Abstract: A practice bat for baseball players including a handle portion, and a weighted end portion interconnected by a resilient spring. The weighted end portion is remote from the hands of the player holding the handle portion so that when the bat is swung the momentum of the weighted end portion will cause it to lag behind and then move ahead of a longitudinal at rest axis of the handle portion causing the player's wrists to break or bend.
Abstract: This invention relates to a bipolar battery with self-perpetuating semi-wedge anodes where electric contact is established between the anode of one cell and the cathode of the adjacent cell through the wall which separates the two cells. The self-perpetuating semi-wedge anodes each have a rectangular triangle as a base, and the self-perpetuation of the wedge is effected by dissolving the anode from one side only, the side where the cathode is placed at the appropriate angle.
Abstract: A multi format shutterless inspection projector for motion picture film whereby the image projected will include a full frame heightwise and margin to margin widthwise to view the picture, sound track and sprocket holes. The apparatus includes condensing lenses, projection lenses and a shutterless film gate mounted therebetween. The illumination means is a strobe light and accompanying apparatus capable of exciting the lamp to micro-second flashes. In addition triggering means is on the projector to fire the strobe light apparatus and the triggering means is geared to the speed of travel of the film through the projector. Further, damping means are provided to control tension on the film as it enters the projector and also there are means to control the speed of the takeup reel motor.
Abstract: A universal joint for a fluid conduit comprises a pair of tubular connectors with cylindrical end portions adapted to be sealingly secured to two adjacent parts of the conduit. A bellows with respective cylindrical ends is sealingly secured within the cylindrical end portions of the tubular connectors, which are also formed with spherically shaped portions fitting one within the other outside the bellows. A spherically shaped load transmitting sleeve is connected to two pairs of diametrically opposed pivots at right angles to each other, with one pair of pivots connecting the sleeve and the outer spherically shaped connector portion, and the other pair of pivots connecting the sleeve and the inner spherically shaped connector portion.
Abstract: A pre-press portable makeready guide for use with any rotary offset press to prepare the press to print documents. The guide includes visual indicia placed thereon as a guide to the operator of the press for settings of various components of the press to carry our printing and other operations. The scale may be rigid or flexible. If the scale is flexible a holder may be used and guide mounted and indexed thereon.
Abstract: The invention includes apparatus for and process of forming a plurality of plastic mounting envelopes from continuous plastic sheet material through cutting the plastic and bead sealing the margins by providing a high energy source to sever the plastic and bond the marginal edge of said plastic without physical contact. The invention also includes said plastic envelopes to serve as mounts and protectors for receiving flat paper objects such as stamps, letters, etc.
Abstract: An alignment strut for use in constructing prefabricated walls comprises a reusable sheet metal strut having an interior pocket accommodating a lumber two by four which serves as a splice bar between adjacent struts and as a brace anchor point. Each strut is provided with means for suspending it on the upper edge of the marginal plates of a prefabricated wall structure and bears against such plates below their upper margins.
Abstract: A folding wheel chair having means (22) to elevate the seat (11) and back rest portion relative to the main frames (2) of the wheel chair is disclosed. The seat portion (11) is mounted to be vertically slidable on a pair of side frames (16). The lower portion of the side frames and the seat portion are interconnected by cross struts. Means (22) elevate the side frames relative to the main frame which carries the wheels (7,8) of the wheel chair so that on elevating the side frames, the side frames and the seat portion (11) raise as a unit together with the cross struts to maintain the wheel chair in the unfolded condition.
Abstract: An onion peeling machine having a wheel for transporting the onions past a series of stations, where the onions are topped and peeled, the outer skins slit longitudinally of the onion, and the skin removed by water jets. The machine also includes separation means to separate the peeled onions from the skins.
Abstract: This invention relates to an evaporative cooler with improved water pump means wherein a single motor will operate the cooler fan and the pump. The water pump is of the impeller type that draws water therein and it will exit by one or more outlets. In addition there are new and unique coupling means which extend from the single motor to the pump whereby activation of the motor will rotate both the pump and a fan forming a part of the evaporative cooler.
Abstract: A consumable depression rail and water stop for concrete building slabs wherein the rail when positioned forms a level for the concrete as it is poured and also acts as a guide to form a depressed area of the slab. The elongated rail also forms a water stop to prevent water from moving from the depressed area into a building. The rail is generally T shaped in cross-section, and may be cut into small pieces which are used as consumable supports for maintaining the rail in a fixed position.
Abstract: A device for analyzing for electrical faults in electromagnetic devices wherein through cradling of said devices electrical circuitry may be affixed thereto which when activated will give off visual light illuminations, ohm meter readings, fault meter readings and oscilloscope readings to convey "open", "short", or "ground" faults or the lack thereof. The circuitry involved includes a potentiometer, amplification elements for the signal passed to the circuitry and the aforementioned meters and scope.
Abstract: A medical aspirator including an automatic valve means to reverse the flow of air upon stoppage of the suction system whereby the stoppage may be dislodged and the normal suction function of the aspirator is reinstituted. The aspirator includes a spring loaded suction responsive trigger means to rotate the valve means.
Abstract: A frame member for a door or window wherein the member is for use within a wall formed of consumable building blocks. The frame member includes upright structural column jambs and a header member extending between the jambs and united thereto and tie means to unite the frame member with the blocks of said wall adjacent thereto.
Abstract: A locking system for retaining a pair of modular wall partitions in locked relationship. The locking system includes a threaded insert means in the first partition end aligned with a bolt extending through the end of the second partition. As the bolt is threaded into the insert the respective ends of the partitions are drawn together to lock the same in a rigid connection one to the other.
Abstract: A light weight metal building truss preferably constructed of 20 gauge steel wherein there are a pair of top chord members and a bottom chord member. The top chord members and bottom chord members are united together at their respective ends forming a triangle. Extending between the top and bottom chord members are supports which are united therewith. The top chord sections in cross section are generally hat shaped being an inverted U with flanges projected from the end of each leg of the U to effect stability of the completed truss.

Abstract: A cabinet for storing and selectively dispensing a variety of paper supplies in web form carries separate boxes of webs on vertically spaced decks of a turntable within the cabinet. The boxes on one deck are offset with respect to the boxes on the other deck so that webs from the lower deck can pass upward between boxes on the upper deck. The ends of webs from all the boxes are held at a common level adjacent the under side of the cabinet top, and a slot in the top permits withdrawal of any web as it is aligned with the slot by rotating the turntable.
Abstract: An internal locking device for telescoping tubular members and method of forming the same. The device includes an inner telescoping member, having an end formed with an annular cam groove of a selected configuration, and a cam element cooperating with said cam groove and outwardly extendable to form a releaseable lock of an outer telescoping tubular member with the inner member when the members are twisted one with the other.
