  • Patent number: 4951867
Abstract: A cardboard retaining structure defined by a peripheral strip joined at the ends to form a continuous loop and creased to form fold lines thereacross. The fold lines are spaced to define substantially equal front and rear panels in the strip separated by substantially equal lateral panels. The loop therefore may be collapsed into a folded planar structure one or more separator panels extend between the front and rear panels and the front panel is provided with a notched flap to engage the edge of the separator panel in an orthogonal alignment therewith.

  • Patent number: 4951317
Abstract: This invention relates to an article of clothing which can be worn by athletes to protect their arm muscles, or lower leg muscles, from the damaging affects of cold air or cold wind. This pull on and off sleeve, helps to prevent muscles from tightening or cramping, by eliminating exposure to cold air and wind. This invention does not press upon arm or leg muscles, or restrict elbow motion in any way. The athletic sleeve, which can be removed in less than one second, is so small that it can be carried in any pocket.

  • Patent number: 4932829
Abstract: A motorcycle carrier conformed for pivotal engagement to the bed of a truck includes a pivotal channel in which a motorcycle carrying track is translated on rollers. A strap passing over pulleys then allows pivotal motion of the member from the truck bed and concurrent translation of the track, raising the member to a vertical position, and deploying the track onto the ground for loading or unloading. Once the loading function is effected the member and the track advanced thereon may be returned onto the truck bed for transport.

  • Patent number: 4870719
Abstract: An oyster shell separator deploys a conical, helically ridged, powered point driven in rotation by an electrical motor within a wedge shaped housing. The conical point draws the shells onto a flanged collar selected in dimension to fully separate the shells. From the collar the shell halves are passed along the sides of the housing for collection and sorting.

  • Patent number: 4869454
Abstract: A resilient grommet assembly useful in isolating the transfer of acoustical energy across structural connections includes a first annular portion provided with a central tubular projection in concentric deployment within a first peripheral edge and a second, mating annular portion provided with a second peripheral edge, the first edge extending to a depth greater than the second edge. The tubular projection is then inserted into a circular hole in a hanger strap and thereafter into a central opening in the second portion. A fastener then compresses the portions against the hanger and since the depth of the first edge is greater than the second edge the first edge is collapsed to a greater extent to further drive the tubular projection into the second portion.

  • Patent number: 4809578
Abstract: An electromagnetic pickup for use in sensing the mechanical motion of strings includes a ferromagnetic housing of elongate, longitudinally recessed form in which a ferromagnetic core is received. The core includes a plurality of coplanar, spaced, finger-like projections directed at the walls of the recess. Both the walls of the recess and the finger-like projections of the core are permanently magnetized to a common magnetic polarity and thus will concentrate by magnetic repulsion the flux into the gap between the projections. A coil wound around the core then senses the flux changes of these concentrated flux fields due to string motion.

  • Patent number: 4810219
Abstract: An inflatable flotation assembly includes a compressed gas cylinder stored inside a split housing the parts of which are held together by a releasable pivot on one end and an interlocked pivoted arm at the other end which engages a flexible tab aligned against the gas cylinder. The arm overlies the housing to engage the releasable pivot and when unclasped from this engagement will rotate to pierce the cylinder by deflecting the tab. Thereafter the expansion of a flotation bladder separates the housing while the arm remains interlocked to the tab to control the rate of gas release into the bladder by the angular inertia of the arm around its pivot.

  • Patent number: 4790713
Abstract: A motorcycle carrier is conformed to extend on an incline from the back of a vehicle in its first position and to articulate to a vertical alignment at the back of the vehicle in its second position. This articulation is achieved by translating one end of a motorcycle supporting track within a vertically aligned channel, the track being linked to the other end of the channel by a pivotal link having a length selected to define the foregoing articulation. The ends of the track may include pivotal segments between which the wheels of the motorcycle may be clamped.
