  • Patent number: 7632195
Abstract: A golf club head and a method for forming a golf club head are disclosed. The golf club head may include a low density portion and a high density portion. The high density portion includes at least a sole, a face, and at least one support member. The support member is operatively connected to the face and the sole, and maintains the structural integrity of the golf club head. The low density portion comprises the crown and the skirt of the club head. When the low density portion is attached to the at least one support member, a golf club head may be formed. In this manner, the center of gravity of the club head may be lowered and moved away from the face of the club.

  • Patent number: 7627244
Abstract: An optical transmission apparatus comprises a preamplifier controlling unit for controlling a preamplifier so that amplified spontaneous emission including all wavelength bands of a wavelength-multiplexed signal beam is outputted toward a wavelength demultiplexing unit, with the wavelength-multiplexed signal beam not inputted, power monitors for monitoring optical powers of the amplified spontaneous emission fed from the preamplifier and wavelength-demultiplexed by the wavelength demultiplexing unit, and a determining unit for determining the continuity state of an optical propagation path of each wavelength component on the basis of a result of monitoring by the power monitors. The optical transmission apparatus allows the continuity test on optical propagation paths of channels including a channel not used at the time of a start of the operation to be made easier than the known techniques.

  • Patent number: 7621101
Abstract: A one layer building panel derives its structural integrity from a foam forming the layer that bonds to horizontal and vertical stud members with a mesh material disposed therein. The vertical members can be provided at the edges of the building panel. The horizontal members can be provided at the edges of the building panel and together with the vertical member form a peripheral frame for the building panel. The foam is bonded to the horizontal and vertical stud members using above ambient temperatures and pressures. Building panels can be connected to one another to construct a building wall and ceiling using stud members having an interlocking capabilities. The building panels can be inserted into tracks secured to a floor using anchors.

  • Patent number: 7620321
Abstract: An optical transmitting apparatus is configured such that K pieces of output ports of optical path switching units whose input port is connected to k-th input transmission path are connected to first to K-th output transmission paths except for the k-th output transmission path and to the k-th input port of a dropping unit, and the optical path switching units and the dropping unit outputs light of wavelength which is part or all of WDM light received from said input port from a specific output port, and can output light having a wavelength different from that of the light output from said specific output port from an output port different from said specific output port. Accordingly, while largely reducing the number of optical fiber patch cords necessary in an optical transmitting apparatus and largely reducing the number of spare ports, the flexible expansion of apparatus function can be realized.

  • Patent number: 7620635
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for allocating data mining processing tasks that does not use complex internal schemes, yet results in better performance than is possible with general-purpose operating system based schemes. The present invention uses a data mining agent that operates autonomously, proactively, reactively, deliberatively, and cooperatively to allocate and reallocate data mining processing tasks among computer systems, and/or among processors. The data mining agent reacts to its own environment, determines if a data mining activity can be completed as expected, solicits bids from other data mining agents, determines if another data mining system could complete the data mining activity and migrates that data mining activity to the selected data mining system.

  • Patent number: 7620043
Abstract: A hash function for a MAC bridge filter that improves bridge performance by reducing overflow of the MAC bridge database and which reduces cost of the device by using relatively few hardware resources. A CRC hash function is used to randomize the search string in the MAC bridge filter so that a consistent bridge performance is achieved regardless of where the bridge is used. Using the CRC as a hash function also results in efficient hardware implementation. In addition, the present invention may be generalized to use a CRC-M as hash function for any bridge filter design.

  • Patent number: 7620609
Abstract: A configuration that minimizes cost subject to the constraints is selected. A Simple Genetic Algorithm (SGA) is modified to incorporate the handling of constraints. The SGA is further modified to incorporate Optimal-Storage-Profiling to produce an increased number of fit individuals in each generation, developing a policy which will consider configurations of all storage-consumption levels and favor those configurations whose storage-consumption indicate they more likely to be strong candidates. An ideal-distribution of configurations, based on their storage-consumption, for each generation is developed. Different elitist policies are also incorporated to achieve greater scalability without sacrificing the quality of the solution.

  • Patent number: 7613251
Abstract: The apparatus includes: distortion amount detector which detects the amount of distortion of an output signal of an amplifier; parameter holder which holds a parameter having been set therein, the parameter holder being capable of varying the difference according to the parameter set therein; parameter corrector which corrects the parameter held in the parameter holder in such a manner that the distortion amount detected by the distortion amount detector is improved; noise component detector which detects a noise component that can be caused in the output signal resulting from a quadrature modulation; and noise component remover which performs processing for removing the noise component detected by the noise component detector. This arrangement makes it possible to suppress image frequency component generation in an output signal of the amplifier accompanying quadrature modulation and to optimize parameters in distortion compensation.

  • Patent number: 7609982
Abstract: A received RZ-DPSK signal is guided to an interferometer. The interferometer comprises a 1-bit delaying element in an upper arm. A balanced photodiode converts a pair of optical signals output from the interferometer into electrical signal. A high-pass filter, which has a cut-off frequency equal or approximately equal to the symbol rate of transmission data, filters the signal output from the balanced photodiode. A BPSK demodulator circuit demodulates the output signal of the high-pass filter.

  • Patent number: 7606967
Abstract: In a frame transfer method and apparatus, a data entry into a content addressable memory is set to enable, and upon receipt of a transfer frame addressed to a first apparatus from a line bus, header information of the frame is entered into the content addressable memory based on the setting that the entry is enabled. The frame prepared based on header information entered into a content addressable memory of a second apparatus and transmitted by the second apparatus can be used, and the frame is discarded when it is not addressed to the first apparatus. Furthermore, normal frame processing is performed when the entry is not enabled by the setting.

  • Patent number: 7593932
Abstract: The invention relates to improved solutions for information retrieval, wherein the information is represented by digitized text data. This data is further presumed to be organized in terms (431-438), documents and document corpora, where each document contains at least one term (431-438) and each document corpus contains at least one document. Based on a concept vector (420-424), which conceptually classifies the contents of each document, a term-to-concept vector is generated for each term (431-438) in the document corpus. The term-to-concept vector describes a relationship between the term (431) and each of the concept vectors (420-424). On basis of the term-to-concept vectors for the document corpus, a term-term matrix is generated which describes a term-to-term relationship between all the terms (431-438) in the document corpus.
