Abstract: A system and method of repairing a pipe including securing a reinforcing material, such as a dry fiber structure (e.g., a carbon fibers) to the surface of the pipe. A polymeric material is placed on top of the reinforcing material, self-penetrating the dry fiber structure. The polymeric material substantially saturates the reinforcing material and cures to form a reinforced polymeric composite which may increase or restore the pressure rating or operating pressure capacity of the pipe. Optionally, an outer containment component, such as a sleeve, shell, box, wall, outer pipe, and so on, may be installed around the reinforcing material prior to introduction of the polymeric material. In this case, the polymeric material may be placed (i.e., poured) into the interior of the containment component on top of the reinforcing material.

The data gathering apparatus further comprises a sensing device configured to receive power from the power generation device and to sense at least one property of the rail, wherein the property of the rail is at least partially defined by a vehicle traveling on the rail.

Abstract: A two dimensional (2D) collimator assembly and a detector system employing a 2D collimator assembly. More specifically, a collimator assembly is provided, having elements extending in the x and z-planes of a detector system. Abstract: The present technique relates to a method and apparatus for managing voltage buses. In a memory device, such as SRAM or DRAM, a periphery voltage bus may supply voltage to periphery circuitry and an array voltage bus may supply voltage to array circuitry. A bridge circuit may be utilized to isolate the buses from each other and couple the buses together, depending on the control signals are received by the bridge circuit. As such, the bridge circuit enhances the operation of the memory device by reducing duplicative circuits and equalizing the voltage that are applied to the buses. In addition, the bridge circuit isolates the buses from each other to protect sensitive circuitry in the array and periphery circuitry from noise on the other bus.
Abstract: In accordance with certain embodiments, the present technique includes a system for sealing a lamp including a thermal shield and a thermally susceptible enclosure disposed adjacent the thermal shield. The thermal shield has a first receptacle adapted to receive a first portion of the lamp. The thermally susceptible enclosure comprises a wall about a second receptacle adapted to receive a second portion of the lamp. The wall has a varying thickness in a desired sealing region between the first and second portions of the lamp.

Abstract: A fuel cell stack assembly includes at least a first fuel cell and a second fuel cell electrically coupled together such that at least one sealed passage extends between the first and second fuel cells. Each of the fuel cells includes at least one hollow manifold that includes a wall extending between a first end and a second end. Each wall defines a chamber therein, and includes at least one opening extending therethrough in flow communication with the chamber. The fuel cell stack assembly also includes at least one fuel cell isolation device coupled in flow communication with each fuel cell hollow manifold. The at least one fuel cell isolation device is variably positionable during fuel cell stack assembly operation for selectively stopping fluid flow through at least one of the fuel cells.

Abstract: A memory system and method according to various aspects of the present invention comprises a memory and an adaptive timing system for controlling access to the memory. The adaptive timing system captures data in a data valid window (DVW) in a data signal. In one embodiment, the adaptive timing system comprises a delay circuit for sampling the data signal at a midpoint of the DVW. The adaptive timing system may also comprise an identifying circuit for identifying whether the midpoint of the DVW corresponds to an actual midpoint of the DVW and adjusting the delay circuit accordingly.
Abstract: A technique is provided for securely generating reports for biomedical equipment in a medical institution. Equipment data is collected, manually or automatically. The data is stored in a centralized database operating in a secure processing space, such as at a service provider location. The database is accessed periodically, or upon request, to generate data files for report generation. The data accessed may be used to derive or calculate other data for the reports, such at trending data, equipment counts, comparisons, and so forth. The data file is then exported through a firewall to a second processing space. The report is compiled in the second processing space, and is formatted in accordance with a report template, such as for transmission to the medical institution. An additional firewall separates the second processing space from intrusion, but permits the report to be accessed by the institution via a network such as the Internet.
Abstract: A method of forming a channel in a semiconductor device including forming an opening in a masking layer to expose a portion of an underlying semiconductor layer through the opening is provided. The method further includes disposing a screening layer and implanting a first type of ions in the portion of the underlying semiconductor layer through the screening layer and through the opening in the masking layer. A second type of ions are implanted in the portion of the underlying semiconductor layer through the screening layer and through the opening in the masking layer at an oblique ion implantation angle wherein a lateral spread of second type ions is greater than a lateral spread of first type ions. Semiconductor devices fabricated in accordance to above said method is also provided.

We also disclose a container comprising a container structure and a shrink label in contact with the container structure's exterior surface. Abstract: Briefly in accordance with one embodiment, the present technique provides a multi-energy tomosynthesis imaging system. The system includes an X-ray source configured to emit X-rays from multiple locations within a limited angular range relative to an imaging volume. Abstract: The reconfigurable ultrasound array disclosed herein is one that allows groups of subelements to be connected together dynamically so that the shape of the resulting element can be made to match the shape of the wave front. This can lead to improved performance and/or reduced channel count. Reconfigurability can be achieved using a switching network. A methodology and an algorithm are disclosed that allows the performance of this switching network to be improved by properly choosing the configuration of the switching network.

Abstract: A system for connecting multiple pipe lines includes a plurality of multi-port selector valves. Each valve includes a valve body having an inlet port module that includes a body adapted to connect to a fluid source and an outlet port module having a body with at least two outlet ports. Each of the outlet ports may connect to an outlet fluid destination. A port selector rotatably disposed in the valve body includes a rotatable member having a flow path there through that has a path inlet and a path outlet. The path outlet has a second flow direction substantially parallel to said first flow direction with an angle of less than 90 degrees to the first flow direction. An offset portion disposed between the first flow direction and the second flow direction has a longitudinal flow direction. An outlet valve line is adapted to connect one of the at least two outlet ports of a first valve of the plurality of valves to the inlet port of another of the plurality of valves.
