Abstract: A frame consisting of four panels with perforations in the lower portions of each of the panels can be hingedly connected together with long posts which can be driven into the ground after passing through the panel hinges to secure the frame to the ground, a pair of grill sections connected by loops can then be placed over the panels for barbecuing, by removal of one of the posts the frame may be disassembled and then the grill sections can be folded around the panels whereupon a handle can be secured to the tops of the grill sections to carry the disassembled portable barbecue device.

Abstract: A seal for the closure of packages includes a tear string or tab dimensioned or located and secured thereon so as to selectively open desired sections of the seal.

Abstract: A device adapted to be attached to a vehicle for plowing snow on gravel covered roads while minimizing loss of gravel caused by plowing which employs a horizontally elongated blade having a concave plowing front surface and a convex rear surface.A horizontal foot is disposed below the blade and is adapted slidably to rest on the top of a gravel road covering. A mechanism secures said foot to said blade in such manner that the bottom edge of the blade is disposed above the foot. The mechanism is manually adjustable to adjust the vertical separation between the bottom edge of the blade and the bottom surface of the foot to a distance at which the gravel will not be removed and the snow can be suitably plowed when the device is used on a vehicle.

Abstract: A box fitted with a hinged cover for winding a skein of yarn about a rod rotatably mounted in the box, with a handle externally fixed to the rod. A pair of spaced through slots are formed in the cover located parallel to each other and the rod, with a guide unit slidably mounted to a first slot and located to extend under the second slot inside the cover. The guide unit is formed of a loop of wire fixed to a knob that extends through the first slot so that a length of yarn can be fastened at one end to the rod through the second slot and the loop of the guide, with said thread being windable upon the rod when the handle is manually rotated and with the guide manually operated to guide the thread onto the rod along the length of the rod.

Abstract: A flower stand employs a vertical post which can be supported at its lower end by a horizontal cruciform shaped base having downwardly curved tips at the free ends thereof. The upper end of the post is threaded. A vertical hollow container open at its top end has a downwardly and inwardly tapered bottom section with a vertical threaded bore engaged by the upper end of the post. A flat perforated disc is disposed in between the top open section of the container and the bottom section and is held in place by a vertical spacer extending upward from the top of the bore to the bottom of the disc at the center thereof. A hollow flexible tube used for filling can be attached to a nipple extending from the interior of the bottom section which serves as a water reservoir. A wick extends from the bottom section through the perforated disc into the top open container section.

Abstract: A driving center assembly is provided wherein a work engaging center pin has a bore containing a ball compressed against the flat face of a hemispherical member housed in a socket in the drive shank. The center pin passes through a drive plate which is made rigid with a drive plate through push pins which are urged against the hemispherical member thereby allowing the drive plate and pin to tilt for out of square surfaces by insuring that the push pins exert equal pressure in forcing the drive pins into the work piece.

Abstract: A helmet or the like which has a rigid central shell and inner and outer inflatable impact absorbing liners with one-way valve means for inflating same. A plurality of inserts of foam or spongy material is secured to the inner shell and adapted to contact the head of the wearer. The liners may be removably secured to the shell.

Abstract: A kit containing an inflatable balloon, a length of tethering cord attached to a balloon harness and a container of gas for inflating the balloon. The harness is formed of four shaped flat cards, each joined by a flat elastic band to a cross-piece bracket, with a cord extending from each card to the tethering cord. When the balloon is inflated, with the cross-piece bracket externally mounted about the top of the balloon, each elastic band extends to a card mounted about a lower quadrant of the balloon, with each card held in a plane substantially perpendicular to the two adjacent cards. The balloon and cards are externally covered with a coating that reflects both light and radar waves. The elasticity of the bands enables the balloon to uniformly expand as it rises, and the cards serve to extend the plane of visual and radar reflection.

Abstract: A portable barbecue unit the housing of which is a case fitted with a hinged cover inside of which are a pair of containers which serve as charcoal burner units, each fitted with one side formed as a grate. The burner units may be mounted, with the cover opened, so that the grates of the two burner units face each other in spaced vertical array. A hinged grill may be fixed to a handle that is rotatably mounted in attachable brackets to the housing between the erected burner units. Alternately the burner units may be mounted side by side in the container with the grates forming a continuous surface on which the grill may be rested. Each burner unit is shaped as a box with one side hinged to the burner unit for replacement of charcoal.

