Abstract: The upgraded balancing machine for vehicle wheels comprise a supporting frame for gripping and rotation means for gripping and rotating a wheel to be balanced around a rotation axis, a first sensor for detecting the unbalance of the wheel with respect to the rotation axis suitable for generating a first analog signal, a second sensor for detecting at least one portion of the profile of the wheel suitable for generating a second analog signal, at least one analog to digital converter associated with at least one of the first and the second detection sensors and suitable for converting at least one of the first and the second analog signals into a corresponding digital signal, a processing and control unit associated with the conversion device and suitable for processing the digital signal, and an adjustment unit for adjusting the sampling frequency of at least one of the first and the second analog signals associated with the conversion device.

Abstract: A method for generating a trick replay video stream, including the steps of: selecting from stored data adapted for transmission as a streamed movie a sequence of Intracoded frames (I-frames), and inserting one or more difference frames between consecutive I-frames of the sequence to form the trick replay video stream. Each of the difference frames is constructed to have a zero difference with respect to a preceding I-frame in the sequence. The method further includes transmitting the trick replay video stream to a decoder for display of the streamed movie at an enhanced perceived rate.

Abstract: A method for displaying information includes identifying computer-readable service code at a service site, which code, when read by a client computer via a network, causes the computer to display at least one service page containing service information. Some service code is selected for inclusion in a service component containing at least some service information that corresponds to the selected code. A pointer is generated, indicating a location at which the service component is accessible to a remotely located client computer via the network, allowing the client computer to display a host page containing host information. An invocation of the pointer by the client computer is received at the location when the client computer accesses the host page. The selected service code is then conveyed to the client computer, such that responsive to the selected service code, the client computer displays the service component on the host page.

Abstract: An apparatus to pump fluid comprises an annular bore (12) and at least one pair of pistons (15, 16) which travel along the bore (12). The pistons (15, 16) can be releasably locked to a rotating plate like member (14) to travel through the bore (12). One piston (15) moves with the rotating plate (14) to be the travelling piston while the other piston (16) is locked in the bore (12) to become the stationary piston. As the travelling piston hits the rear of the stationary piston, a changeover occurs where the travelling piston becomes locked to the bore (12) to become the stationary piston and the stationary piston becomes released from the bore (12) and locked to the rotating plates (14) to become the travelling piston. This arrangement is continuously repeated to provide a pump/compressor/engine and the like.

Abstract: An antenna having multiple antenna elements of unequal lengths, form in a conical shape. The longest antenna element has a trap in a specific location of the antenna element. Multiple traps can be used for extended coverage depending upon the frequency band. The antenna elements are connected together through a transversal-wire ring and a feed transmission line is attached to it. The antenna occupies minimal footprint in the horizontal direction and maintains a low VSWR and a uniform beam pattern over a wide frequency band, more than 1:20. The antenna has a constant radiation pattern over a 1:6 bandwidth and the pattern bandwidth may be increased using more antenna elements and traps. The elevation and azimuth patterns show a consistent characteristic from 100 MHz to 600 MHz.
