  • Patent number: 7037113
Abstract: An electrical connector comprising a housing having a plurality of conductive element receiving regions within which a plurality of conductive elements are provided. The conductive elements are of a kind formed from an elongate sheet material which has been bent out of plane to define at least a first contact region a second contact region and a beam region intermediate of the first end second regions, the first and second contact regions being in a resiliently movable disposition relative to each other. Each conductive element is captured with the receiving region yet allowing movement of the contact regions relative to the housing. The capture includes the inter-engagement a locking section of conductive element and of the housing as a result of a cantilevered fixing of the conductive element to the housing in the in plane direction and the biasing of the locking section of the conductive element towards inter engagement as a result of the in plane rigidity of the conductive elements.

  • Patent number: 7038814
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for displaying Y-bit coded RGB image data that is received as X-bit coded RGB or YCbCr image data, where X>Y. The method includes receiving X-bit coded image data, where each color channel comprises m-bits; arithmetically processing the image data to include dithering noise values that result in maintaining the luminance of the image data substantially constant; converting the YCbCr image data to RGB image data, and quantizing the image data to Y-bit coded RGB image data where each color channel comprises n-bits. For example, X=24 and Y=12. The step of arithmetically processing includes, for the RGB case and for each pixel, generating an integer random number lying in the range of [?Q/2 . . . Q/2], where Q is a quantization step size; adding the random number to each of the Red and Blue color channels, and subtracting the random number from the Green color channel; and truncating and clipping the result in each color channel. Preferably, Q=2(m?n).

  • Patent number: 7031290
Abstract: A method is disclosed for operating a synchronous space division multiple access, code division multiple access communications system. The method operates, within a coverage area of a base station (BS) or radio base unit (RBU) having a multi-element antenna array, to assign spreading codes to users. The method estimates a spatial signature vector (SSV) for a current subscriber station; uses the estimated SSV as a weight vector when determining the output power that is correlated with each of a plurality of spreading code sequences and assigns a spreading code to the current subscriber station that is determined to have the minimum output power. The step of determining the output power includes steering a beamformer toward the current subscriber station by setting the weight vector equal to the SSV, and also determines the average squared value of the antenna array output that has been despread using a code i.

  • Patent number: 7027783
Abstract: A method is disclosed for operating a radio frequency transmitter chain component, as is a radio frequency transmitter chain component that operates in accordance with the method. The method includes receiving an input signal to be mixed with a signal output from an oscillator, where the input signal is received through an operational amplifier. The method further includes applying an output of the operational amplifier to an input of a mixing circuit, rectifying the input signal to produce a rectified input signal and controlling a common-mode output voltage of the operational amplifier with the rectified input signal. This process varies the power consumption of the component in a manner that is proportional to a value of the input signal. A further step couples a mixer output signal to an input of a VGA. The component may include both the mixer and the VGA. In the preferred embodiment the input signal and the mixer output signal are differential signals.
