Abstract: A method of preventing the headache phase of migraine in a human comprises administration of a 5HT1 receptor agonist or administration of an over-the-counter or nonprescription drug to said human exhibiting prodrome symptoms of migraine. Suitably, the method comprises administration of a migraine headache phase-preventing effective amount of the 5HT1 agonist or over-the-counter or nonprescription drug. There is disclosed a preemptive prophylaxis migraine method using the following cognitive tests: Simple Reaction Time; Running Memory Continuous Performance Task; Matching to Sample; Mathematical Processing Task; and interpreting the results as a percent of baseline indicator of need for prophylaxis.

Abstract: A two-piece motion-transmitting cable assembly includes first and second cables, each having a core wire surrounded by a conduit; a male housing connected to the first cable and having a ridged length adjustment section; a spring retainer slideably interconnected with the exterior of the male housing and having a female retaining clip at a first end; a female housing connected to the second cable and having a male retaining clip engaging with the female retaining clip when the male and female housings are mated; an adjustment clip engaging with the ridged length adjustment section to lock the male housing in a position relative to the female housing; and a spring contained between the exterior of the male housing and the interior of the spring retainer and interacting with the spring retainer, in conjunction with the retainer clip, to bias the first cable in a direction toward the second cable.

Abstract: A device for separating disc-shaped bodies from an original body includes a separating device, a feeding device, an optical recognition device for determining the front face contour of the original body and lamps for illuminating the surroundings of the cutting surface. The recognition device detects the front face using the contrast between the surroundings of the front face and the original body in relation to the determined front face. The lamps are mounted in a tunnel and arranged in a planar manner along the longitudinal direction of the original body. The method includes the steps of guiding the source body in a tunnel, mounting a plurality of lamps in a planar fashion along the longitudinal direction of the source body in the tunnel, and illuminating the source body and the environment of the face of the source body with the plurality of lamps.

Abstract: A protected dual purpose power/enter switch for an integrated receiver/decoder has a first relay and a second relay adapted for operative communication with a motherboard and with each other. A switch and a processor are in operative communication with the first relay. When the device is off, said switch is configured to activate the first and second relay to power up the device, and when said device is on, the first relay connects the switch to the processor as an enter switch. The switch may power off said device by entering a power off menu item displayed by said processor.

Abstract: A process of extracting halogenated organic compounds, and particularly PCBs, from soil, sediment, slurry, sludge and dehalogenating the compounds contacts a contaminated soil sample with an extraction medium of a mixture of an alkane and a water miscible alcohol. The organic compounds dissolve in the extraction medium which is separated from the soil by passing water upwardly through the soil. The extraction medium floats to the surface of the water and is separated. Thereafter, the extraction medium containing the halogenated organic contaminants is subjected to ionizing radiation to radiolytically dehalogenate the compounds.

Abstract: A control system for a powered wheel chair drive modulates a pulse power delivery signal such that power is delivered gradually at throttle positions corresponding to a low speed, and power is delivered more rapidly at throttle positions corresponding to a higher speed.

Abstract: An ergonomic support system for a seat has a resilient seat suspension platform with a pair of side margins and a plurality of transverse wires. Ergonomic supports are mounted on the seat adjacent to and/or within the side margins. A bracket has a slot extends along the bracket. One end of a support arm is attached to the ergonomic support and the other end connects the ergonomic support to the bracket through a slide clip. The slide clip is seated in the slot and provides a sliding engagement between the support arm and the bracket. A mounting clip engages the support arm at a region intermediate between the ends of the support arm. A spring can be operatively connected between the bracket end and the ergonomic support, and a hinge arm may also connect the ergonomic support to the bracket through the mounting clip.

Abstract: A system and method for downloading software updates for receivers of broadcast content data distribution has multiple memories for storing the updated version of code as well as a backup copy of the prior version of code. Code is replaced with an updated version when the updated version passes a series of checks. Thereafter the updated version is designated the current version. Thereafter the backup version is changed. The method updates operational code without interrupting the execution of regular receiver functionality, such as the playing of audio and/or video. The system provides for updating operational code in option cards.

Abstract: A block attacher for attaching blocks to slats as stringers for pallets includes a slat dispenser disposed to dispense individual slats to a slat driver, the slat driver being selectively positionable. A first block dispenser dispenses a block to an assembly station where a position fixture is disposed to operatively cooperate with the slat driver and the block dispenser to position the dispensed block abutting the individual slat when the slat driver is in a first selected position. At least one other position fixture is disposed to operatively cooperate with the slat driver to position a second dispensed block abutting the individual slat when the slat driver is in a second selected position. The subsequent blocks may be dispensed by the same block dispenser as the first block, or by different dispensers.

Abstract: A simplified, low-cost actuator used in conjunction with a lumbar support device designed to significantly decrease manufacturing costs and assembly time. The present invention produces similar movement as the more expensive actuators but does so with a considerably smaller number of parts. The actuator consists merely of four pieces—a handle, a spring, a plunger, and a mounting bracket. The symmetry of design of this actuator allows it to be installed more easily in any orientation and on either side of the seat. Furthermore, the actuator may be adapted for use with a tension cable or a drive rod. The simplicity, low-cost, and ease of use associated with this actuator makes it an attractive alternative to other actuators disclosed in the prior art. Finally, this actuator allows adjustable lumbar support to be offered in a cost effective manner in lower tier seating.

The position of the crop edge detected by the position-finding device is used for adjustment of the orientation of the region of coverage of the position-finding device relative to the machine. The position-finding system provides reliable control of the machine along the path of the crop edge. At least one adjusting device orientates the positioning-finding device relative to the machine for tracking the machine along the detected crop edge. In addition, the signals of a further position-finding device in a feed region of a cutterbar is taken into consideration.

Abstract: An agricultural machine having at least one crop processing work unit, a plurality of crop transport units operatively assembled as a straw walker step, wherein the crop transport units convey crop streams in opposite directions and are spaced apart defining a crop through-gap, and a cleaning device having a forced-draught fan before the cleaning device, further comprising an exhaust fan located after the cleaning device, wherein the transport units are located between the forced-draught fan and the exhaust fan, wherein an air stream is produced by the forced-draught fan and the exhaust fan and is directed from the forced-draught fan to the exhaust fan, and wherein the air stream improves a cleaning process in the straw walker through-gap of the straw walker step.

Abstract: An air mattress includes a first inflatable compartment having a length and width, when inflated, sufficient to support a human body. The first compartment is composed of at least two layers of vinyl, one layer of vinyl forming the top of the compartment and the second forming the bottom. A second inflatable compartment extends generally the length and width of the first compartment and is attached to the first compartment through a perimeter seal that is recessed from the periphery of the air mattress. The second compartment is tufted and so contain a layer of resilient material.
