Abstract: A rotary internal combustion engine having an elliptical wall member which forms an elliptical internal chamber. A drive shaft is rotatably mounted in the housing and extends transversely through the elliptical chamber. A substantially cylindrical rotor is secured to the drive shaft within the chamber and has a plurality of circumferentially equidistantly spaced vane members radially slidably disposed within the rotor. A source of fluid pressure communicates with the radially inner end of the vane members to urge the vane members radially outwardly so that the vane members contact the elliptical wall. Abstract: A load protecting circuit includes a triac connected in series with the load to provide an open circuit when a voltage drop or current surge is applied to the load. The triac is gated through a transistorized gating circuit which includes a zero-crossing detector so that the gate of the triac is turned on or off only during zero-crossing points of the AC line voltage. The gating circuit is responsive to a voltage drop detector comprising a photo-optical isolator which turns off as the voltage drop in the input line drops below a predetermined value and, thus, turns off the gating current to the triac. The current surge protector comprises a transistor of reverse polarity from the transistors contained in the gating circuit so that a gate current derived from the current surge and applied to the transistor turns off the activating current for the gating circuit. The device also includes a varistor for protection against spike voltage impulses and a radio frequency suppression line.
Abstract: A flow meter is provided having a housing with inlet and outlet ports respectively adapted to be connected with a source of fluid pressure and a fluid user. A semicircular vane member mounted within the housing is movable in response to a change in the flow rate between the inlet and outlet ports to rotate a shaft to which the vane member is attached. The shaft, in turn, extends externally of the housing and is operatively coupled to an indicator for providing an external visual indication of the rate of fluid flow through the flow meter. The improvement, however, comprises a unitary spring seal having a first portion rigidly secured to the housing and a second portion which extends between the housing and the vane shaft. This second portion extends along the shaft within the housing and is resiliently urged against the outer peripheral surface of the shaft in order to prevent fluid leakage between the vane shaft and the housing.
Abstract: The invention relates to a pressing dummy for finish pressing sweaters, jackets and similar garments, primarily made of knit fabric, consisting of a hollow body for the body portion and two pivot arms for the sleeves of the sweater, the jacket or a similar garment, with the pivot arms being able to be pivoted independently of the hollow body on the base support of the dummy used for pressing about a vertical axis by means of a manual lever via linkages out of the operative position, in which they are located in a plane in a manner in which they are aligned with the hollow body, forwardly towards the operating personnel into a receiving position, in which the operating personnel can without difficulty pull the sleeves of the garment onto the pivot arms after the body portion of the garment have been drawn over the hollow body, whereupon the pivot arms can again be pivoted back into their operative position, in which the finish-pressing operation takes place, in which a hot air-steam-mixture is blown into the h
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for automatically turning the pages of a music book which consists of a music book stand, a number of page turning slats piled one over another and pivoted at the top of the music book stand, each of said slats being adapted to be inserted obliquely between every two pages of the music book, a gear arranged behind said page turning slats and said gear provided with a number of circumferentially arranged slits adapted to be engaged with the upper ends of the slats successively during the rotation of the gear so as to turn over each page. An electric motor for driving said gear is under the musician's control.
Abstract: A rolling bearing comprising an outer race and an inner race having interposed therebetween two or more rows of rolling bodies, is described. The most important characteristic of such bearing consists in that the inner race is arranged to support a cantilever shaft, and to this end the said race is formed substantially by two facing disks having interposed therebetween a spacer disk.

Abstract: A bearing lubricant injector comprising a first ring member secured to a shaft which is rotatably supported by a bearing adjacent the first ring member. A second ring member is secured to the first ring member by a plurality circumferentially spaced stanchions to define a lubricant flow passage which directs an axial flow of lubricant into the bearing. The radially outer surface of the first ring member is inclined upwardly toward the bearing so that rotation of the ring centrifugally forces the lubricant into the bearing.
Abstract: A valve guide for the stem of a valve in an internal combustion engine is provided having an inner bore through which the stem of the valve is longitudinally positioned, the inner bore surface of the body being nitrided in order to harden the body about the surface through which the valve stem is slidably positioned. The body is completely formed prior to installation of the body in the engine valve guide bore.
Abstract: A tool sharpening fixture is provided which is particularly suited for sharpening rotary cutting tools. The tool sharpening fixture comprises a housing having a throughbore and a bushing rotatably mounted in the housing throughbore and having an eccentric axial bore formed through its. An elongated cylindrical member is inserted through the bushing eccentric bore so that the elongated member extends outwardly from each end of the housing. The cutting tool to be sharpened is removably mounted at one end of the elongated member while the opposite end of the elongated member can be grasped by the hand of the user. An indexing ring is secured to the bushing and locks the elongated member to the bushing in at least two predetermined rotational positions. Typically, the number of indexing positions is the same as the number of cutting edges on the tool to be sharpened. A stop ring is also rotatably mounted to the housing and lockable at any desired rotational position.
Abstract: A metal cross support is provided for use with a wooden truss structure of the type having a plurality of spaced wooden truss elements with a wooden stringer extending across at least one end of the truss elements and generally perpendicular thereto. A narrow and transversely extending channel is formed in each truss element so that the channels are in alignment with each other. The cross support comprises an elongated strip having a portion which is insertable into the aligned channel so that upon insertion, the metal strip is frictionally attached to the wooden truss elements. In addition, an overlapping portion at at least one end of the metal strip lies in a horizontal plane, abuts against and is attached to a corresponding horizontal surface.
Abstract: An energy efficient heating system is provided for use with a fireplace or like means having a flue which recovers heat which is otherwise exhausted through the flue. The heating system comprises a heat collector in the form of a fluid conduit which is mounted within the flue and a housing positioned outside the fireplace. A holding tank having an open top is contained within the housing while the outlet from the fluid conduit is open to the tank. A drain on the tank forms a fluid outlet which is connected to the inlet of a heat exchanger while the heat exchange outlet is connected via a fluid pump to the inlet of the fluid conductor. Thus, upon activation of the fluid pump, a fluid, preferably water, is continually pumped through the fluid conduit while the exhaust gases passing through the flue heat the fluid. In addition, a fan is provided within the housing which circulates air through the heat exchanger and into the area which is to be heated.

Said tracer comprises a body for the connection to the machine, an end arranged to come into contact with a surface, and two detector elements apt to emit signals of detection of the movements of the said end, along two orthogonal directions, produced by the contact with the said surface. The main characteristic of the tracer is that said detector elements simultaneously detect the said movements along the said two directions, the said two detector elements comprising each a portion stationary relative to the said connection body and a portion movable as a function of the movements of the said end.
Abstract: An adjustable frame structure is provided which is particularly useful for supporting macrame while it is being put together. At least three legs are pivotally and slidably secured at one end to an annular ring. Thus, the legs are easily spread apart from each other and the height of the frame is easily adjustable. Furthermore, since the legs can be easily spread apart, the device enables a chair to be easily placed between the legs and thereby provide a comfortable working position. In addition, a cord and pulley is provided in order to adjust the height of the macrame with respect to the frame.
