Abstract: A sanitary fitting contains a closing component (9) which can be moved to vary the quantity of water flowing. A movement brake (23, 24) is provided to prevent excessively fast closing speeds. A spring component (35) is provided in the transmission path (16, 20, 21) between the handle which the user holds and the closing component (9). Through this spring component it is possible for the movement of the handle to be decoupled from the movement of the closing component (9) under the effect of the brake (23, 24) so that very fast movements of the handle are not followed and that, instead, the closing component moves with a time delay and below a permitted maximum speed (FIG. 3).

Abstract: A ferroelectric liquid crystal composition is here provided which contains at least one chiral compound having an optical activity site group represented by the general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a straight-chain or branched alkyl group or alkoxy group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and * indicates an asymmetric carbon atom, and at least one non-chiral compound having a smectic C phase, a smectic I phase, a smectic F phase, a smectic G phase, a smectic H phase, a smectic J phase or a smectic K phase. This composition has quick response properties and assumes an SC* phase in an extensive temperature range inclusive of room temperature. Furthermore, by using this composition, an optical switching element having quick responsiveness can be obtained.

Abstract: The present invention is connected with a process for preparing a novel photosensitive polyimide precursor having excellent shelf stability and high sensitivity and containing less impurities.The process for preparing a photosensitive heat-resistant polymer containing a repeating unit represented by the formula (III) comprises the step of reacting a photosensitive group-containing isoimide represented by the formula (I) with a diamine represented by the formula (II) at a temperature of 0.degree. to 100.degree. Abstract: A moist mixture of plaster of Paris and fibres is produced due to the fact that before mixing with the fibres, a considerable quantity of water is supplied to the plaster of Paris, which leads to a moisture content of the plaster of Paris of up to 22% by weight (with respect to the dry substance). With this moisture content, the plaster of Paris is indeed no longer stable in storage in an unrestricted manner; however, it remains free from lumps for a certain processing time and can be mixed with the fibres in a high speed, continuous mixer. The moist mixture of plaster of Paris and fibres obtained in this way is intended as an initial product in the manufacture of fibre-reinforced moulded plaster bodies, in particular of fibre-reinforced plaster boards. It contains the water necessary fort setting in the most homogeneous distribution and in a precise dose (FIG. 1).

Abstract: A cylinder lock has an external cylinder member and an internal cylinder member inserted in the external member. Further it has an elevatable plate provided with its lower end protruding in a key slot axially formed in the internal cylinder member and a stopper placed on the top arc periphery of the elevatable plate. A key adapted to be used exclusively for exchanging or removing the internal cylinder member is used in a situation that the key is lost and another key having another key code is necessary to use in place of the old key. When the lock is to be opened, the key to be exclusively used to remove the internal cylinder member is inserted into the key slot and the elevatable plate is raised together with the stopper, so that the stopper is disengaged from the internal cylinder member.
Abstract: An aqueous solution containing sulphur dioxide and sodium in high percentages is obtained by bringing sulphur dioxide into contact with a recirculating aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and previously absorbed sulphur dioxide to obtain a ratio between SO.sub.2 and the sum of SO.sub.2 and Na.sub.2 O of 0.61-0.66, preferably 0.63-0.65, and a concentration of SO.sub.2 and Na.sub.2 O amounting to 85-98%, preferably about 95% of the solubility maximum of the solution at the ratio and storage temperature in question.The invention also relates to a solution having the aforesaid ratio of SO.sub.2 /(SO.sub.2 +Na.sub.2 O) and concentation and its use for sulphite cooking purposes or for bleaching purposes.
Abstract: An apparatus for drawing a pre-selectable quantity of liquid, in particular a quantity of water, comprises an input device, at which the respectively desired quantity of liquid to be delivered automatically can be fed in. Abstract: An installation for etching objects comprises at least one etching machine, in which metal is etched from the treated objects, the etching medium being enriched with metal. The etching medium is regenerated again in several electrolytic cells by the removal of metal. The electrolytic cells are brought into operation successively in adaptation to different instantaneous etching capacities of the etching machine ("loads"). This takes place by means of a device, which integrates the quantity of the enriched etching medium removed from the etching machine, over a predetermined period of time. A certain limit value of this integral is associated with each electrolytic cell; if this limit value is exceeded, the corresponding electrolytic cell is activated. In this way, the total capacity of the respective electrolytic cells in operation is adapted to the instantaneous load of the etching machine.
Abstract: The present invention concerns novel compounds having the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are selected form the group consisting of hydrogen or lower alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms, wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together with the N atom can also form a ring having 2-5 carbon atoms and wherein n is 0, 1 or 2, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.The compounds according to the invention are useful as anticancer agents.
