  • Patent number: 7365876
Abstract: In a method for generating a color match between a target object having a plurality of different target color values and a source object, a target color space with target color locations to be correlated with target color values is generated for the target object. For the source object, a source color space having a plurality of source color locations is generated, wherein the source color locations are correlated with a source color value, respectively. For each target color location a position in the vicinity of a similar source color location is determined within the source color space. The spacing of this position from the similar source color location is determined, and, based on the spacing, the source color value correlated with the similar source color location is changed.

  • Patent number: 7363958
Abstract: The invention relates to a continuous casting mould for liquid metals, especially for liquid steel, comprising steel charging plates (2) which are surrounded by water reservoirs (1), cassette-type copper plates (3) arranged against the same, end plates (7), if needed, for the thickness and/or the width of the cast billet, and coolant channels (9). The aim of the invention is to take measures to counteract the high temperatures in the meniscus region (13) using appropriate embodiments of the copper plates (3) and/or the steel charging plates (2). To this end, the thickness (10) of the copper plates (3) between the coolant (11) and the hot side (3a) of the copper plates varies along the width (2×L) and/or in terms of the height (12).

  • Patent number: 7361224
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for hot dip coating metal strands (1), particularly strip steel, in which the metal strand (1) can be vertically guided through a reservoir (3), which accommodates the molten coating metal (2), and though a guide channel (4) connected upstream therefrom. An electromagnetic inductor (5) is mounted in the area of the guide channel (4) and in order to retain the coating metal (2) inside the reservoir (3), can induce induction currents in the coating metal (2) by means of an electromagnetic blocking field. While interacting with the electromagnetic blocking field, said induction currents exert an electromagnetic force. In order to prevent an intense heating of the metal strand caused by the electromagnetic inductor, the invention provides that the inductor (5, 5a, 5b) is connected to electric power supply means (6) that supply the inductor with an alternating current whose frequency (f) is less than 500 Hz. In particular, a mains frequency of 50 Hz is intended.

  • Patent number: 7357011
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for producing metal strip (1) in an installation (2), in which a metal strand, especially a thin slab, is brought to a desired temperature and/or is maintained at a desired temperature in a furnace (3, 3a, 3b) and is subjected to a rolling process in a rolling train (4) downstream of the furnace (3, 3a, 3b) in the direction of conveyance (R) of the metal strand (1). In accordance with the invention, to prevent the formation of scale deposits in the downstream region of the furnace, provision is made for the metal strand (1) to be subjected to at least one descaling operation during its residence time in the region (5) of the furnace (3, 3a, 3b). In addition, the invention concerns an installation for producing metal strip.

  • Patent number: 7354252
Abstract: A pressure intensifier for fluids has an intensifier piston with a high-pressure piston and a low-pressure piston having a greater diameter than the high-pressure piston. The pistons are moveable in a high-pressure cylinder and a low-pressure cylinder, respectively, and move together. The high-pressure cylinder is connected to a high-pressure connection. A first control line is connected to a supply connector. A second control line is connected to a control valve having first and second switching positions. A first connection connects the control lines. The low-pressure cylinder is connected via the control valve in the first switching position to a supply connector and in the second switching position to a return connector. The switching positions are controlled by the intensifier piston. The intensifier piston opens or closes the first connection between the control lines. The first connection is arranged completely within a movement stroke of the high-pressure piston.

  • Patent number: 7350454
Abstract: A cylinder unit for mounting on a machine for the deformation of workpieces includes a cylinder block and a pressure plate which is arranged on the surface of the cylinder block which faces away from the fastening surface, wherein a plurality of pistons each having a spherically shaped head are mounted in the cylinder block. Mounted on each spherically shaped head of the pistons is a pressure piece which protrudes into a bore of the pressure plate and has a recess corresponding to the spherically shaped head of the pistons. A gap is provided between the outer diameter of the pressure piece and the inner diameter of the bore in the pressure plate. A pressure disc is arranged between the pressure piece and the pressure plate in the bottom of the bore of the pressure plate.

  • Patent number: 7344259
Abstract: The invention relates to a spoke (1) which exhibits reflective and/or luminescent properties. Said properties are produced in such a way that a surface (13) of the spoke is covered with a film (7) which is provided with a reflective and/or luminescent covering on the side opposite the surface. The film is removed from a roll and separated into appropriate pieces. An adhesive provided on the film is provided with a protective layer before being applied to the spoke, said protective layer being removed before processing. The adhesive is pressed between the film and the surface of the spoke in order to ensure lasting placement of the film on the spoke.

  • Patent number: 7341290
Abstract: According to the invention, when the door is locked, a locking part (10) is displaced into a rotary latch (20), which is first pivoted from its open position into a preliminary detent position. The rotary latch (20) is spring-loaded (25) in the direction of its open position and is usually supported on a catch (30) by means of an initial detent section (21). The rotary latch (20) is then rotated further by means of a motor-driven closing aid with the aid of a drive mechanism (53) and an eccentric element (50), until it reaches a primary detent position, in which the catch (30) rests on a primary detent section of the rotary latch (20). To obtain a reliable lock that can be universally used, a toggle-joint lever pair (40) and a spring-loaded follower (33) are provided between the eccentric element (50) and the rotary latch (20).
