  • Patent number: 6975911
Abstract: An operator interface for a control system for a bulk material baler includes interface means such as a touch screen or keyboard for an operator to enter process parameters into a control system memory. A display shows process parameter fields into which an operator may enter desired control parameters. The display also displays data feedback from baler process sensors. The baler control system then controls baling parameters as the operator directs including: strap feed position, strap feed speed, strap feed torque, strap release tension, tying cylinder position, tying cylinder speed and tying cylinder torque. The operator may also control carriage movement, alarm limits, shut off limits and monitor on the display baler processing data both currently and historically. Other aspects of automated baling may be optionally monitored or controlled through the operator interface of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 6971307
Abstract: A guide track for a strap with which to bind a bale of bulk material. The guide track includes a convex portion and a restraining portion. Two lateral guide track halves are biased together. On their internal faces the guide track section halves have channels. The baling strap or baling wire is driven through the channels and guided around the material to be baled. The channels widen from a small diameter to a wide aperture at the receiving end of the guide track sections for receiving a lead end of a wire or strap that is propelled across a gap from a preceding guide track section. A partition is positioned within the wide aperture to provide multiple receptacles for the lead end of a wire or strap.

  • Patent number: 6971719
Abstract: A clutch actuator has a housing with a load bearing element disposed within it. A force application element disposed within the housing applies force to the load bearing element. A stop assembly includes a retaining stopper between the load bearing element and the force application element. The stopper is dimensioned relative to a retainer and to the load bearing element to stop movement of said load bearing element relative to said retainer in the absence of a force application, and the stopper is dimensioned relative to said retainer and to said load bearing element to allow movement of said load bearing element relative to said retainer when force is applied against the load or when is force is released toward the load. One surface of the retainer, the stopper or the load bearing element is textured.

  • Patent number: 6969115
Abstract: An adjustable lumbar support assembly for a seat has a curved lumbar support member that is made from a plastic material and an adjustment mechanism operatively connected to the curved lumbar support member for adjusting between various degrees of curvature. The curved lumbar support member may include a plurality of reinforcing ribs that allow a greater degree of curvature adjacent one end of the element than the degree of curvature adjacent the other end of the element. The reinforcing ribs allow for varying degrees of curvature because the cross section of the ribs varies. Further, the reinforcing ribs are integral with the curved lumbar support member. The adjustable lumbar assembly could also include at least one resilient metal strap connected to the curved lumbar support member that allows a greater degree of curvature adjacent one end of the curved lumbar support member than the degree of curvature adjacent the other end of the element.

  • Patent number: 6957596
Abstract: A braking actuator for an ergonomic support is connected thereto by a Bowden cable. The actuator has a housing with pin slots, friction surfaces and a mount for a disk axle. A disk has frictional surfaces, holes with pin load edges, a Bowden cable wire seat that holds the Bowden cable end and an axle that is supported by the mount in the housing. The friction surfaces of the disk and housing engage each other to brake the actuator and the ergonomic support. A lever having pins is disposed on the housing such that the pins extend through the pin slots to engage the holes in the disk. Turning the lever disengages the friction surfaces and rotates the disk, thereby moving the ergonomic support. Releasing the lever engages the frictional surfaces such that movement of the ergonomic support is braked at a selected position.

  • Patent number: 6951270
Abstract: An actuator for a traction device comprising has a locking clutch adapted for operative communication with a traction device. It has a drive disc having drive tabs. The drive tabs project axially into driving engagement with the locking clutch. The drive disc has a seat with an inner face. A drive shaft with a cam having an outer face is disposed within the seat of the drive disc such that said outer face of the cam and the inner face of the seat define a first constricting channel and a second constricting channel. The cam further has a projection. Locking rollers are disposed within the constricting channels. A fixed stop is disposed between the cam outer face and the inner face of said seat and between the first locking roller and the second locking roller.
