    Abstract: An apparatus for storing and isolating components that are accommodated as bulk material has a supply reservoir for receiving the bulk material. An orientation canal is connected to the supply reservoir through which the parts are transported succesively and in a proper orientation. A reliable and non-damaging isolation of the parts is achieved by an exit region of the supply reservoir. The exit region includes an inlet funnel for the orientation canal. The inlet funnel has two funnel walls that are oriented parallel to one another and that lie in one plane with bordering walls of the orientation canal. The apparatus of the invention is particularly suited for the isolation and provision of electronic components.

    Abstract: A distinction is made between unicast frames and multicast/broadcast frames for the transmission of information packets between a source LEC of a first ELAN and a destination LEC of a second ELAN. After initiation of a connection setup, unicast information packets are transmitted between source LEC and destination LEC via a wide-area ATM network upon employment of the destination ATM address. Multicast/broadcast information packets are transmitted from the source LEC to the destination LECs via a CLS wide-area network offering a connectionless service. For the transmission of the multicast/broadcast information packets, a specific LEC in every ELAN of an exemplary embodiment is coupled to the CLS network via a bridge or a router. In one exemplary embodiment, the CLS network is employed for determining a destination ATM address of a destination LEC for the unicast transmission.

    Abstract: A method of forming an interlayer film on a substrate with a plurality of patterns formed thereon wherein the interlayer film is deposited on the substrate by a process comprising a plurality of steps in each of which a portion of the film is deposited so as to have different fluidity with the same source material.In the first aspect of the method, a portion of the interlayer film is at first deposited so as to have relatively reduced fluidity, so that the film is formed with an almost uniform thickness regardless of any pattern width on the substrate. After this, the rest portion of the film is deposited so that it has relatively increased fluidity so as to fill up the trough between the patterns.In the second aspect of the method, an undercoating film is formed in advance which is then treated to be hydrophobic so that a portion of the interlayer film deposited thereon reduces its fluidity, by which the portion is uniformly deposited regardless of any pattern width.

The material of which the strips are composed exhibits a flat B-H loop that proceeds optimally linearly into the range of saturation; further, the strips exhibit a magnetic anisotropy transverse to the longitudinal strip direction, whereby the anisotropy field strength is greater than the pre-magnetization field strength.

    Abstract: In the determination of an optimal rate for the delivery of stimulation pulses to a heart, the stroke volume (SV) of a heart ventricle is measured as a function of heart rate (HR), e.g. by determination of impedance in individual heart cycles whose duration is varied from the duration corresponding to the prevailing rate or the basic rate regarded as optimal for stimulation. The optimal rate should lie at the knee of this function. A corresponding knee is also found in the curve for cardiac output (CO). This rate is determined by calculation of an auxiliary function, e.g. HF=HR.times.CO, which displays a peak at the heart rate at which the knee is located, and the heart rate is determined which yields this maximum. The heart rate determined in this manner is subsequently employed as a basic rate.
