  • Patent number: 6715890
Abstract: The present invention relates to an adjustable height apparatus applied to a horizontal projector and comprises a shield assembly, a supporting means, a compression link and a lever. When adjusting the projection elevation, an external force is applied on an adjusting button of the top wall of the projector. The compression link, connecting with the button, makes a vertical movement according to the external force and pushes the detent of the lever to depart from contact with the axial height-positioning component. The sleeve extends toward the outside of said shell by the elasticity of a first elastic component for adjusting a suitable height of the bottom base of the supporting means of the projector.

  • Patent number: 6713362
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for forming a non-salicide p+ polysilicon resistor used to replace a N-well resistor. In the low power SRAM process whose window is lower than 0.15 &mgr;m, it is found that non-salicide p+ polysilicon resistor has minor temperature dependence and also has layout benefit. In addition, the non-salicide p+ polysilicon resistor is decreased at high temperature. Therefore, it is good benefit to reduce the RC timing delay, which would compensate the inherent MOS mobility deceleration at high temperature, when the non-salicide p+ polysilicon resistor of the present invention is used to replace the N-well resistor.

  • Patent number: 6701026
Abstract: A lighting normalisation method, apparatus and computer program product are disclosed. First, lighting parameters are estimated (110) optimally based on a shading model. After applying segmentation (120), each generated region is assigned are liability based on the stochastic model of that object. This reliability is used to distinguish (130) shadow from object detail. Regions are then further split and merged (140) according to these reliabilities. Finally, the lighting parameters of these regions are calculated and the object is reconstructed (150) to a normalised lighting condition. This technique can be used for an object recognition system, i.e., face recognition applications, as well as for image enhancement, image retrieval, machine vision and related regions.

  • Patent number: 6697721
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward head-up display based safety devices for use in motor vehicles. The first aspect of the present invention is directed towards facilitating accurate driver operation of a driver operable device deployable in a motor vehicle without the need for a driver to turn his eyes downwards toward its control panel. This can be achieved by either providing an icon representative of the position of a driver's fingertip positioned for operating the driver operable device for superimposition on a head-up display image of the layout of its control panel, or employing a speech recognition module to issue output control signals in accordance with spoken commands. The second aspect of the present invention is directed toward projecting a head-up display image of a driver's rear field of vision including wireframe images of objects located therein.

  • Patent number: 6667763
Abstract: An image-sensor emulating device establishing a link with a host system via the internal bus of the host system. The image-sensor emulating device emulates the functions of image-sensors by programmably generating the relevant image-sensor and timing signals. Alternatively, the timing signals can also be generated from the timing signals outputted by an outside image-sensor. Therefore, the emulating device can generate predetermined image-sensor signals and timing signals such that the debugging process is simplified and the developing efficiency is improved. Moreover, the emulating device according to the present invention can also generate a timing signal serving as a reference timing signal for emulating an image-sensor. The reference timing signal can be used to compare with the actual timing signals of an image-sensor.
