Patent number: 7732122Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing photonic crystals by first providing an inorganic photoresist which, on illumination with energy greater than the electronic band gap of the photoresist, exhibits a phase alteration. Illumination of the photoresist with a laser beam whose energy is lower than the electronic band gap of the photoresist but whose intensity at the focal point is so high that nonlinear effects occur there nevertheless results in a phase alteration in the photoresist. Thereafter, the illuminated photoresist is exposed to an etching solution which preferentially dissolves one phase of the photoresist, and the developed photoresist is finally removed therefrom as a photonic crystal. Inorganic photonic crystals produced by the process according to the invention are suitable for completely optical systems, circuits and components for optical telecommunication or computer systems.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2005Date of Patent: June 8, 2010Assignees: Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbH, University of TorontoInventors: Sean H. Patent number: 7713005Abstract: The invention relates to a milling head for milling chamfers, especially for a mobile chamfer miller, comprising successive seats for blanking dies, said seats having a position in which the blanking dies with a leading edge angle of between 40 and 75° operate respectively on average with a positive effective cutting angle of at least 6° and a clearance angle of at least 6°, and are provided for a border comprising blanking dies with a staggered arrangement of the cutting edges, such that respectively only one cutting edge length of 15 mm, preferably 12 mm, at the most, is active. Said measures increase the cutting performance of the milling head. The reduced cutting edge length can be formed on a long blanking die instead of using a shorter blanking die, in such a way that the cutting edge is interrupted by cavities or other e.g. flat triangular recesses on the surface of the blanking die. The staggered arrangement is then comparatively small.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2005Date of Patent: May 11, 2010Inventor: Stephan Rieth

Patent number: 7713086Abstract: A component (30) is to be attached by means of a plug connector (10) in a hole (53) of a base plate (50). To this end, the plug connector (10) has a shaft (15) with a flat profile. When the plug is inserted in the socket, the shaft end (20) projects out of the hole (53) on the rear side of the circuit board (52). The shaft end (20) is followed by a shaft section (13), broadened relative to the hole width (54), which has an opening (14). By means of the opening (14), the shaft section (13) is split into two legs (11, 12), which are sprung against each another and which hold the shaft (15) in the hole (53) of the circuit board (50) when the plug is inserted in the socket. To improve the holding effect, the two legs (11, 12) are constructed differently one from the other, wherein one leg (11) has a greater longitudinal extension (21) than the other (12). This means that the broadened shaft section (13) splits into a long (11) and a short leg (12).Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2007Date of Patent: May 11, 2010Assignee: William Prym GmbH & Co. Patent number: 7690232Abstract: A locking device having a locking cylinder and a key. The locking cylinder includes a cylinder core with tumblers in a cylinder core, which is rotatably mounted in a cylinder housing. Standard coding for the key is produced by a step with longitudinal profiling on at least one flat side of the edge profile of the key, said step being associated with a counter step on the tumbler. In addition to the standard coding produced by step and counter step, the key has at least one set of beveled edge coding in a corner section of the edge profile. The beveled edged coding consists of recesses in the form of beveled cuts in the corresponding corner sections of the edge profile, relative to which are provided counter touching points in the corresponding tumbler. In a section of the key shaft, either the standard coding or beveled edge coding can optionally be used, thereby considerably increasing the diversity of the locking device while retaining the space-saving design.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2006Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Assignee: Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst GmbH & Co.
