  • Patent number: 6361310
Abstract: A method of operating a combustion plant having a number of burners includes controlling a composition of a fuel mixture of each burner with at least one setpoint that is determined with reference to dynamic characteristic quantities characterizing a combustion process, and determining the at least one setpoint in dependence on a contribution of each individual burner to a total proportion of a reaction product produced in the combustion process. The contribution of each burner to the total proportion of the reaction product is determined for each burner with reference to the dynamic characteristic quantities and static characteristic quantities characterizing a combustion plant. The method homogenizes the combustion process. The invention also includes an apparatus applying the method, including burners respectively controlled with the setpoint for a composition of a fuel mixture. A setpoint module determines the setpoint for each individual burner of the burners.

  • Patent number: 6362693
Abstract: In a frequency detection method for adjusting a clock signal frequency to the data rate of a received data signal, the clock signal which is predivided by a factor of 4. The predivided clock signal and the received data signal are each frequency-divided by the same division factor. The frequencies of the two frequency-divided signals are then determined by counting processes and are compared by a subtractor. The frequency difference that is determined is then converted into an analog output signal for controlling the clock signal frequency. This method can be applied in the transmission of data.

  • Patent number: 6363144
Abstract: A method provides that an initiating message is sent from a first service switching unit to a service control unit assigned to a supplementary service. In the service control unit there then takes place a comparison of a protocol supported by the first switching unit with a protocol necessary for the requested supplementary service. According to the result of the comparison, a second service switching unit, which can support the protocol necessary for the requested supplementary service, is determined, and a rerouting to the service switching unit is initiated.

  • Patent number: 6362667
Abstract: The output driver circuit of an integrated circuit has several pairs of driver circuits and driver control circuits as well as a control device. Each pair of driver control circuit and driver circuit forms a driver stage. The driver stages are connected in series. Based on the input signal of the output driver circuit, the control device switches the signal direction through the succession of driver stages in such a way that, at the time the output driver circuit is switched either on or off, the driver stages are switched in a time delayed manner, whereby current pulses on the feeding lines and disturbance voltages induced in inductive loads are reduced.

  • Patent number: 6363442
Abstract: The method and apparatus described are distinguished in that the data read out and the modified data are compared with one another before the data read out are overwritten with the modified data. Only those components of the data read out which differ from the modified data are overwritten. This is an extremely simple way of preventing changes to the stored data that were made between the time of reading out the data and overwriting the data from being unintentionally reversed.

  • Patent number: 6359457
Abstract: A wafer with integrated circuits is held with a holding device having a support surface for the wafer. The support surface is subdivided into at least two segments, each with a temperature influencing device. The temperature of each segment can be set independently to different temperatures. The integrated circuits are tested while thermal contact is made between the wafer and the support surface. Those integrated circuits which are in thermal contact with the first segment are tested while the segment is kept at an essentially constant temperature.
