The bag is removably secured to a bent tube attached to a handle having a leash latch pivoted thereon. The rim of the holder is narrow so that it can be used for picking up droppings. The bag holder is a round sleeve with a flat segment holding elastic fitting around the top of the bag and holding it against the sleeve.
Abstract: A pulpit, altar or other platform may be retracted into an opening in the floor of a building such as a church. In one form of the invention, the pulpit assembly is connected to means for moving it vertically into and out of the opening. In another form, the pulpit is foldable and can be stored in the opening after folding the retable of the pulpit assembly and contains two flanking side tables swingably hinged thereto.
Abstract: A portable, floating dock which can be towed by a boat using same is provided. The dock has a flat shell with a tapered front section and a gang plank covered with a non-skid material. An eyebolt is provided in the back of the float for securing a boat to it and to stakes driven on the shore. Anchoring tie rings are also provided in the front of the dock for securing same to other stakes driven on the shore.
Abstract: A tire patching apparatus which is easy to use and can be employed by an untrained person, which includes a gun-shaped device including a container for adhesive in its handle; one wall of the container being a vertically pivoted piston actuated by the trigger to squeeze adhesive out from the barrel and a tubular rubber patch insertable in a hole in a tire and adapted to be temporarily secured by a clip and a chain to the gun while adhesive is spread around it while in the hole. The patch is pulled by the clip until the seat of the patch has reached the inside surface of the tire and then its projecting part is severed even with the tire tread.
Abstract: A self-contained, or externally actuated, hydraulic log splitter which includes a frame on which is slidably mounted an assembly of a push plate secured at one end to a reversible hydraulic cylinder and at the other to a splitting table carrying logs which is pushed against a straight blade to split the logs. A square steel bar is fixed centrally on the push plate along its entire height to provide in-line thrust at all times even when the ends of the logs are uneven. A gas engine or the hyraulic system of a tractor are connected to a pump mounted on one side of the frame to provide power to the cylinder. Elevated guide rails are fixed to the sides of the table to retain the logs. A hydraulic control valve allows movement only as long as it is operated.
Abstract: A windmill in which a propeller is directly fixed to the shaft of a rotary hydraulic pump mounted on a cylinder casing rotatably mounted about a vertical axis to the top of a tower. A piston in the cylinder is recicprocated by the hydraulic fluid expelled by the pump to power a reciprocal pump at the base of the tower to which the piston is attached by a lift rod. The piston is fitted with a valve which permits the piston and attached lift rod to freely move on the downstroke through the fluid in the cylinder, with the valve closed during the upstroke of the piston to permit the pressurized fluid below the piston to raise the piston and lift rod.
Abstract: A cart mounted on two inverted "T" shape runners with wheels collapsibly mounted between the runners and actuated by levers on each side of the cart. The cart has foldable front and rear sides. The wheels are mounted on spaced plates and have means for locking them in raised and lowered positions.
Abstract: A stretcher for handling and carrying patients is constructed with a set of two frames, which consists of a carrying frame and an auxiliary frame, with the frames capable of being drawn in and out of each other sideways relatively to each other.
Abstract: An attachment for protecting the hood and controls of snowmobiles from damage caused by the turning over of the vehicle which comprises a rigid, welded, cage structure extending above the steering handlebar but below the windshield. The structure is removably secured by its lower end to horizontal mounting brackets fixed on each side of the vehicle.
Abstract: A swimming pool mounted externally of a floating ship or barge. A rectangular horizontal frame supports a walkway about an open rectangular area. A first outer net extending from below the outer borders of the walkway is mounted to telescopic vertical supports that are driven by gear motors to raise or lower the first net, and a second inner net extending from below the inner borders of the walkway is fixed about rollers suspended from the frame, with gear motors linked to the rollers to elevate or lower the second net by winding or unwinding the second net upon the rollers.
Abstract: A mechanical linkage in a focal plane shutter type of camera which prevents insertion of a flash attachment to the mating shoe of the camera and insertion of a flash cord in the X synchronization socket of the camera unless the camera shutter speed control knob is set for a shutter speed within the proper range for use with the flash attachment. Conversely, the linkage prevents rotation of the shutter speed control knob beyond the proper range for use with flash apparatus when a flash attachment is mounted to the shoe of the camera or a flash cord has been inserted in the X synchronization socket of the camera.
