Abstract: A nozzle includes a body, a substantially rectangular foot, air slots and a flow restrictor. The body directs a stream of hot air into the substantially rectangular foot. The foot has a top and bottom surface that includes air slots. The foot also has an outlet across one end for the air flow. A flow restrictor is positioned in the foot, substantially along the outlet to create a back flow of pressure within the foot. The back flow of air causes an even distribution of air across the foot and out the air slots. Thus, increasing radiant heat across the surfaces of the foot.
Abstract: It is intended to reduce the rate of occurrence of prediction value judgment errors. Where a prediction value x'.sub.n-1 of a 1-clock preceding code is 0, a judgment circuit 1 outputs a value "1" as a prediction value x'.sub.n if a reproduction signal value y.sub.n sampled at time n is greater than or equal to a threshold value .eta. that is supplied from a threshold value generating circuit 6, and outputs a value "-1" as the prediction value x'.sub.n if y.sub.n <.eta.. Where x'.sub.n-1 is not 0, the judgment circuit 1 outputs a value "0" as the prediction value x'.sub.n. Therefore, the control circuit 1 outputs a value "0" every other clock as a prediction value. During the interval between the first two clocks, the threshold value .eta. is set at 0. Then, when supplied with codes of a given pattern that are arranged at the start, a switch 2 selects the prediction value x'.sub.n that is supplied from the judgment circuit 1. An operation circuit 16 calculates a phase error .DELTA..tau..sub.
Abstract: A method for imaging an area of investigation is based on a source half-tone picture of the area of investigation. The source half-tone picture is composed of individual picture elements to which are allocated the source gray scale values corresponding to the morphology of the area of investigation. A framing mask operation produces modified gray scale values from the source gray scale values as a function of a preassigned brightness value and a preassigned contrast value which are fed to a display device. The preassigned contrast value is controlled as a function of the preassigned brightness value or the preassigned brightness value as a function of the preassigned contrast value.

Abstract: The eject mechanism is composed of a two-arm lever actuatable with a ram, so that an actuation of the ram acting on the first lever arm creates a release of the plug in contact and an eject motion of the plug in assembly with the assistance of the second lever spatially allocated to the plug-side end of the plug in assembly. In order to achieve different transmission ratios, the first lever arm and the end of the ram facing toward it are fashioned and spatially allocated to one another so that the ram applies to a long lever arm in a first lever phase and applies to a short lever arm in a second lever phase.

Abstract: In a method for statistics mode reloading and for the statistical acquisition in the storage of a dataset in an electronic postage meter machine, the statistics mode of the electronic postage meter machine created for the acquisition of pre-compressed data according to statistics classes (postal classes) is interchangeably installed. A formation of freely selectable, new statistics instruction data for a future statistics mode ensues in the data center for the purpose of a transmission in the form of an instruction dataset. The installation of the statistics mode ensues during a communication of the postage meter machine with the data center. A microprocessor of the postage meter machine is programmed to change the statistics mode by modem or with another suitable communication means at least periodically or when the mail carrier is changed, or within the framework of a reloading of the postage meter machine.
