  • Patent number: 7007873
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for disintegrating compressed bales of coarse, fiberlike, natural or synthetic materials, especially straw bales, and transporting the disintegrated materials to further processing. Bales often contain foreign objects which the invention removes from disintegrated bale material by moving the material disintegrated from the compressed bales to a feeding and collecting auger and sucking off the portions of natural or synthetic fiber intended for further processing from the feeding and collecting auger, while the contaminants collected are moved on by the feeding and collecting auger and discharged.

  • Patent number: 7008201
Abstract: A screw rotor device has a housing with an inlet port and an outlet port, a male rotor with helical threads, and a female rotor with helical grooves. The helical threads and helical grooves are designed to eliminate the blow hole leak pathway for multiple-pitch screw rotor devices as well as single-pitch screw rotor devices. The male rotor has a pair of helical threads with a phase-offset aspect, and the female rotor has a corresponding pair of helical grooves. The female rotor counter-rotates with respect to the male rotor and each of the helical grooves respectively intermeshes in phase with each of the helical threads. The phase-offset aspect of the helical threads is formed by a pair of teeth bounding a toothless sector.

  • Patent number: 6989045
Abstract: An apparatus and method for filtering particulate from an internal combustion engine by use of monolithic particulate trap systems having porous walls (2c, 24c). The porous walls (2c, 24c) filter the particulate. The filtered particulate on inner surfaces of the porous walls is periodically removed or regenerated via back flow of previously filtered exhaust gas. The back flow is caused by creating a pressure difference across the porous walls. The back flow of the previously filtered exhaust gas is simultaneously or sequentially coupled with high velocity through flow of exhaust gas in the channels. In addition, the particulate trap system can be an adsorber-catalyst particulate trap system for filtering particulate and reducing NOx via an adsorber-catalyst trap systems to achieve the EPA 2007 standards.
