  • Patent number: 6926726
Abstract: A method for removing thrombus or other material from a natural or synthetic body vessel or cavity without the need for direct surgical access. The method includes providing a device supplying high pressure fluid to at least one distal orifice, causing high pressure fluid to emanate from the orifice creating at least one fluid jet, and using the fluid jet to break up material in the vessel. The method further includes directing at least one fluid jet at the opening of an exhaust lumen or target incorporated into the device and using the jet to provide a localized negative pressure which entrains material into the jet for break-up. The method optionally includes using the jet to provide stagnation pressure which drives material along the exhaust lumen. The method optionally includes metering the exhaust to match the fluid input or to be greater or less than the input. A positive displacement pump operating at steady or pulsatile flow provides the high pressure saline to the distal end of the catheter.

  • Patent number: 6866600
Abstract: A wide angle arrowhead which is light weight, and which has minimal structure and surface area to decreased arrowhead weight, surface area and drag to increase performance of an arrow to which it is attached. A blade cutting edge of the wide angle arrowhead maintains an interior angle relationship to the centerline of an arrow shaft where such relationship can be fashioned to have one interior angular relationship within a specified angular range. Also, drag is minimized by the utilization of a thin ground blade cutting edge, an additional benefit of which is the decreasing of the cutting edge bluntness, thereby enhancing easy target penetration.

  • Patent number: 6846253
Abstract: A soccer training system which has three modes and includes a frame, a net, a target panel, and a rebound panel. The frame with the net secured thereto provides a soccer goal mode; the frame with the target panel positioned across its front provides a soccer target mode; and the frame with the rebound panel positioned across its front provides a soccer rebounder mode. The target panel has cutouts and/or apertures to pass a soccer ball. The rebound panel redirects a kicked ball back toward the kicker. The rebound panel can also be inclined to alter the return angle of the ball. Preferably, elastic corded hooks attach the target panel or the rebound panel to the front of the frame.

  • Patent number: 6805684
Abstract: Cross stream thrombectomy catheter and system for fragmentation and removal of thrombus or other material from blood vessels or other body cavities. High velocity saline jets emitted from a toroidal loop jet emanator or other jet emanator in a catheter distal end entrain fluid through inflow orifices, and with flow resistances create a back-pressure which drives cross stream streams through outflow orifices in a radial direction and thence radially and circumferentially to apply normal and drag forces on thrombotic deposits or lesions in the blood vessel or other body cavity, thereby breaking apart and transporting thrombus particles to be entrained through the inflow orifices, whereupon the high velocity jets macerate the thrombus particles which then transit an exhaust lumen or recirculate again via the outflow orifices.

  • Patent number: RE38760
Abstract: Oxides are etched with a halide-containing species and a low molecular weight organic molecule having a high vapor pressure at standard conditions, where etching is performed at preset wafer temperature in an enclosed chamber at a pressure such that all species present in the chamber, including water, are in the gas phase and condensation of species present on the etched surface is controlled. Thus all species involved remain in the gas phase even if trace water vapor appears in the process chamber. Preferably, etching is performed in a cluster dry tool apparatus.
