  • Patent number: 7014065
Abstract: An improved dispenser for displaying and dispensing lottery tickets utilizes a dispensing slot with tension arms to provide tension to tickets of varying thicknesses. The dispensing slot is cut into a door at an end of a box-like structure, which holds the tickets. Tension arms extend from the bottom of the slot into notches at the top of the slot such that the slot is narrower than the thickness of the tickets. Because the tension arms are also flexible, tickets of varying thickness can pass through the slot without becoming stuck.

  • Patent number: 6983582
Abstract: The stalk strength tester of the present invention includes an internal shaft and an external shaft in telescopic relationship. Pivotally associated with the upper end of the internal shaft is a trough-like stalk cradle. A set of measurement markers are on the upper end of the internal shaft and a rubber ring is around the internal shaft and abuts the external shaft. Associated with the other end of the internal shaft is a tension member. A tension adjustment structure is provided for adjusting the tension in the tension member. In operation, a stalk is positioned into the cradle and the tester is pushed against it. The internal shaft telescopically slides against the tension member and into the external shaft until the cradle pivots at which time the rubber ring remains in a position relative to one of the markers as an indicator of the tension measured.

  • Patent number: 6923390
Abstract: A guidance system for controlling the steering of a swing arm on a center pivot irrigation system is provided through the use of two satellite signal receiving antennas associated with a drive tower for the swing arm. The signal receiving antennas are mounted from the swing tower so that one of the antennas is in a position forwardly of a steerable wheel for the tower and the other antenna is located in a position rearwardly of the steerable wheel. The signal receiving antennas are mounted in such fashion that they rotate in a direct relation to the steering of the steerable wheel so as to provide position information for the steering of the drive tower that more efficiently and effectively maintains the drive tower on a desired path of travel.

  • Patent number: 6830365
Abstract: The present invention provides an artificial tree for use outdoors that includes a tree with trunk, branches and twigs protected from moisture penetration and a plurality of optical fibers also protected from the outside element. A housing encloses a light source assembly and a fan with a hood for protection from overheating. The housing includes a sloped overhang for moisture protection. A collar with a transparent closed end is inserted into an opening in the housing. The trunk of the tree fits into the collar with its bottom end and one end of every fiber abutting the transparent closed end of the collar. When the light source assembly is on, the tree is lit by the optical fibers and the light assembly is protected from moisture and overheating. An added protective feature is that the housing sits on legs such that there is clearance between the housing and the ground.
