  • Patent number: 6918143
Abstract: The invention relates to a seat which can be converted into a bed wherein the back of the seat (4) can be pivoted onto the same level as the seating surface (2) by means of arms (3), said arms (3) being connected on one end to the seat frame (1) and on the other end to the back of the seat (4). Said seating surface (2) is covered with a removable upholstery fabric (15) when the furniture item is in a seating position. The upholstery fabric is joined to the front under surface of the seat frame (1) on one side and is joined on the other side to the underside of the back of the seat (4). A double positioning drill (17) is arranged underneath the upholstery fabric (15), extending exclusively along the seating surface which is preferably joined to padding, and is connected thereto on the front end of the seating surface (2). As a result, a simple way of placing the drill is obtained.

Abstract: Granular ore or ore concentrate is charged into a furnace for calcining the ore at temperatures of 400 to 1050° C., the ore forming a stationary fluidized bed in the furnace. The ore is thrown onto the fluidized bed through an opening in the furnace housing disposed above the fluidized bed, the ore being accelerated by blades of a rotating impeller. The impeller is disposed outside the furnace in the vicinity of the opening of the housing. Preferably, the rotational speed of the impeller is variable, and the impeller is movable and/or pivotable with respect to the furnace.

  • Patent number: 6913049
Abstract: The invention relates to a veneer slicing machine. The output of prior art veneer slicing machines is limited by virtue of the fact that the slideways quickly heat up at a maximum stroke rate. As a result, the maximum permissible temperature of 120° C. is quickly reached thereby making it necessary to shut down the machine in order to permit the slideways to cool. The inventive veneer slicing machine should be able to be used in continuous operation at a maximum stroke rate and thus function without resulting in a loss in quality. To this end, cooling means are arranged on the slideways (16) and are provided in said slideways (16) e.g. in the form of borings (21) through which the coolant circulates whereby enabling heat to be carried away in a well-directed manner.

  • Patent number: 6912806
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for feeding cartridges (15) from magazines to small arms, in particular to rifles with a cartridge feed device (3-7, 25-29), which transports the cartridges from a tubular magazine (11) to the barrel (1) by means of a device, in particular a rocker/spoon (3, 25-29). Said device comprises a breech, which receives the cartridges from the cartridge feed device, slides them into the barrel and closes the latter. The rocker/spoon of the cartridge feed device can be removed from the intermediate chamber between the tubular magazine and the lock (13) and an interchangeable cartridge magazine (16) can be inserted in the empty intermediate chamber (21). In a first embodiment, the rocker (3) can be displaced from a front position into a rear position. In a second embodiment, the rocker (3) can be pivoted from an upper, approximately horizontal position into a lower, approximately perpendicular position.

  • Patent number: 6912800
Abstract: A container which is to be autoclaved has a shiftable plunger that defines a compartment filled with a fluid. The container is confined in a pressurizable chamber and heated so as to change a pressure in the compartment of the container. The pressure in the compartment of the container is monitored and an output corresponding thereto is generated. Pressure in the chamber around the container is continuously varied so as to be generally equal to the instantaneous monitored pressure in the compartment of the container. In this manner the plunger is not moved by thermal expansion or contraction of the fluid.

  • Patent number: 6910736
Abstract: The invention relates to a seat or seat back comprising of seat elements which are arranged to resiliently move with respect to each other and arranged to move with respect to a central axis, running centrally through the seat or seat back parallel to the spine of the occupant in a normally seated position, the first and second seat elements moving in opposite directions on either side of the central axis. The seat elements may rotate and are subject to a restoring force urging them to return them to their rest positions such that the user is able to move in a twisting position and the seat back or seat will also twist with the twisting movement of the user and provide support in the newly adopted position of the user. The seat elements could be formed from a single piece of resilient material.

  • Patent number: 6907668
Abstract: A utility knife has a main housing half formed with a throughgoing aperture, having a face, and formed on the face with a peripheral annular array of transversely projecting hooks each having an outer end and a secondary elongated housing half having a face and formed with a peripheral annular array like the array of the main half of transversely throughgoing undercut holes opening at the respective face. The halves are engageable together at their faces with the hooks projecting into the holes and are relatively shiftable when thus engaged to lock the hooks in the respective holes. The secondary half is formed with an aperture like the aperture of the first half and directly aligned therewith in the assembled position. A retaining member snugly engaged in and through the aligned apertures holds the halves in the assembled position. A blade between the halves projects longitudinally from the housing halves.

  • Patent number: 6902172
Abstract: A drill chuck has a chuck body centered on a longitudinal axis and formed with a plurality of forwardly open angled guides spaced about the axis. Respective jaws displaceable along the guides in the chuck body are each formed with a row of teeth. A tightening sleeve rotatably surrounding the body is axially fixed to a ring rotatable on the body about the axis and formed with a screwthread meshing with the teeth of the jaws so that rotation of the sleeve and ring in one direction moves the jaws radially together and opposite rotation moves them radially apart, A first axially elastically deformable spring seated in the chuck body bears axially forward on the ring, and a second axially elastically deformable spring seated in the chuck body bears axially rearward on the sleeve.
