  • Patent number: 4847917
Abstract: A glove adapted to have releasably secured thereto an ornamental accessory. There is provided fastener means having a pair of complementary fastener portions adapted to be selectively engagable or disengagable for securing or releasing said fastener portion, respectively. One of said fastener portions is secured to the inside of said glove and the other of said fastener portions is adapted to be secured to said ornamental accessory. In this way any selected one of a plurality of ornamental accessories provided with said other of said fastener portions is adapted to be releasably secured to the glove to form a glove and accessory combination which simulates a glove having an accessory permanently secured thereto by stitching.

  • Patent number: 4826695
Abstract: A beverage infusion device for preparing a beverage such as coffee includes a gas-liquid chamber permeable to air and water which contains an infusible, insoluble dry beverage substance containing edible, soluble food solids, such as coffee particles, and a carbon dioxide source which releases carbon dioxide when immersed in liquid, such as water. When the infusion device is immersed in water, the carbon dioxide source, preferably situated beneath the coffee particles, releases carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide bubbles up through the coffee particles, momentarily suspending and agitating the coffee particles. Maximum contact between water and coffee particles is achieved and the edible, soluble food solids are quickly extracted from the coffee particles to form a hot beverage. Also disclosed is a beverage infusion device including a percolator within a gas-liquid chamber permeable to air and water containing an indusible, insoluble dry beverage substance such as coffee particles.

  • Patent number: 4800776
Abstract: A cover for an automobile steering wheel for improving the grip on the wheel. An endless annular member is defined by a plurality of discrete elements secured in end to end relation for the major extent of the annular member. These elements define stalls adapted to coact with the fingers of the user's hand for facilitating the gripping of the steering wheel. The elements forming the annular member preferably alternate between stretchable members and non-stretchable members although the annular member could be formed by only non-stretchable members secured in end to end relation.

  • Patent number: 4800879
Abstract: A disposable vascular occluding device for temporarily stopping or interrupting blood flow in veins or arteries of the body during vascular surgery and emergency trauma surgery is constructed with two plastic arms connected at one end by a hinge for pivoting the arms towards and away from each other and connected at an end opposite the hinged end by a toothed latch for releasably securing the plastic arms in a closed position with inner surfaces thereof confronting each other. The inner surfaces of the plastics arms have semi-circular cavities formed therein which are shaped to conform to the blood vessel to be occluded. The inner surfaces of the plastic arms are lined by a pair of partially-inflated soft plastic balloons, centered in the cavities, one of which is further inflatable by means of an ordinary syringe through a valve in one of the plastic arms. The device facilitates occlusion of a blood vessel with minimal or no traumatization of the wall of the blood vessel.
