  • Patent number: 6349707
Abstract: In order to regenerate an activated carbon filter which is seated in a tank vent line, during idling of the internal combustion engine the regeneration valve is brought into the maximum open position, and the throttle valve is simultaneously opened slightly. This produces a higher air mass flow in the intake tract of an internal combustion engine, and the proportion of hydrocarbons introduced by the regeneration remains constant. In order to keep the idling speed of the internal combustion engine constant, a torque reserve is built up, for example by adjusting the ignition angle.

  • Patent number: 6351161
Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a terminal supplying a digital signal, a controllable driver circuit connected to the terminal and outputting the digital signal, and a comparator device. An actuating circuit actuates the driver circuit as a function of a clock signal. The comparator device compares the timing of signal transitions of the clock signal with transitions of the digital signal. The comparator has a first comparator input for receiving the clock signal and a second comparator input connected to the driver output for receiving the digital signal. The comparator device outputs an output signal having a first state if a signal transition of the clock signal at the first input takes place before a signal transition of the digital signal at the second input, and outputs a second state if the clock signal transition takes place after digital signal transition. In a test mode, the invention compares the clock and digital signal timings with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Patent number: 6347497
Abstract: Although hitherto known machine frameworks of O-form are sufficiently stable, they can only be installed subsequently in an assembly station if a conveying belt is disengaged, a belt section is removed, a framework is assembled with the removed belt section, and the two are reintroduced together into the assembly station. Although the machine framework of C-form construction can subsequently be pushed onto the transporting system formed of the conveying belts, it is necessary, for stability reasons, for them to be made of considerably thicker material than the O-frameworks. The intention is therefore to specify a process, for constructing an assembly installation, for which a machine framework of O-form is sufficient and which nevertheless contains the subsequent-fitting advantages exhibited by the C-form. For this purpose, transverse struts of the machine framework are removed. They are fastened on the underside of a conveying-belt section.

  • Patent number: 6348778
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for improving the voltage quality of a secondary power supply unit uses a compensation device with a pulse-controlled power converter which is connected serially to a transmission line through the use of a coupling transformer. Positive and negative phase-sequence system deviations are determined and a basic transmission ratio space-vector is generated from them. Control signals for a pulse-controlled power converter are generated from the basic transmission ratio space-vector through the use of the link voltage of the pulse-controlled power converter. As a result, a compensator voltage is connected serially into the transmission line. A power system voltage of an ideal power supply system is thus generated for a secondary power supply unit from a distorted power system voltage.

  • Patent number: 6347582
Abstract: The imprint printing system allows imprinter head changes on the run. A printing roller, either an offset or a flexo printing roller, has an axial channel in which one or more imprinter heads are disposed. The imprinter heads can be selectively raised out of the channel so that the print surface projects radially above the periphery of the printing roller. In a variation of the basic concept, the imprinter heads are also axially movable along the axial channel. The individual heads can thereby be brought into a printing section defined by the location at which the product is to be imprinted. The respective imprinter head is raised for printing only in the printing section, while the other heads are withdrawn into the channel.

  • Patent number: 6347513
Abstract: In a method for regenerating a NOx storage catalytic converter disposed in an engine exhaust operating with air excess, in operating ranges, the improvement includes storing NOx in the exhaust gas in the converter in a storage phase and catalytically converting the stored NOx in a regeneration phase. The signal of the NOx sensor disposed downstream of the converter is detected in the operating range of the overrun fuel cut-off and an average/minimum value is formed from the individual measured values. The average/minimum value is stored as an offset value of the sensor signal. In operating ranges beyond the engine overrun fuel cut-off, the signal of the NOx sensor is detected and the offset value is taken into account when the signal is processed further, in that the offset-corrected signal is compared with a threshold value. In the event that the threshold value is exceeded, a regeneration phase of the converter is initiated.

  • Patent number: RE37554
Abstract: The optoelectronic semiconductor component has an optoelectronic semiconductor chip disposed on a chip carrier with an approximately planar chip carrier surface. The semiconductor chip is fastened with predetermined alignment of its optical axis. A plastic base part supports the chip carrier. The semiconductor chip is electrically conductively connected to at least two electrode terminals routed through the base part, and a lens is disposed above the semiconductor chip on top of the base part. The lens is formed with an independently configured cap produced from plastic material. The cap is mechanically form-locked to a support of the base part. When the cap is placed onto the base part, a holder of the cap and the support engage with one another. The holder and the support are configured such that when the cap is placed onto the base part, the two parts are automatically positioned with respect to one another in such a way that the optical axes of the lens and of the semiconductor chip coincide.
