  • Patent number: 4227180
Abstract: A centralized monitor and control system includes a plurality of pairs of link lines which connect, in matrix form, a plurality of alarm switches, controlled devices, etc., installed at an alarming terminal end with a plurality of alarm display devices, starting control switches, etc., installed at a receiving end in correspondence with the devices at the terminal end, whereby the display devices adapted to be actuated by the alarm switches or the controlled devices adapted to be actuated by the control devices are operated in response to sequential scanning of the one link lines of the paired link system, thus decreasing the number of the link lines used. The number of the link lines used can be decreased further by effecting the sequential scanning by means of a parallel set of binary coded pulse signals and by connecting the one link line array of the matrix to the alarm switches or the controlled devices and the display devices or the control switches through logical circuits.

  • Patent number: 4225308
Abstract: A pneumatic laminar motor, for dental purposes, having a sleeve-like housing forming the stator with circular cylindrical inside wall and a rotor inside touching that wall. The rotor has a diameter smaller than the inside wall and its rotary axis is parallel to, but displaced from the axis of the inside wall. The lengthwise slots of the rotor has radially movable lamellas with their outer ends pointing to the inside wall. An air inlet opening from the air supply conduit and an air outlet opening discharge into the space between rotor and inside wall. A freely rotating bearing ring is located between the inside wall and the outer ends of the lamellas and is coaxial with the inside wall. The outer ends of the lamellas contact the bearing ring. Compressed air enters through the air inlet opening into the space between rotor and inside wall and pushes the nearest lamella ahead of it to turn the motor.

  • Patent number: 4225124
Abstract: A mechanism for transforming a translation movement into a rotation movement which is then followed by a translation movement comprising a first member which can be a control member slidable on a smooth shaft and constituted by a hollow cylinder coaxial with the shaft, and terminated by two planar symmetrical faces which are inclined with respect to the shaft, and a second member which can be a driven member and fixed to the shaft. The second member is constituted by two hollow cylinders coaxial with the shaft and of the same diameter as the control member. Each hollow cylinder terminates with a planar face having the same inclination with the shaft as the faces of the control member, the planar faces of the hollow cylinders being in contact with respective faces of the control member. The two planar faces of the driven member are angularly offset relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 4224727
Abstract: A master cylinder body including a cylindrical-shaped inner section of uniform wall thickness formed as by die-casting and an outer section cast on the inner section around the periphery thereof. The extreme simplicity in configuration of the inner section enables it to be formed with no casting defects such as shrinkage cavities which may result in oil leakage therethrough. The inner section and the outer one cast thereon become solidly fused together at the cylindrical interface therebetween as long as the materials used are of the same metallurgical type. Formation of a multitude of annular or helical ridges on the outer periphery of the inner body section further ensures the solid interconnection between the two body sections.

  • Patent number: 4224661
Abstract: An externally commutated compensation-type converter system comprises a control unit which connects a main and an additional bridge, each built around controlled semiconductor rectifiers. Shunt capacitors are coupled in parallel with respective a-c terminals of the main bridge and series capacitors are placed between respective a-c terminals of the main and the additional bridge. A smoothing reactor connects respective d-c terminals of the main and the additional bridge, said d-c terminals being arranged to interconnect one another. Terminals of the series capacitors, the a-c terminals of the main bridge and terminals of two respective shunt capacitors, which interconnect one another, are used to form common a-c terminals coupled to an a-c mains. According to the proposed method providing for forced commutation and blocking of the rectifiers of the converter system, the shunt and series capacitors, after they have been charged, are coupled to the rectifiers being blocked.
