  • Patent number: 6918669
Abstract: An eyeglass cord winding device having a selectively extendable cord which is attachable to a frame of an existing pair of eyeglasses. The eyeglass cord winding device has a reel assembly housing which encloses a reel assembly having a reel and a coiled spring in mechanical contact with the reel. The cord is selectively extended from the reel assembly housing by a user pulling upon the leading end of the cord. The coiled spring biases the reel assembly to a retracted position wherein the cord is selectively wound around the reel. After attaching the leading end of the cord to the frame of the existing eyeglasses, a clip on the reel assembly housing is selectively attached to an item of clothing worn by the user, thereby preventing the accidental loss or misplacement of the eyeglasses after they have been removed from the head of the user.

  • Patent number: 6913144
Abstract: A yarn organizer, for conveniently holding and displaying a great variety of yarns, having at least two arms and a pivoting axle. The arms are substantially flat and have a connected end, a free end, and a plurality of openings extending fully through the arms. The openings are longitudinally spaced between the connected end and the free end. The pivoting axle extends transversely through the connected ends of the arms and allows the arms to pivot with respect to each other to selectively allow the arms to either fully or partially overlap each other. Spacers, which are located on the pivoting axle between the arms, allow for sufficient clearance for the yarn to extend through the openings of each arm and wrap around the side of the arm having that opening. Each opening of each yarn is uniquely identified with indicia.

  • Patent number: 6883947
Abstract: A laser illumination system, for use with an automobile, comprising a plurality of modules. Each module has a housing having a lens, and a mode selection switch for choosing between headlight and taillight modes. Preferably, two modules are mounted at the front of the automobile to function as headlights, and two of the modules are mounted at the rear of the automobile to function as taillights. Each module has a beam emitter which produces an initial beam of laser light and an output mirror which directs an exit beam through the lens, outwardly of the automobile, and ultimately creates a cone of light at the ground surface forwardly or rearwardly of the automobile. When used as a headlight and the mode selection switch is appropriately set, an output mirror rotation motor spreads the output beam so that it creates a larger cone on the ground surface.

  • Patent number: 6807481
Abstract: A logging and compliance computer system for use by drivers in meeting regulation when driving a vehicle containing a cargo. The system identifies the driver and retrieves a data record for that driver containing the driver's history of recent driving. The system accepts a destination, equipment safety report, and cargo description from the driver. The system plots a route to the destination considering the equipment safety report, the cargo description, the driver history, and regulations governing the driver operating the vehicle and transporting the cargo. The driver is allowed to drive if permissible under the regulations considering the driver's history while the system times the driving and regularly updates the data record. When the driver is no longer permitted to drive, the system warns the driver to rest. Following a rest period, when driving is again permissible under the regulations, the driver is alerted to continue to the destination.

  • Patent number: 6772800
Abstract: A pedicure basin liner system, for preventing transmission of pathogens between pedicure clients when using a common pedicure basin. The pedicure basin has side walls, a bottom portion, and a top lip, which together define an interior volume capable of containing and supporting a quantity of water during a pedicure procedure. To prevent the water from actually contacting the basin while allowing the basin to support the weight of the water, the basin is covered with a liner that is shaped to fit closely within the basin against its bottom portion and side walls, and extend over the top lip. The liner is subsequently filled with water and the basin supports the weight of the water while remaining isolated from the water. After the pedicure procedure is performed, the water and the liner are disposed of.
