  • Patent number: 8022845
Abstract: A vehicle monitoring and traffic enforcement system in which a wireless communication device is associated with motor vehicles. The device will transmit vehicle identification data which is relayed to a database which maintains current information concerning insurance law compliance, motor vehicle registration and licensing compliance, traffic citations and other information. If a violation or compliance failure is noted, this is transmitted to a law enforcement agency and a nearby law enforcement vehicle. A law enforcement officer may be required to pursue the vehicle depending on the violation and traffic conditions. The system uses GPS and GIS technology to provide law enforcement with a real time display which will not only show the vehicle being tracked but also a map of the area showing roads, traffic conditions and even the location of other law enforcement or emergency vehicles so that officials may make a safe and fast response to situations.

  • Patent number: 8016484
Abstract: A convertible sport and recreational accessory which is easily convertible for use either as a towel or as a tote bag. The planar towel configuration has an elongate, fabric body with a pair of side panels. Two opposed pairs of drawstrings are encased in seams arranged longitudinally and transversely which, when pulled, will form a pouch. The ends of the body and the side panels may be used as a cover or flap extending into the pouch opening or may be tucked into the pouch. Handles are provided for convenience when the combination towel/tote is in the tote mode or configuration.

  • Patent number: 7930959
Abstract: A mounting system for a table saw accessory such as a power feed. A carrier is slidably mounted on a rail or flange at the rear of the saw table so that it may traverse the rear of the table. The rear of the saw fence is secured to the carrier. A mounting plate for the power feed is on either the carrier or the fence allowing the power feed to be moved between use and out-of-the-way positions. In the out-of-the-way position, the power feed allows the user to safely feed materials into the cutting blade area.

  • Patent number: 7919037
Abstract: A process and a mold for molding parts. The mold is fabricated using a mixture of a viscous resin such as a gel coat containing nano particles. Electrical conductors are incorporated in the mold surface. The resulting mold in use is heatable by application of electricity to produce parts substantially reducing cure and post cure time. Completed parts containing conductive nano particles may also be produced and are heatable in use for applications where it is desirable to heat the part in use such as de-icing panels. A composition for fabricating parts containing a resin and nano particle segments in sufficient quantity to establish a conductive path is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7824133
Abstract: A ground cover in the form of a flexible substrate defining a plurality of compactly arranged extractable sections. The installation method involves passing the substrate material from a feed roll to an extraction site on a mobile installation apparatus. A plurality of drive pins are aligned with the substrate and, as the drive pins advance, the sections are extracted and driven into the soil. Various drive pins arrangements are shown and the drive pins may reciprocate along with a rotational or impacting stroke to penetrate the soil while implanting the substrate sections.

  • Patent number: 7789041
Abstract: An interactive pet feeding and watering bowl which defines a food or watering containing dish. A voice module is recordable to record audible messages for the pet. The module is removably contained in a compartment in the bowl. A sensor, such as a proximity sensor, detects entry into the bowl when an animal is feeding or drinking which activates a voice module. Preferably the bowl is shaped to direct the animal to approach the bowl from the front.

  • Patent number: 7698882
Abstract: A harvesting device for nuts and similar small objects having a handle which receives a manually reciprocable push rod having a spreader on its lower end. Tubular collection chambers are secured to the handle. A continuous coil spring extends between the lower, open ends of the collection chambers. The spreader engages the coil spring within the interior area at the end of the handle. In use, downward pressure applied to the handle at the grip will cause the openings between the coils of the coil spring to separate sufficiently to allow objects on the ground to pass into the interior of the spring and into one of the collection chambers. The collection chambers are emptied by holding the device over a receptacle such as a bin with one hand and operating the push rod in a reciprocating or pumping motion causing the openings between the coils to open and close, facilitating rapid emptying of the collection chambers.

  • Patent number: 7695322
Abstract: A subminiature coaxial connector including a matched impedance plug and jack for coupling printed circuit boards, RF modules, coaxial cables, and the like, and minimizing RF or microwave signal losses and/or degradations. The plug and jack each comprises a coaxial structure including an outer tubular conductor and a center contact held in place by a dielectric sleeve within the outer tubular conductor. The geometries of these elements are such that when the plug and jack are fully joined, the elements are coextensive and butt-mated, without steps, gaps, or other discontinuities. By combining structural functions into the electrical conductors, the present invention allows for fewer parts and shorter mating distances than is available in the prior art. Despite the small Size 20 connectors that are achievable with the present invention, low voltage standing wave ratios (VSWR's) can still be observed through 67 GHz, with theoretical cutoff frequencies in excess of 100 GHz.

Abstract: A housing for mounting a laser diode and a method of aligning the laser diode to the housing and to an optical connector and to a focusing lens. The housing may have a retaining device and a surface, with the retaining device operating to maintain the optical connector against the surface of the housing. An alignment method is disclosed for use with the housing and the retaining device where an image is projected onto a viewing area through an alignment port mounted in the housing. The image relates to the position and tilt of the laser diode in the housing.
