The Faraday shield assembly includes alignment features that may be employed to provide mechanical registration and/or electrical coupling of the Faraday shield assembly. The spectrophotometric sensor may be placed on a patient's finger, toe, ear, and so forth to obtain hemoglobin oxygen saturation using pulse oximetry, or for other physiological measurements.
Abstract: A method for creating structures in a semiconductor assembly is provided. The method includes etching apertures into a dielectric layer and applying a polymer layer over the dielectric layer. The polymer layer is applied uniformly and fills the apertures at different rates depending on the geometry of the apertures, or on the presence or absence of growth accelerating material. The polymer creates spacers for the etching of additional structure in between the spacers. The method is capable of achieving structures smaller than current lithography techniques.

Each of the plurality of socket contacts comprises a body and at least two members extending from the body towards a pin-receiving end and separated by longitudinal slots. Each of the members has a tapered cross-section thicker towards an end adjacent to the body than towards a distal end through which the socket contact receives a mating pin.

Abstract: A line scanning arrangement for imaging microarrays includes a line illuminator that converts output from one or more lasers to a radiation line. The laser output passes through a single mode fiber and a module that converts the laser light to the radiation line. The line is confocally directed to sites on the microarray, and retrobeams returned from the sites are collected on an imaging detector. The microarray is moved in the imaging apparatus so as to progressively illuminate an array or matrix of sites for imaging.
Abstract: Provided herein are techniques for screening materials for hemocompatibility. Hemocompatible materials may be advantageous when incorporated into devices that may come into direct contact with blood or other bodily fluids. Such techniques take advantage of conformational changes in fibrinogen when adsorbed onto certain materials. As a result of conformational changes, the fibrinogen has altered responsiveness to cleavage by thrombin. Accordingly, the products of thrombin cleavage of fibrinogen may be assessed to determine the hemocompatibility of a material.
Abstract: A laryngeal mask includes an airway conduit, and a mask connected to the airway conduit, the mask that includes an inflatable portion. An inflation lumen is coupled to the inflatable portion of the mask as well as an inflation valve. The inflation valve includes an exterior housing that has an exit aperture and a stem that is movable between an open position and a closed position. A vent clip is removably coupled to the inflation valve and includes a body portion, an exterior housing interface portion extending from the body portion and a finger extending from the body portion. The exterior housing interface portion includes a gripping surface which is formed to contact at least an approximately 90 degree portion of the inflation valve exterior housing and the finger maintains the inflation valve in an open position.
Abstract: A two stroke engine of a particular configuration can have its power output increased by running bigger pistons and using ports in the piston skirt through which to conduct compressed air within the skirt through short passages in the cylinder housing that conduct the air from within the skirt to above the piston. As a result a larger piston can be used for the same spacing and opening size in the block to save the need to redesign the block and the crankshaft. A position adjuster for the piston moves it axially without rotation of the piston ports out of alignment with inlet ports in the housing. The piston rod is held in the crosshead using a flat to prevent rotation while an adjuster nut that is turned creates axial movement in the piston rod with a lock nut securing the final piston position.
Abstract: Methods, systems, computer readable media and means for reducing errors in data caused by noise are provided. In some embodiments of the present invention, circuitry of the device receives timing data from one or more other circuitries and identifies noiseless periods from the timing data. The circuitry then actively adjusts the trigger point threshold of data being transmitted to and/or from the circuitry only during the noiseless periods. The circuitry subsequently monitors the timing data to identify noise periods. In response to identifying a noise period, the device ceases to adjust the trigger point threshold until the noise period is over.
Abstract: A system and method for inductively heating a work piece. The induction heating system is coupleable to a plurality of temperature feedback devices operable to provide a signal representative of work piece temperature. The induction heating system is operable to control the output of the induction heating system based on the plurality of signals representative of work piece temperature received from the plurality of temperature feedback devices.

Abstract: Techniques for fabricating multiple device components. Specifically, techniques for fabricating a stacked package comprising at least one I/C module and a multi-chip package. The multi-chip package includes a plurality of integrated circuit dices coupled to a carrier. The dice are encapsulated such that conductive elements are exposed through the encapsulant. The conductive elements are electrically coupled to the chips. The I/C module comprises an interposer having a plurality of integrated circuit dice disposed thereon. The dice of the I/C module are electrically coupled to the interposer via bondwires. The interposer is configured such that vias are aligned with the conductive elements on the multi-chip package. The multi-chip package and I/C module may be fabricated separately and subsequently coupled together to form a stacked package.
Abstract: At least one metric for a mammographic image is computed by a workstation, and provided on a workstation display along with the mammographic image. A clinician can select one or more different metrics to be computed for an image, as well as where they are to be shown and the manner in which they are to be shown on the display. Speech (may also be an audible sound which is not speech) may also be used in the workstation to audibly provide metrics information to the clinician.

Abstract: A system for the efficient utilization of plasma torch post arc cooling gas includes a controller configured to automatically determine a post arc gas flow duration. The controller monitors a plasma arc parameter associated with a temperature of the plasma torch at arc termination. The controller dynamically determines the duration of post arc gas flow through the torch from the plasma arc parameter.

Further, provided is an electromagnetic tracking system, comprising an electromagnetic coil arrangement, at least one complementary electromagnetic sensor and a processor configured to process a signal comprising data indicative of a mutual inductance between the at least one complementary electromagnetic sensor and each of the set of the electromagnetic sensors of the electromagnetic coil arrangement. Also, provided are a method of tracking and a method of manufacturing an electromagnetic coil arrangement.
Abstract: A technique is disclosed for placing markers on digital radiographic images, such as projection X-ray and tomosynthesis images. A tag encoding data is disposed on or near a component of a radiographic imaging system, such as on a digital detector. The tag is read during an imaging session, and human readable indicia for the marker is generated that can be permanently included in the resulting images or displayed when desired, such as in an overlay.
Abstract: A venting system is described for use with electrical enclosures in which hot gasses may be generated by certain types of fault. The venting assembly may be mounted to a surface of the enclosure, such as adjacent to an aperture formed in the enclosure door. The vent assembly includes a series of louvers that divert all gasses flowing from the enclosure and provide no direct path for gas. The vent assembly thus provides unimpeded flow of hot gasses during a fault event to divert and cool the gasses before exiting the enclosure. The vent assembly may be configured as a cartridge-type insert mounted either inside or outside the enclosure.
