  • Patent number: 4299473
Abstract: An electrophotographic copying machine in which a thick sheet of small size such as a postcard is used as a transfer sheet. Transfer sheets stored in a tray are fed one after another as the copying operation proceeds, to a treating station such as a transfer section. The transfer sheet is brought into a temporary waiting condition on a carrying means provided in front of a transfer means and is again transported when a stopper provided in connection with the carrying means is retracted from the transportation passage in response to a synchronous signal. The carrying means is brought into its operative condition prior to the retraction of the stopper so that the transfer sheet is again transported at a constant speed.

  • Patent number: 4298318
Abstract: A rotary valve for changing the connections of the fluid inlet passages and the fluid outlet passages of a Gerotor type fluid rotary machine in which the fluid is contracted and expanded by a plurality of cavities defined by the teeth formed on a stator and a rotor in response to the orbital rotation of the rotor formed with one less external tooth than the number of the internal teeth on the stator. The rotary valve selectively connects the fluid passages with the Gerotor cavities by means of its rotary commutator which orbits with a phase difference of 90.degree. with respect to the Gerotor rotor, and the commutator is rotatably accommodated in a spacer disposed between an end cover and a port member having a plurality of fluid passages. The clearance at each side of the commutator is permanently determined by the width of the spacer.

  • Patent number: 4298102
Abstract: A shock absorber has expansion and compression damping characteristics readily adjustable, if required, to different extents. In one preferred form, it includes an adjustable orifice associated with a piston, and the orifice includes an annular flexible valve element and a valve-seat member engageable with the inner peripheral edge thereof. The valve-seat member is formed at the bottom with feet which are arranged opposite to a stepped or continuously inclined annular top surface portion of the piston and is axially movable for engagement with the latter. The amount of axial movement of the valve-seat member and hence that of deflection of the valve element is adjustable by rotation of the valve-seat member relative to the piston through provision therefor at the top of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4298276
Abstract: A cassette roll sheet feeding apparatus for feeding a roll sheet from a cassette after the roll sheet cassette is loaded in a copying machine employs a sheet guide. The sheet guide is near a sheet outlet having at least one opening. An assembly such as a roller rotatably journaled by a shaft, serves to assist the feeding of the roll sheet through the outlet and is urged against the sheet guide through the leading end of the roll sheet.A sheet feed roller is in the copying machine body and projects through the opening in the sheet guide to hold the sheet in cooperation with the roller, when the cassette is mounted in the copying machine body. The sheet is held at the leading end portion when the cassette is removed from the copying machine body.

  • Patent number: 4298378
Abstract: A converter vessel is coaxially surrounded by a trunnion ring carried by a pair of trunnions for rotary or tilting motion about a horizontal axis. In order to permit rotation of the vessel relative to the trunnion ring about the vessel axis at right angles with the noted horizontal axis, two annular rows of support elements such as rollers are mounted on the trunnion ring and engaged with respective annular tires on the vessel so as to bear its radial load. Two other annular rows of rollers or like support elements are also mounted on the trunnion ring and engaged with the respective tires so as to bear the axial vessel load. Several identical drive mechanisms are compactly mounted within the trunnion ring for revolving the vessel through a gear drive, friction drive, or chain drive.

  • Patent number: 4296972
Abstract: An anti-skid brake control device including a wheel cylinder having defined therein a first hydraulic chamber connected with a brake fluid line extending from the master cylinder and a second hydraulic chamber connected with a pressure controlling fluid circuit. As the brake fluid line is isolated from the pressure controlling circuit by the output member of the wheel cylinder, the brake system can operate effectively, though in a conventional manner, should oil leakage occur in the controlling circuit. On a four-wheeled vehicle, each pair of front or rear wheel cylinders can be served by a common arrangement of such pressure controlling circuit for anti-skid control.
