  • Patent number: 4302164
Abstract: A hose pump comprising a number of movable pressure elements composed of a first pressure device and a second pressure device. The first pressure device is constituted by an element which is movable to-and-fro with respect to a counter pressure surface and the second pressure device contains elements movable to-and-fro with respect to a hose. The pressure devices are arranged next to one another and are driven by a common drive, in order to rhythmically compress the hose within two neighboring regions. The drive comprises cam discs structured to correspond to the number of pressure elements, the apex of crown points of the cam discs being mutually offset with respect to one another, in order to rhythmically compress the hose which is placed in the hose pump, and thus, to convey the medium which is to be pumped.

  • Patent number: 4302772
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the televisual inspection of the inner surface of a closed cylindrical vessel having a vertical axis and having an access hole in its upper part. The device comprises a television camera and at least one floodlight for lighting the area to be inspected. The camera is suspended from a flexible tube which is rigid under torsion and through the inside of which pass electricity supply cables for the camera and the floodlight. The flexible tube is guided and orientated over its path from the outside into the interior of the vessel by a rigid tubular guide, and means are provided for causing the flexible tube to rotate about its axis, for releasably holding the tube and the camera against axial movement, for precisely identifying angular and vertical positions of the camera, and for centering the camera in the vessel. The device is particularly applicable to the inspection of pressurizers of a pressurized water nuclear reactor.

  • Patent number: 4300331
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically packing record discs comprises a record disc table adapted to receive thereon a record disc to be packed, an inner bag stock section disposed opposite the table and stocking therein a number of inner bags in stacked arrangement, a mechanism for holding the inner bag with its unsealed edge open, which mechanism comprises a pair of arm members adapted to enter at the uppermost inner bag in the inner bag stock section through the unsealed edge thereof and to support the inner bag at the opposite ends of the unsealed edge thereof, and a mechanism for moving the holding mechanism together with the inner bag toward the table. The moving mechanism draws the inner bag over the record disc on the table and in this way the record disc is in effect inserted into the inner bag to obtain a packed record disc while the record disc remains stationary on the table. The resulting package is thereafter inserted into an empty jacket.

  • Patent number: 4299302
Abstract: An improved power steering device which has a pinion shaft connected with a steering wheel, a rack rod which is connected with steerable wheels and whose rack is in mesh with the pinion of the pinion shaft in the gear box, a power cylinder for hydraulically actuating the rack rod, and a changeover valve for selectively connecting the first and second hydraulic chambers of the power cylinder with the hydraulic pressure source and the oil reservoir. The pinion shaft is rotatably supported in the oscillating cage which is rotatably mounted on the gear box in a manner such that the axis of the oscillating cage is offset a certain distance from the axis of the pinion shaft, whereby the oscillating cage rotates about its axis when the steering torque is applied to the pinion shaft. The oscillating cage is connected with the changeover valve so that the latter is actuated by the rotary movement of the oscillating cage.

  • Patent number: 4299657
Abstract: In a process for running a nuclear reactor cooled with light water, by displacing control rods and modifying the physical and/or chemical state of the coolant, the value of the running parameters of the reactor are continuously measured and recorded and the parameters describing the state of the reactor core are calculated for each substantial modification of the running parameters. The parameters describing the state of the core are measured at defined intervals of time and the calculated parameters are replaced by the measure parameters. The modified parameters resulting from predetermined sequences of action taken on the control rods or the coolant, and the action which must be taken on the running parameters in order to comply with a given program, are calculated by way of predictions. Action is taken on the control rods and the coolant in accordance with the results of the calculation.
