  • Patent number: 5402991
Abstract: A tube connector utilized in connecting a drip tube to a header pipe in a heap leach mining percolation system which provides for strength at the normally weak connection between the header pipe and the drip tube. The tube connector includes a housing providing a fluid passageway extending therethrough between a header pipe and a drip tube. A nipple section is formed at one end of the housing for accommodating the drip tube therearound which is of a relatively short length, and hence, a relatively short bending movement, to significantly reduce breakage of the connector during transportation.

  • Patent number: 5402605
Abstract: An assembly for converting a conventional drill press into an oscillating spindle sander is disclosed. The oscillating spindle sander assembly is comprised of an auxiliary motor which is adapted to be mounted on a drill press. An eccentric drive is attached to the rotating shaft of the auxiliary motor and is used to drive a push rod in a lateral reciprocating motion. The opposite end of the push rod is attached to one of the spindle spokes of the drill press, and causes it to move in a radially reciprocating motion which induces the drill press spindle, drill chuck and a sanding tool mounted therein, to move up and down in an oscillating motion. The oscillating spindle sander assembly of the invention can be easily disabled and the converted drill press returned to normal operation by removing the push rod from the spindle spoke of the drill press.

  • Patent number: 5371995
Abstract: A carton loading system has a carton carrier movable along a carton carrier support track driven by a continuous conveyor. The continuous conveyor has a first path segment in which the continuous conveyor drives the carton carrier along the track while a carton is placed into the carton carrier from a carton storage magazine by a carton transfer device. The continuous conveyor also has a second segment with a first portion arranged such that the conveyor is disengaged from the carton carrier to allow the carrier to a stop, permitting loading of the carton. At the loading station an accumulator may be positioned to load the carton. The second portion of the second segment is such that conveyor re-engages the carton carrier so that the carton carrier moves again along the track. The carton may be discharged from the carton carrier while the carton carrier moves along the track. The system may be adapted to provide for adjustable components such that cartons of differing depths can be accommodated.

  • Patent number: 5355638
Abstract: A centrifugal finisher having an outer vessel and at least one inner vessel includes a traction surface between the inner surface of the outer vessel and the outer surface of each inner vessel. The inner vessels revolve about the axis of the outer vessel, and rotate about their own internal axes. The traction surface permits the outer wall to restrain the inner vessels and simultaneously causes the rotation of the inner vessels through interaction with the outer vessel, which can be stationary or moving at a different rotational speed and/or at a different rotational direction than the part which revolves the inner vessels.

  • Patent number: 5295330
Abstract: A centrifugal disk finisher includes a porous layer at the bottom of the vertical wall of the containment vessel. A pressurized fluid, preferably air, is forced through the porous layer so as to form a fluid bearing between the bottom of the porous layer and the spinning disk enclosed within the containment vessel. The containment vessel is levitated above the spinning disk by a small amount due to the presence of the fluid bearing, so that the disk spins without any contact with the containment vessel, thus reducing wear. The fluid bearing also acts as a seal, which repels particles from the interface between the disk and the porous layer due to the small height of the fluid bearing and its imperviousness to all but the most energetic particles.
