  • Patent number: 4082079
Abstract: A portable oven and grill heated by solar energy, which is fabricated of lightweight materials. The oven box is formed of a shaped open diagonal box, the walls of which are heat insulators, finished on their inner surfaces with a black matte surface to absorb radiated heat. Vanes formed of insulated panels coated on their upper sides with aluminum foil to reflect radiation are mounted along the top of each edge of the oven box and oriented at an obtuse angle to the vertical inner walls of the oven box. A glass panel is mounted across the open face of the oven box, which is inclined at an angle to horizontal bottom base wall of the oven, to retain the heat inside the oven compartment. A slidable metal grill plate is mounted to the inner bottom base wall so as to slide part ways out of the rear side of the oven wall while remaining in contact with an aluminum plate loosely mounted to the inner base bottom wall so as to be heated, for grilling purposes, when so extended out of the side wall.

  • Patent number: 4082186
Abstract: A kit of portable cleaning tools storable in a bag. The kit includes a collapsable pail, a broom and wiper blade each separately attachable to the opposite ends of a pole, and a pole formed with male threads on one end section and one end section as a tapered cone on the opposed end section. The pole is formed of four segments joined by hinges and detachable latches. The axis of the hinge of the pole joining the two pole mid-sections is perpendicular to the axis of the two hinges each joining an outer pole section to a mid-section so that the pole folds to a compact structure.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONMy invention is a kit of portable cleaning tools storable in a bag. The kit includes a collapsable pail, a broom and wiper blade each separately attachable to the opposite ends of a pole, and a pole formed with male threads on one end section and one end section as a tapered cone on the opposed end section. The pole is formed of four segments joined by hinges and detachable latches.

  • Patent number: 4080801
Abstract: An engine for driving the compressor of an air conditioner system which is powered by the heat of the exhaust manifold of a vehicle internal combustion engine. The engine of the invention includes a closed cylinder with a piston dividing the cylinder into two compartments, and with the piston rod extending beyond one end of the cylinder to power both the air conditioner compressor pump and a liquid pump that supplies the engine with pressurized liquid. The inlet port of the engine is located on a cylinder wall midway between the cylinder ends, with bores in the piston linking the inlet port with each cylinder compartment at the position of the cylinder that reduces the particular compartment to its minimum volume. Each end of the cylinder is surrounded by a heated exhaust jacket so that the liquid fed into the cylinder compartment is vaporized to expand the cylinder compartment and drive the piston.

  • Patent number: 4079889
Abstract: A rail track that reduces noise and vibration for particular use in rapid transit and subway lines. The track is formed of a conventional rail embedded in a pre-stressed concrete bed. Sections of such jacketed rails are joined together by means of flanges, one of which is welded to one side of each rail end, with the bolt holes in the flanges and the joined rails oriented at an angle to axes of the rails so as to transfer a tension load between each rail of a joint. The pre-stress tension wires of the concrete bed extend beyond the ends of each section and are individually joined by turnbuckles or other tension creating couplers. The bottom of each concrete bed section is mounted on a solid sheet of rubber or other elastomer.

  • Patent number: 4073522
Abstract: A hinged unit that serves as a security door step to prevent opening of a slidable door. The unit consists of a pair of bars pivotably linked together at adjoining ends and of a length to fit in the extended position, between an external bottom side edge of a slidable door and the bottom side edge of the door frame within the bottom channel in which the door slides to block movement of the door in the closed door position. The hinge line is located below the horizontal longitudinal axis of the joined bars in the extended position. A pivoted kicker plate is pivoted to one bar so that downward pressure on the kicker plate serves to raise the hinge point above the horizontal axis so that the bars will fold upward about the hinge point to permit the bars to fold against the door frame along a vertical axis as the door is opened.
