for the workers to leave the work area through the rigid swinging doors of the invention. Each of the doors may include an air inlet opening having at least one plastic flap covering the inlet opening which allows suitable amounts of air to flow through the inlet to maintain a negative air pressure in the work area while having air flow in the work area sufficient to change the air at least every 10 to 15 minutes. The plastic flaps of the doors are preferable pivotally-mounted rigid clear plastic which seal automatically upon loss of negative air pressure in the work area. The rigid flaps can be electro-mechanically operated to positively control size and functioning of air inlet openings and close off the openings upon emergency conditions.

  • Patent number: 5101434
Abstract: A voice recognition system for time encoded speech (TES). The TES coded stream is divided into time frames. Each time frame is fed to a number of seeker circuits, each seeker circuit being optimized to detect an acoustic event of the voice signals, such as voiced or unvoiced events, amplitude or silence (ambient noise). Segmentation boundaries in the TES symbol stream are then determined from the acoustic events sensed as present or absent. These events are compared with stored events to determine the voice signals. By using this parallel comparison technique, comparison is made using distinct boundaries determined from the voice signal content and not by arbitrary boundaries which may contain acoustic events from, for example, more than one word in the voice signals. The implementation of the TES recognizer in low cost complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology makes this parallel comparison technique feasible at a reasonable cost.
