Abstract: A method and system for the controlled application of fluid pressure of a load, such as a large pipe to be pressure tested utilized small pressure converters which are operated by a common controller at the hydraulic side to fill and pressurize the pipe. One pressure converter is decelerated as it approaches the end of its working stroke while the other pressure converter is accelerated so that the total displacement of the pressurizing fluid remains substantially constant over time.

Abstract: The invention relates to a discharge device of an extruding installation (1), particularly provided for producing curved extruded products, that comprises, on a table-like support (8), a channel (7) which accommodates the extruded product. Said channel (7) is provided in the form of a flexible component that can be swung outward from the straight extruding direction (4) thereof.
Abstract: An elastic shaft coupling with high torsional elasticity having segments formed by steel sheet segment plates vulcanized to an elastomeric body and in which blocking elements bridge the radial gaps of the segments of each coupling half so as to brace the plate segments against axial deformation. All of the elastomeric bodies are vulcanized to the segments or to rings from which segments are divided in a common vulcanization procedure.
Abstract: A device for dispensing liquid from a bag has upper and lower casing halves and a closure holding together the casing halves. A pressure piston in the casing can press the bag against the lower casing half. This piston is operated by a rocking lever having an upper end bearing on the upper casing half and a lower end on which the piston is pivoted and a tension spring and flexible element connected between the casing halves and the upper end of the rocking lever and angularly biasing the lever for movement from a generally horizontal position with the piston raised and a tilted position with the piston lowered for applying such a force to the pressure piston that a pressure is generated in the bag that causes the discharge of a constant liquid volume per unit of time.

Abstract: A strapping machine has a housing carrying a mount attachable to an overhead balancer line, tensioning and sealing devices in the housing, and an elongated pivotal handle. An inner handle end is formed with an annular inlet passage and a radially throughgoing inlet port opening into the inlet passage. The handle also is formed with axially extending passages extending from the inlet passage to an outer handle end. A pneumatic motor in the outer handle end drives a transmission in the inner end of the handle in turn drives the devices in the housing. An inlet fitting on the housing is connectable to a compressed-air supply line. A conduit has one end communicating with the inlet fitting and an opposite end opening radially inward into the inlet port of the handle. The outer handle end is formed with an outlet opening for venting air from the motor.
Abstract: The invention refers to the use of a lacrophyl preparation containing lysozyme, tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane, if desired other lacrophyl components, preferably ascorbic acid and/or citric acid and/or ethylenediamine-tetraacetic acid, in the rest distilled water for the dissolution of an active substance being insoluble or only slightly soluble in water or physiological saline, for preparing eye-drops, and/or in case of eye-drops containing an active substance to adjust optionally an active substance medium appropriate to the composition of the native tear and for the microbiological protection of the medium.
Abstract: An object having a top and sides is wrapped by first covering it with a hood-shaped foil such that excess-foil projections are formed that project from the top of the object past the sides of the object. Then the foil is pulled adjacent the projections out of contact with the object to form an empty space adjacent each projection between the foil and the object. The excess-foil projections are then tucked into the respective empty spaces, normally on the sides of the object.

Abstract: The dielectric loaded cavity for high frequency filters consists of a metal container housing s dielectric block held in position by supporting plates, that also sustains coupling and tuning elements. This invention provides broadband filters, small in size and with low losses. Its high symmetry structure considerably reduces the energizing of spurious modes and furthermore facilitates the design using automatic calculation procedures, on the basis of accurate electromagnetic models.

Abstract: The eccentricity of a hollow billet is measured at the outlet of an inclined-roll rolling mill by launching an ultrasonic pulse into the billet from a laser of a measuring device and measuring the transit time of an echo pulse also utilizing a laser and an optical analyzer. The measuring device is moved, during travel of the hollow billet along a path from the rolling mill linearly into the direction of travel or angularly around the hollow billet to eliminate the effect of the internal helical formation of the eccentricity on the measurements. The wall thickness measurements are evaluated by a computer and subjected to Fourier analysis.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the rapid tomographic measurement of conductivity distribution in a sample in which current excitations or voltage excitation is applied to the sample via electrodes or the like and potential differences or magnetic field strengths association with those excitation fields are measured and analyzed, e.g. by a Fourier analysis.

Abstract: An automatic tire-filling apparatus for a motor vehicle has an electronic controller which, in response to sensors for the operating state of the vehicle, controls pneumatic valves for the tires and a compressor to enable the tire pressure to be matched to such conditions as travel speed, vehicle load, roadway conditions and terrain. The compressor is in a normal operating state part of a closed system with the tire and the pressure reservoir and is directly connected to the pressure reservoir without the intermediary of a switching element.

Abstract: In a mixing valve for cold and hot water with thermostatic control of the mixed-water temperature by a thermostat (4) that is connected with a tubular double valve slide (3a, 3b) that is positioned by a temperature selector (5) and that is held in a housing (1) having at least one cold-water inlet (10), one hot-water inlet (11), and one mixed-water outlet (12), the inlet ports (22 and 23) of the mixing valve of the double valve slide (31, 3b) being oppositely controlled at opposite ends, it is suggested that the double valve slide (3a, 3b) have an annular web (31, 31a, 30b) formed with a smaller-diameter partition sleeve (31) that is axially shiftable at least at its end in a bore (24, 26) and that downstream of the inlet ports (22 and 23) the hot water and cold water each flow through respective passages (301) opening into an annular mixing compartment (302) in the web (30, 30a, 30b), the mixing compartment (302) extending radially through the partition sleeve (31) such that exiting mixed water is directed t
Abstract: A flap projecting from a glue joint between two paper strips after an on-the-fly supply roll change is shortened by continuously displacing the strips in a straight line, in a travel direction, and at a travel speed along a path such that the flap lies flatly against an outer face of the strips and engaging at least a part of a separating device against the outer face in the path. At least the part of the separating device engaging the strip is displaced in the travel direction at a speed greater than the travel speed such that, when the separating device engages the flap, the flap is bowed out away from the outer face downstream of the separating device. A blade is juxtaposed with the outer face of the strip immediately downstream of the separating device such that the bowed out flap engages and is cut by the blade.
Abstract: A press has at least two rigid and generally planar platens each comprised of a rigid plate having a face, formed offset from the face with an array of heating passages, and formed with a separate array of grooves open at the face. A cover plate overlying the face is formed at the grooves with an array of throughgoing holes. A heat-exchange fluid is pumped through the heating passages of the core plate to heat the platen and steam is fed into the grooves and through the holes into a workpiece lying on the cover plate.
