  • Patent number: 7500583
Abstract: An attachment triggers dispensation of paint through the valve of an inverted aerosol can onto a surface target in response to manipulation of a surveyor's rod or pole. A coupling connects the attachment to the lower end of the surveyor's instrument and a cap seals against the valve end of the inverted aerosol can. A support structure holds the coupling, the inverted aerosol can and the cap together for motion in unison. A nozzle defines a path of pneumatic communication from the valve through the cap. The portion of the cap surrounding the nozzle is resiliently pliable so that, when the nozzle is rested on and the surveyor's instrument is pressed toward the surface target, the resiliently pliable portion of the cap flexes to actuate the valve and dispense paint through the nozzle onto the surface target.

  • Patent number: 7491336
Abstract: In a process for treating effluent water, a stream of effluent water is fed to a porous ceramic media filled reactor. Organic and inorganic impurities are absorbed and/or oxidized from the effluent water into the media and/or off-gases. The remainder of the effluent water stream is dispensed from the reactor in an outlet stream suitable for direct discharge to the sea or for recycling without incurring the disadvantages of generating a solid sludge. The reactor includes a chamber containing activated media, such as pellets of porous ceramic material. The pellets are stored in a vertical stacks of sub chambers defined by horizontal perforated trays and/or in a horizontal chains of sub chambers defined by vertical perforated baffles.

  • Patent number: 7491665
Abstract: A textile material is provided, the appearance of which can be changed by stretching a whole or a part of the material in one or more pre-determined directions. The textile material is formed using a base fabric onto which one or more coating layers (e.g. metallic coating) are applied. The coated fabric is then stretched in a substantially transverse direction to the fabric and then in a substantially longitudinal direction to the fabric.

  • Patent number: 7481056
Abstract: An exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine has a flow control gate that is timely pivotal and located within the exhaust gas inlet downstream of the flow splitter. Control is provided to timely pivot the flow control gate toward the turbine rotor and thus provides an initial high velocity spin to the rotor when turbo charged boost pressure is demanded from an adjustable direction flow control valve. The control valve uses boost pressure from the compressor to timely actuate a piston and lever connected to the pivotal flow control gate, or a signal from an engine control module (ECM) can be directed to a hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical actuator having a reciprocal control rod connected to the flow control gate.

  • Patent number: 7475591
Abstract: A method of hydrostatic testing a selected section of a pipeline having fluid flow therethrough, including the steps of introducing into the pipeline a pig train including a leading seal pig, a supply liquid slug, a first isolation tool, a test liquid slug and a second isolation tool; permitting the train to traverse the pipeline interior by the force of fluid flow until the lead isolation tool is forwardly of and the second isolation tool is rearwardly of the selected selection of the pipeline; securing the position of the pig train by applying exteriorly of the pipeline appropriate signals to actuate the isolation tools to each engage and seal the interior of the pipeline trapping the test liquid slug therebetween; and pumping liquid from the supply liquid slugs into the test liquid slug to a hydrostatic testing pressure. In addition to testing, the pipeline can be repaired by moving the pig train into position where a defective area can be isolated by additional isolation tools.

  • Patent number: 7445761
Abstract: A method and system of providing compressed substantially oxygen-free exhaust gas for industrial purposes including the steps of extracting exhaust gas from a lean burn engine consuming a mixture of natural gas fuel and air, passing the extracted exhaust gas through a cooling step to cause entrained water vapor therein to condense out, separating and disposing of the condensed water, measuring the oxygen content of the exhaust gas, using the measurement to regulate the quantity of natural gas fed into an igniter into which the exhaust gas is also fed so that substantially all of the oxygen in the exhaust gas is consumed by combustion with the natural gas in the igniter to provide at an outlet of the igniter substantially oxygen-free exhaust gas, and compressing the substantially oxygen-free exhaust gas to provide compressed exhaust gas for industrial applications.

  • Patent number: 7434347
Abstract: A waterfowl luring system provides directional motion to one or more waterfowl decoys. The system employs a motor or other force-generating device to rotate a platform to which one or more decoys are attached so that the decoys are moved in relation to rotation of the platform. In operation, the decoys are moved along a substantially circular flight path. The system is highly versatile and may be employed on dry land or in shallow as well as deep water environments.

  • Patent number: 7418810
Abstract: An improved equine training halter includes a noseband and a headband. Left and right through openings are formed in the headband and located to receive therethrough the left and right ears, respectively, of an equine. Left and right lines are attached to the headband adjacent to its lower surface. Each line includes a hoop positioned substantially concentrically about one of the left and right through openings. A recoil mechanism is anchored to the central headband portion between the left and right through openings and is secured to the hoops of the left and right lines such that the hoops are pulled back to their original position when the lines are released after being pulled to apply pressure to areas of sensitivity around the equine's ears.

  • Patent number: 7350240
Abstract: An apron for use in shoeing horses or in other activities in which there is a likelihood that a tool might puncture the thigh portion of a person's clothing has detachable thigh pads. The apron is washable, air permeable and lightweight in comparison to the pads. The pads, preferably leather, are puncture resistant, identically shaped and symmetrical about vertical and horizontal axes. The attachment mechanisms, such as mating segments of hook and loop material, are positioned so that the pads are interchangeable on the coverings. Thus, damaged pads can be rotated, switched or replaced on one lightweight apron, maximizing pad use and minimizing packing space for travel.
