Abstract: A ring for supporting a coffee filter within a filter basket of a brewing device. The inventive device includes a support ring positionable within a filter basket so as to capture an upper edge of a coffee filter between the ring and the basket. A plurality of vertical stanchions depend from the support ring for engaging a bottom of the basket to support the ring at a desired position therein. An adjustment assembly is provided for varying a diameter of the ring and each stanchion includes frangible notches permitting sizing of the stanchions to a desired height.
Abstract: An apparatus for exercising the limbs of an individual. The inventive device includes a frame assembly having a seat assembly adjustably positioned relative thereto. A plurality of resilient exercise assemblies are coupled to the frame assembly and can be tensioned by a user to exercise the arms and legs thereof. The exercise assemblies each include a pair of elongated springs or elastomeric elements coupled to the frame and terminating in a pair of grips engageable by either the hands or feet of the user.
Abstract: A pain comforter system for providing pain relieving medication to a patient at a rate which is variable as a function of changes in conditions, this system comprising a line for feeding medication from a source to the patient; a pump to feed the medication; means to sense the conditions of the patient and the medication; and a controller coupled to the sensors adapted to energize and de-energize the pump as a result of the sensed conditions.
Abstract: A personal protective device comprising a combination flashlight, alarm and incapacitating spray mounted in a two section housing. A safety switch built into the unit prevents activation of the spray unless the flashlight is turned on. The unit has a strap to fasten to the user's wrist, such strap being designed to break away should an assailant grab the unit.
Abstract: An in-line roller skate having at least one gyroscopic stabilizer mechanically coupled to at least one wheel of the skate for providing stabilization and improved coasting of the skate. The at least one stabilizer is positioned beneath the boot of the skate proximate the user's longitudinal center of gravity and is coupled to one or more of the wheels by a drive belt. An alternate embodiment of the present invention includes a generator driven by one or more of the skate wheels for supplying electrical power to a plurality of lights on the skate.
Abstract: A folding table disposed within a tote bag which may be extended therefrom to rest on a surface or, alternatively, suspend from an automobile seat and the like. The table may be positioned at various angles relative to the supporting surface so as to maintain a level position and it includes both a drink holder and a book holder for securing a position of such articles upon the table. The apparatus further includes a pair of carrying straps configurable into either a backpack harness or a handbag strap and is also provided with a table cloth which may be unrolled therefrom for subsequent use.
