Abstract: A mattress pad particularly adopted to prevent decubitus ulcers of a person laying thereon wherein there are a head section and a feet and legs section having similar top configurations and an intermediate torso support insert section therebetween of a top configuration different than said other two sections. The insert section is capable of being a replaceable insert within said pad or permanently affixed thereto.

Abstract: A soil cap for a vegetation water sprinkler which is removably secured to a sprinkler and said cap will prevent entry of soil or debris during installation of a ground sprinkler system yet has a yieldable portion to allow water therethrough for testing and purging the sprinkler system. The cap includes relatively shallow threads to engage sprinkler threads that will allow for easy finger removal yet will retain the cap in place during water pressure testing and purging.

Abstract: A spool for a fishing reel made of engineering polymer and fitted on a shaft for rotation. The shaft may include a number of peripheral protrusions therearound to present a greater linear surface of contact to assure a bonding of the polymer and shaft to withstand lateral line pressure and to aid in reducing the shrinkage of the polymer during drying in the molding process or other locking means may be employed to prevent movement.

Abstract: Target and automatic reset apparatus which includes a reuseable target for use with firearms that includes motor and clutch means associated with the target that upon the target being struck and pivoting from the vertical will raise the same back to the vertical for reuse. There are trip means associated with the target means to cause clutch engagement and chain means linking the clutch means and target means to effect reelevation of the target means. The apparatus may be self contained with batteries therein to activate the motor.

Abstract: A pipe hook element including a protective boot wherein the material of the boot is resilient and will prevent damage to a pipe being lifted by a pair of pipe hooks through conventional hoisting apparatus. The protective boot is of such a character and shape to be replaceable upon wear and may also include additional protective material of preferably a different material than the boot for use in protecting critical areas of the pipe upon lifting contact.

Abstract: A security deposit bag for negotiable instruments which preferable includes a section to receive a single form of negotiable instrument and a deposit slip for that form of negotiable instrument in which the bag is tamper proof and if unlawfully opened the same may be visually detected upon inspection. The bag may also have two sections wherein negotiable instruments of two different forms may be inserted such as cash and checks.

Abstract: An adjustable roof scaffold jack means for mounting on a pitched roof that includes adjustment means coupled to a support member adapted to be leveled to the horizontal for receiving a platform for workman to use in working on a vertical or angular surface adjacent to said pitched roof. The means include a base for mounting on the roof and a hinged support member with the adjustment means extending therebetween. The jack means when used with additional jack means forming a base for receiving platforms and conventional scaffold means which are tied together to present a safe area for receiving platforms for workmen to stand on.

Abstract: A medical aspirator system which includes an automatic valve means, suction pump, waste receptacle and a bypass means to move such blood and other material from a wound or operation area without allowing the blood and other material entry into the automatic valve means. The bypass means utilizes camming operations to open and close air suction and air discharge lines by pinching action.

Abstract: An adjustable guard rail stanchion member for use on pitched or flat roofs with clamping means to engage a rafter of a roof or elevated floor. Adjustable means are provided to assure a vertical position of a portion of the stanchion member yet allowing another portion to be angled to the pitch of the rafter. In addition the stanchion member is spaced outwardly of the roof or floor so as to not interfere with roofing operations.

Abstract: A template of translucent material is employed to simulate on a reduced scale the over-lay material to be applied to a floor area as it is illustrated by a drawing on the same scale as the template. The template is supplied in roll form or sheet material and is of a width proportionate on the aforesaid scale, to the width of the over-lay material to be applied to the floor. In order to realize all of the advantages of the invention, this template also carries indicia indicative of the subdivisions of the scale to which it is made and orientation indicia which may conveniently be so spaced as to serve as scaling indicia as well. The under side of the template carries an adhesive of the type known as a repositioning adhesive by means of which the template may be removably adhered to the drawing of the floor area and repositioned thereon at will.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improvement in a capillary tube viscometer which includes light sensitive triggering means for timing the flow of oil between two points therein. The improvement includes optic fibers that are positioned on the tube at selected places. In addition, the tube includes impulse receiving means wherein the voltage received from start and stop positions are passed to triggering means and measuring means to translate the same into figures for manual or automatic calculation of time for the flow of oil.

Abstract: A brake cable coupling means for a rear wheel scissor hand brake activated by a cable which is pulled away from the brake to cause the scissoring against the rear wheel rim. The brake cable coupling means includes an inner rotatable member slidably mounted on the stem of the front fork of the bicycle and a separate cable portion extending to a hand brake handle mounted on the handle bar. An outer sleeve member surrounds the inner rotatable member with another cable portion secured thereto and extending to said brake. Alternatively bearing means may be interposed between the inner member and the outer sleeve or form a part of said outer sleeve. The inner sleeve member includes means to move said outer sleeve and said bearing means vertically upwardly therewith to activate said brake. The brake cable coupling means is activatable no matter what degree of rotation the front wheel of the bicycle is turned relative to the location of the respective cable portions.

Abstract: A cutting device with a safety lip to prevent the end of a blade of the device from causing injury to a limb when a wrapping or bandage is being cut therefrom.The device includes a handle and at one end there is mounted a cutting blade having a point and the point is covered by a blunt lip which engages the skin and will prevent injury as the blade is moved along the limb.In addition, the end of the handle where the blade is mounted is concave and acts as a surface to prevent bunching of the wrappings being cut.

Abstract: This is a bicycle sprocket chain cleaner that includes a housing and a removable cover wherein the chain while still on the bicycle is placed in the housing and the cover is placed on the housing to enclose a portion of the chain. The chain may then be rotated in a counterclockwise manner wherein it passes through the cleaner and is cleaned of dirt and other foreign matter.Within the housing there is a solvent reservoir and a plurality of brush members adapted to contact the chain and clean the same. Some of the brushes will wick the solvent to the chain to assist in cleaning the same.In addition there is a solvent drain means associated with the housing to assure the chain is drained of solvent as it leaves the cleaner.

Abstract: A trigger to activate a supercoolable aqueous salt solution wherein the trigger and solution are encased within a flexible container. The trigger is a flexible relatively thin sheet of material wherein there are a plurality of activator cuts that extend through the thin sheet material and the shape of each slit includes a first or central slit and a minor slit that extends through the thin sheet material at one end of said first slit and at an angle to the direction of the major slit. In addition the method of making the trigger is accomplished by punching, forming, dishing and cutting the end product to its exterior dimension.

Abstract: An agricultural liquid spraying system including a liquid source and retrieval vehicle and a movable base member, the movable base member includes base mounted wheels, a liquid tower, a rotatable seat mounted on the tower, a rotatable nozzle mounted on the upper end of the tower, and a directional control arm secured to the nozzle for manipulation by a person located in the rotatable seat, the tower capable of being partially collapsed for transporting the movable base member.

Abstract: A retractable vehicle step assembly suited for recreational vehicles secured to the under-frame of a vehicle below an access door. The assembly includes a frame and a pivotally mounted step associated with the frame for movement from a first retracted position under the vehicle to a second extended position to act as a step into and out of the vehicle. The step is attached to the door by linkage so that the pivoting of the step corresponds to the opening or closing of the door.

Abstract: Motion sensing apparatus comprise a mercury globule supported on an opaque concave surface having a transparent window at its lowest part. A photocell is exposed to light passing through the window as it is varied by movement of the mercury. The photocell output is passed to one terminal of a comparator, the other terminal of which is energized through a variable resistor by means of which the sensitivity of the comparator to the photocell input may be varied. The comparator output controls pulse generating apparatus which produces output pulses of controllable length or, alternatively, an electronically latched continuous output either of which may control mechanism of any kind.
