Abstract: The invention relates to a device for treatment of drilling mud and cuttings, comprising a screen, a centrifuge (10), a degassing system (6), a discharge system directing the drilling mud back to the active drilling mud system (13, 14), a transport system (17) transporting the cuttings. The screen is a rotating drum (3), and the drum is situated in a mainly enclosed housing (1) with the housing being connected to a vacuum suction system. The solid material discharge from the rotating drum (3) is connected to a downstream centrifuge (10), by a mainly enclosed pipe system (9). A weighing cell (16) for cuttings is connected to the centrifuge (10).
Abstract: Artificial human skin is disclosed which is based on: (a) a microperforated membrane based on a hyaluronic acid derivative on which keratinocytes have been seeded and cultured; (b) an underlying non-woven tissue based on a hyaluronic acid derivative wherein fibroblasts have been seeded and left to proliferate. The artificial human skin may be used in medical, surgical, diagnostic and controlled release drug delivery applications. The artificial human skin may be safely frozen to -80.degree. C. or stored in liquid nitrogen in order to have a skin tissue bank.

Abstract: The process for the production of hydroxy aromatic substances by means of catalytic oxidation of isoalkyl aromatic substance with oxygen, and decomposition of the hydroperoxide thus formed, is based on the concept that isoalkylaromatic substances are emulsified with an aqueous catalyst solution and brought to a temperature ranging from 50.degree. C. up to the boiling temperature of the emulsion; thereupon the oxygen is allowed to act for 2 to 20 hours and the hydroperoxide formed decomposed, in the presence of an inorganic acid as catalyst, into an hydroxyaromatic substance and a ketone.

Abstract: The invention provides a delayed-pulse controlled release pharmaceutical tablet having:(a) from 20 to 60 wt. % of a low molecular weight hydroxypropyl cellulose having a number average molecular weight of 70,000 to 90,000;(b) from 4 to 10 wt. % of a high molecular weight hydroxypropyl cellulose having a number average molecular weight of 1,100,000 to 1,200,000;(c) a pharmacologically acceptable amount of a medicament; and(d) an inert solid diluent.
Abstract: A three stages process for the preparation of solid thermoplastic compositions based on polyvinyl alcohol comprising the mixing in a mixer of a first charge, comprising the polyvinyl alcohol and solid plasticizers, with a second charge constituted by one or more hydroxylated organic compounds selected from glycols, glycol ethers and alkanolamines and at least a salt of an alkaline and/or alkaline earth metal, and a third charge containing at least one or more solid polyhydroxylated alcohols, glycols and glycolic ethers, liquid alkanolamines, organic or inorganic mineral acids, hydrated inorganic salts, polymers having a low molecular weight, stabilizers and possible mineral charges, is described.
Abstract: Threads (15) are handled in spiralling or covering machines with improved efficiency by replacing traditional bobbins (20) with double-coned bobbins (10) which include flanges (22) at both ends and by providing that the outside edges of the flanges do not project beyond the level of the unwinding thread.
Abstract: A controlled release pharmaceutical tablet containing antihyperglycemic drug and a hypoglycemic drug that does not contain an expanding or gelling polymer layer and comprising a core containing the antihyperglycemic drug and the hypoglycemic drug, a semipermeable coating membrane surrounding the core and at least one passageway in the membrane to allow the drugs to be released from the core.

Abstract: An improved self-wound roll of a pressure sensitive adhesive coated laminate comprising a substrate which becomes dimensionally-unstable under normal processing conditions, e.g., printing, at least one layer comprising a continuous film of a normally dimensionally stable polymer adhesively fixed to one or both sides of the substrate thereby stabilizing it during processing, a transparent flexible release layer of a resin on the outwardly facing surface of the laminate, and a layer of a modified pressure sensitive adhesive on the inwardly facing surface of the substrate. The laminate can be processed without distortion, wound into rolls, unwound and applied to a surface to be decorated without delamination or shrinkage and without distortion of printed indicia, and it ultimately can be stripped without damage to the surface.