Abstract: An apparatus is constructed utilizing electromechanical devices only, for use as a game apparatus, whose rules of operation imitate those of golf, and whose action is responsive to skill of the operator. The apparatus is formed of a display unit on which a simulated golf ball travels a distance over a display of a golf course in response to the striking by a user with a golf club of a captive golf ball mounted on a driving range unit of the device. The simulated golf ball is mounted to a belt that is driven by a first motorized unit at a fixed speed of travel and for a period of time controlled by a momentum device connected by a flexible cable to a pivoted lever fixed to the captive golf ball.

Abstract: A telephone holder which comprises a cradle enclosing a telephone hand set and an arcuate, head-engaging plastic or metal band connected to the cradle by a universal joint.

Abstract: Fishing rod attachment, through which fishing line is passed, responsive to the tension in line developed by the pull of a fish caught on the line, which attachment includes an indicating light that is turned on when the line is under tension. The reverse motion of reeling the line back is not impeded by the attachment.

Abstract: A sponge forms an inner shaftway with interiorly projecting ribs to engage the sides of a lug nut, a shaft with a bottom plate attached to the bottom of the shaft is attached by adhesive material to the sponge body and a handle attached perpendicularly to the distal end of the shaft are used to rotate the sponge on the lug nut; the shaft can be made of round cross section with a hexagonal central shaftway or can be made of hexagonal cross section for strength of the shaft.

Abstract: An adjustable picture frame assembly kit consisting of four frame legs, a front transparent panel, a rear panel, an easel and a tube of plastic glue. Each of the frame legs is in the form of a rectangular corner section, with two of the frame legs shaped to telescopically slide over the other two legs when oriented as the two diagonally opposed corners of a picture frame. The rear panel is scored with tear lines so as to simplify cutting to size, in use.

Abstract: A display frame for mounting a pattern of cloth behind a transparent overlay sheet marked with the outline of a model wearing a dress, so that the display cloth may be viewed as a finished modeled dress. The rack is formed of a pair of spaced vertical members spaced apart by upper and lower horizontal struts, each mounted on a pedestal, with a horizontal hanger of circular cross-section joined to both vertical members and located a spaced distance below the upper horizontal strut. Each of the vertical members is formed with a through open axial slot extending in the transverse plane of the frame, for retention of a flat display board between the two vertical members, and theaded fasteners are mounted in each vertical member for clamping of the board in the slot. A length of cloth may be fastened to each face of the display board, with the transparent overlay sheet hung over the hangar rod to cover both faces of the display board.

Abstract: An anti-pollution system for industrial smoke stacks has a source of live steam feeding steam to a nozzle centered in the upper part of the stacks and several concentrically steam cooling towers of progressively smaller diameter. Each chamber opens into the other and has a drain for conveying water laden with unburned particles and soot to filters at the bottom of the stacks.

Abstract: A waterbed mattress, the interior of which is fitted with an air inflatable section in the form of cylindrical cup sections joined to the interior of the top and bottom liners of the mattress. The interior of the cup sections are open to the bottom with the cups joined together, to form a common air chamber, bounded by the bottom liner, with valves provided for independent filling of the water chamber and the air chamber.

Abstract: A leveling unit for parked vehicles -- such as house trailers or mobile homes or recreational vehicles -- which includes a horizontal stand having a manual vertically adjustable wheel support ramp with a wheel engaging surface and ground engaging means under the stand. A level or plumb line on the vehicle indicates which of its side needs leveling and the unit is placed under the tire on the low side by driving the wheel of the vehicle up the ramp.

Abstract: An ash tray of circular shape formed with a circular projecting flange bounding an annular recess, in which sand may be placed, with a central cup section in which a bracket is fitted. The bracket is shaped with radial spokes, each terminating in an open ring of a size to fit a cigarette tip, with the spokes joined to a central open ring of a size to fit about a cigar tip. The spokes serve to hold a pipe of a varying size in place, depending on the placement of the pipe. The bracket is mounted to the inner sides of the cup so as to be raised above the bottom wall of the cup, to permit placement of sand in the cup bottom.

Abstract: An assembly for locking a hook to a board to prevent the hook from disengaging from the board wherein the hook has an offset board engaging portion, a shank portion having a straight board engaging portion extending at right angle thereto with a notch near the shank. The hook is held in frictional contact with the board by a locking clip having an opening traversed by the offset board engaging portion of the hook and a curved indentation engaged in the notch of the straight board engaging portion of the hook.
