  • Patent number: 8013884
Abstract: A printing device transfers slide dependent information onto glass surfaces such as a glass slide for holding a medical specimen. A single slide is transferred from a storage section, passing under a thermal print head. The thermal print head defines and transfers an image from an ink media onto the slide as the slide passes across the print head. The print head utilizes pixel like heating elements to apply the desired image. The ink media moves in tandem with the motion of the slide, presenting a continuously fresh section of ink between the print head and the slide throughout the printing process. The information on the slide should be both human and machine readable to reduce any chances of misidentification of the specimen as to the patient. The ink media is endures any chemical processes and handling encountered throughout the expected life of the slide.

  • Patent number: 7997059
Abstract: A propulsion system for use in a liquid or gas fluid is provided including an axially-extending funnel-shaped conduit, a flow generator, a power source, and, optionally, an airfoil-shaped wing. The funnel-shaped conduit has outer walls forming an inner fluid passageway, an upper edge defining a fluid inlet, and a lower edge defining a fluid outlet. The optional airfoil-shaped wing is connected to and circumferentially surrounds the funnel-shaped conduit upper edge. The flow generator is rotatably mounted about the axis of the funnel-shaped conduit and is configured to force the fluid from the fluid inlet rearward through the fluid outlet. A forward force is produced by the combination of both thrust from the flow generator plus the lift force created as the flow generator draws the fluid across the annular airfoil-shaped wing and inwardly through the fluid inlet forcing the fluid rearward to exit out of the fluid outlet.

  • Patent number: 7987810
Abstract: An articulating paper dispenser is provided including an upper housing and a lower housing that, when engaged together, form a both a lubricant container and a chamber for containing an articulating paper roll. The articulating paper that is unwound from the articulating paper roll is passed through the lubricant container. The articulating paper dispenser will preferably include pressure rollers to guide the articulating paper through a dispensing slot in the dispenser. The lubricant container is configured to contain a lubricant that increases the marking ability of the articulating paper. As the articulating paper is dispensed from the articulating paper system, it is coated on both sides with a thin layer of the lubricant. The lubricant-coated articulating paper is then used to check a patient's occlusion more accurately and precisely.

  • Patent number: 7984819
Abstract: A rectangular collapsible, stackable shipping container is provided that is capable of safely, stably, and securely carrying cargo and is capable of being reliably collapsed to save space when empty. The collapsible shipping container preferably includes a top section assembly, bottom section assembly, opposing end wall assemblies, and opposing horizontally hinged side wall panels that are interconnected and articulated. The opposing side wall panels are formed of at least two articulating longitudinal sections and also articulate with the bottom frame section, folding inwardly and downwardly when collapsed. The opposing end wall assemblies, one of which is configured as a door, articulate with the top roof section and with the bottom frame section, folding inwardly when collapsed. Provision is made for increasing security via the integration of a security device in the container walls. Additionally provision is made for weight-reduction through the utilization of a non-metallic material.

  • Patent number: 7934567
Abstract: A driving apparatus is disclosed for planting a vertically oriented shaft into a granular base. The driving apparatus includes an anvil integrally formed at an intermediate location on the shaft. A weight is attached on the shaft, above the anvil, in freely slidable engagement. The shaft is provided with a tapered lower end. With the lower end positioned adjacent to the granular base, the weights may be repeatedly propelled against the anvil, by sliding along the shaft in a hammering motion, to drive the shaft into the base. • Patent number: 7908263
Abstract: A search engine optimizer that works independently and in parallel with a browser and search engine supercomputer to gather, analyze, and distill input information interactively. The optimizer reorganizes the input, and providing an optimized version as an output. The optimized version of the input (e.g. output) is sent to the search engine, which responds to the end user with search results. The optimizer recognizes each request as a pattern and stores the pattern in an advanced Glyph format. This permits the optimizer to identify a left and right side checkmate combination required to achieve certitude.
