Abstract: An optical switch system has a plurality of micro mirrors arranged in a plane, and an angle of each of the micro mirrors can be controlled for reflecting an optical signal entered from one or more input ports so that the reflected optical signal enters a selected output port of one or more output ports. The optical switch system includes a storage portion for storing connection information between the input port and the output port, a correction quantity obtaining portion for obtaining a correction quantity for a cross talk generated between neighboring micro mirrors among the plurality of micro mirrors, a computing portion for determining a controlling quantity of the micro mirror in accordance with the connection information and the correction quantity, and a drive output portion for driving the micro mirror in accordance with the controlling quantity.

Abstract: A golf club head having a recess located in a top portion thereof is described and claimed. The recess is located between the heel and the toe and extends toward the sole. The recess may be in the top line of the club head. An insert may be placed within the recess. The insert has a density that is less than the density of the club head body, and the insert preferably is a light-weight insert. The insert may include one or more dampening materials. The recess removes material from the club head, which in turn may do one or more of the following: increase the overall size of the club head, expand the size of the club head sweet spot, lower the club head center of gravity, and/or produce a greater club head moment of inertia. Thus, the recess and insert produce a more forgiving and playable golf club.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of molding cosmetically defect-free golf ball components that contain light stable polyurethane, polyurea, or blends thereof at processing temperatures that are lower than conventional processing temperatures used for aromatic formulations. The present invention also relates to a golf ball component formed by using such a method.

Abstract: A golf ball having a plurality of dimples on its surface, the dimples as a whole are distributed on at least a portion of the golf ball based on Soddy circles. The portion of the golf ball may be triangulated, and Soddy circles may be generated based on the vertices of each triangle. Dimples may then be arranged according to the generated Soddy circles. Alternately, dimples within the portion of the golf ball may be distributed based on circle packing.

Abstract: In an access portion of a LAN, traffic of a received packet is detected, whether or not the traffic exceeds a predetermined threshold is determined, packet information specific to the received packet is acquired when it is determined that the traffic exceeds the threshold, and an occurrence of a loop connection is determined when the packet information acquired is compared with packet information previously held and a number of conformity thereof amounts to a predetermined number within a predetermined time.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a control rod blade for a boiling water reactor. The control rod blade (2) comprises a free edge portion with a recess (7) which comprises a plurality of outlets, arranged in a row, for channels (3), which are arranged to receive an absorber material (10) and a cover element (4) arranged to be attached along at least a section of the edge portion. The cover element (4) comprises a cover portion (12) arranged to seal the opening of the recess (7) and a support portion (13) arranged to, in a mounted state, abut a bottom surface in the recess (7) and to allow the formation of at least a passage (16) between the outlets of the channel (3) in the recess (7).
Abstract: A distortion compensation apparatus shortens the time until start of the transmission. The distortion compensating apparatus for amplifying the transmitted signal after implementation of the distortion compensation process thereto comprises a coefficient memory operable to store coefficients used for the distortion compensation process, an initial value memory operable to store the initial values of the coefficients, and a controller which controls the coefficient memory to store, with limitation, only the coefficients corresponding to the first portion among those stored in the initial value memory for the initial write to the coefficient memory and to store thereafter the coefficients corresponding to the second portion.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a query generator for generating a query for obtaining selected data from a database. The query generator includes a processor which is adapted to receive an input indicating the selected data to be obtained. The processor then analyses the input to determine whether the input requires a joining of data in different tables, and an aggregation step. If so, the processor generates a query which causes the database to aggregate the data within each of the tables as required; and, join the aggregated data, the joined aggregated data representing the selected data.

Abstract: In the ring type optical communication system of the present invention, in each OADM arranged on a ring network, an optical signal which has the same wavelength as the add wavelength assigned to a local node, of the optical signals of each wavelength contained in WDM light input from on the ring, is extracted from a drop port Pd without being terminated by a rejection/add filter, and input to an optical switch. In the optical switch, either one of the optical signal extracted from the rejection/add filter, or the add light added onto the ring from the local node, is selected, and the selected light is applied to the add port Pa of the rejection/add filter. As a result, communication between a central station and optional OADM nodes, and multicast communication over a plurality of ring networks can be realized by means of a simple node configuration.
