  • Patent number: 7079995
Abstract: A tactile simulator for use in conjunction with a video display. The tactile simulator comprises a tactile bar, and a video program player capable of generating audio, video, and control outputs upon reading a video medium having encoded simulation control information. The signals which are transmitted to the tactile bar by the video program player control the motion of weights located within the tactile bar, vibration of motors within the tactile bar, and temperature changes of the tactile bar. Two motors having eccentric weights cause the tactile bar to selectively vibrate. Additionally, the movement of the weights within the tactile bar impart a sense of motion. Two embodiments of the tactile bar are presented. The first embodiment is ā€œUā€ shaped and is connected by wire to a control output on the video program player. A second version is wireless and receives infrared signals generated by the video program player.

  • Patent number: 7073517
Abstract: A hair cutting guide, for use by a hairdresser in cutting the hair of a person using scissors, having a pair of guide halves that are hingeably attached and selectively enter an open position and a closed position. Each of the guide halves have a plurality of teeth arranged along its longitudinal edges. The teeth have an inner surface that face the inner surfaces of the teeth in the other guide halve when the guide is in the closed position. Combs extend perpendicularly to the inner surfaces such that hair is extended transversely between the longitudinal edges and is held in place by the combs when the guide is closed. Straight cutting and point cutting is carried out by cutting with the scissors adjacent to the teeth along one of the longitudinal edges when the guide is in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 7061402
Abstract: An emergency vehicle warning system comprising a transmitter unit positioned within an emergency vehicle, and a receiver unit positioned within a passenger vehicle, wherein upon receipt of a radio frequency activation signal from the transmitter unit, an electronic chime within the receiver unit emits an audible alert, and thereby warns the driver of the passenger vehicle of the approaching emergency vehicle. The receiver unit additionally displays the relative position of the emergency vehicle upon a display panel. The receiver unit is additionally activated by sound waves associated with the siren of the emergency vehicle. The warning system alerts the driver to the approaching emergency vehicle before hearing the siren of the emergency vehicle, and thereby provides enough time for the driver of the passenger vehicle to safely pull over to the side of the road in order to allow the emergency vehicle to pass.
