  • Patent number: 8291126
Abstract: One or more embodiments provide a method and system of reading data from a variable-latency memory, via a serial input/output memory data interface. The system includes a memory having a variable-latency access time, a memory controller, and a serial data bus coupling the memory controller to the memory. The memory controller communicates a Read command to the memory and forces the serial data bus low for a limited time. The memory then forces the bus low and the memory controller then releases the bus. When the memory is ready to provide data, the memory provides a high signal on the serial data bus.

  • Patent number: 8284657
Abstract: Methods and systems are directed to dynamically mirroring a connection between network devices. Mirroring is managed by forwarding a packet between a first network device and a second network device. In one method, the first network device receives the packet from a client and communicates the packet to the second network device. A forwarding device, pre-determined from the first and second network devices, forwards the packet to a server. The first network device receives a response from the server, and communicates it to the second network device. The forwarding device forwards the response packet to the client. In one configuration, the first network device and forwarding device is an active device, and the second network device is a standby device. In another configuration, the first network device is a standby device, and the second network device and forwarding device is an active device.

  • Patent number: 8285106
Abstract: Audio data is prevented from not synchronizing with video data when splicing. A first GOP of a video stream of a second program is spliced to a last GOP of a video stream of a first program. A first GOP of an audio stream of the second program is spliced to a last GOP of an audio stream of the first program. In this case, a gap amount PTS_FS required for synchronizing video data and audio data after the splicing is computed for each GOP. For the splicing processing, a gap amount PTS_FS_SPLYCE caused when the last GOP is spliced to the first GOP directly and the PTS_FS are used.

  • Patent number: 8286086
Abstract: A system and method are directed towards enabling control of widgets using on-widget data controls. A visitor may enter selective personal information and determine what information is made available on a social networking webpage. A visitor to a social networking website may select to not have their information displayed at a social networking website, while still being displayed at another social networking website. A visitor's information may be displayed within a reader roll, an association listing, a visitor comment page, or the like. An owner of a social networking website may also select not to have a visitor's information displayed on the website. In one embodiment, selecting not to display information may be performed by ‘mousing’ over the information and selecting a display option. Social networking websites may look to a centralized registration system to determine whether to display the visitor information.

  • Patent number: 8283477
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing N-substituted maleimide in high purity and high yield, wherein, unlike a conventional method of preparing N-substituted maleimide after preparing N-substituted maleamic acid, an organic solvent, an acid catalyst, a dehydration co-catalyst and a stabilizer are added into a reactor without separately preparing N-substituted maleamic acid, and then a primary amine is added into the reactor to form an amine salt, maleic anhydride is added into the reactor, and the resulting mixture is subjected to a dehydration-cyclization reaction, wherein water produced during the reaction is azeotropically distilled with the organic solvent so as to effectively suppress formation of a maleimide polymer.

  • Patent number: 8282222
Abstract: An image projection device for displaying an image onto a remote surface. The image projection device employs a scanner to project image beams of visible light and tracer beams of light onto a remote surface to form a display of the image. The device also employs a light detector to sense at least the reflections of light from the tracer beam pulses incident on the remote surface. The device employs the sensed tracer beam light pulses to predict the trajectory of subsequent image beam light pulses and tracer beam light pulses that form a display of the image on the remote surface in a pseudo random pattern. The trajectory of the projected image beam light pulses can be predicted so that the image is displayed from a point of view that can be selected by, or automatically adjusted for, a viewer of the displayed image.
