Abstract: A fuel control valve for limiting the flow of fuel to an internal combustion engine having fuel injector means. A fuel control valve has a series of orifices in a fuel control block and a cam located in the block and communicating with a fuel pump for an internal combustion engine. The cam is rotatably movable in the control block so as to increase and decrease the cross-sectional flow area for the fuel to the engine by communicating with one or more fuel orifices or jets in the fuel control block. The cam is mechanically connected to the accelerator of the engine so that fuel supply to the stacks leading to the cylinders of the engine is directly controlled according to the operation of the accelerator pedal. In this way, the fuel flow and pressure to the fuel injector is immediately limited when the operator releases the accelerator.

Abstract: An automobile window screen is removably disposed between opposing elements of an automobile window frame. The screen includes a pair of flexible and resilient elongated blocks, each of the blocks having a pair of longitudinal edges and a plurality of ventilation holes formed therethrough. The blocks are in abutment at positions along, but slightly spaced from, their longitudinal edges. A flexible elongated screen is abutably disposed between the blocks. The window screen possesses sufficient rigidity to extend to the opposing window frame elements when disposed in the window opening, yet possesses sufficient flexibility to be longitudinally rolled when not disposed in the window opening. Preferably, the blocks are formed from foam rubber, and Velcro strips are used to secure the screen in a rolled condition.
Abstract: A cleaning device for removing foulant from the hull of a sea going vessel comprising a carriage, a plurality of cleaning nozzles secured to the carriage, a reactor nozzle aligned to produce a reactive force which opposed the force component of the cleaning nozzles which tends to urge the carriage away from the hull of a ship, and control members for displacing the carriage across the hull surface of the vessel. The control member can be flexible, in which case the reactor nozzle is also aligned to tension the control members. In any case, the control members provide remote control of the carriage throughout a regular pattern of predetermined paths.
Abstract: A black smoke generator is provided for generating a smoke screen for use on military vehicles, installations and the like. The black smoke generator is a self-sustaining unit and comprises a compressor having an outlet, a turbine having an inlet and a burner assembly operatively connected between the compressor outlet and the turbine inlet. The burner assembly has a housing which defines a combustion chamber while fuel is supplied to the combustion chamber at a rate which produces an excessively rich fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber. Upon ignition of the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber, black smoke is exhausted through the turbine which simultaneously drives the compressor. A method for generating black smoke is also disclosed.
Abstract: A connector device for board sailors is provided and includes a body engaging harness which supports a boom engaging device. The boom engaging device comprises an elongated arm having a rotatable spool member which is positioned on and compressably engageable against the boom of the board sailing craft. The length of the arm supporting the rotatable spool is adjustable so that the device can be used by board sailors of varying heights. Moreover, the support arm is angularly adjustable with respect to the body engaging harness so that the boom serves to support the weight of the board sailor when the board sailor hangs out from the side of the sail surfing vessel to counteract the force of the wind exerted upon the sail and to control the direction of the sail craft but permits ready disengagement between the board sailor and the craft when the craft begins to capsize or the sail begins to fall.
Abstract: This invention relates to novel plaque disclosing compositions for use in the self-evaluation and motivation of oral hygiene practices. Still, more particularly, the invention relates to incorporated water insoluble, water immiscible, pressure rupturable, dispersed, emulsed particles and capsules containing a plaque disclosing dye element in toothpaste compositions.
Abstract: A device is provided for use with an actuator having an actuator shaft which indicates when the torque on the actuator shaft exceeds a predetermined limit. The device comprises a housing which carries a pair of limit switches. A shaft extension is operatively connected with the actuator shaft so that axial force on the actuator shaft, which is proportional to the shaft torque, is transmitted to the shaft extension. A hub and Belleville washer arrangement translates the axial force on a shaft into a proportional axial movement of the hub while a radially extending member from the hub includes a portion positioned adjacent the limit switch. Thus, when the axial force in one direction on the shaft exceeds a first predetermined amount, the radially extending member activates one limit switch which in turn is connected to an indicator.
Abstract: Dental anchoring means of the kind including a threaded pin which is located in a hole in a tooth. Before insertion into the hole, the pin is integral with a shank through a neck which allows the pin to break off from the shank after insertion. The pin and shank are located in a longitudinal open-ended bore in a connecting member which is arranged to be secured in a dental handpiece. The pin and shank are fixed in the bore by forming an enlarged head on the shank which is a force fit in the bore. This locks the pin and shank securely in the bore during use and the connecting member can be of different material from the shank and pin.
Abstract: A package for articles is particularly suitable for small dental tools and fittings. The package includes a base member and a rotary member mounted for rotation relative to the base member.A circular space for the articles is defined between the base member and the rotary member and the space is divided into radial compartments arranged to receive the articles. The base member also defines a chute leading to a pocket, the chute communicating with the compartments for dispensing the articles upon rotation of the rotary member. The rotary member is transparent for viewing the articles in the compartments and the rotary member is indexable to ensure retention and release of articles from the compartments.
Abstract: A genital splint permitting a male to achieve penetration during sexual intercourse comprises a base adjacent the torso, an adjustable collar compressingly engaging the glans of the penis, and adjustable support column means for maintaining the collar in an adjustable yet fixed position relative to the base. Preferably, a pliable material such as silicon tubing covers each of these elements for comfort and to prevent damage to body tissues during intercourse. Adjustment of the length of the support column means occurs by either the telescopic or the threaded engagement of an inner rod and an outer tube, the rod and tube each being attached to one of the collar and the base.

Abstract: A low cost, integrated, aircraft fuel management system. A system control unit receives engine variable signals and provides a signal to a motor control unit which thereby controls a variable speed motor. The motor drives a positive displacement pump which delivers and meters fuel to a slinger type turbine engine capable of handling slurry fuels. In a preferred embodiment, compressor discharge pressure (CDP) is supplied to the airframe fuel reservoir thereby pressurizing the fuel supply and minimizing the power requirements of the motor driving the fuel pump.
