Abstract: The subject invention relates to automotive lighting assemblies. Specifically, the subject invention relates to a device and method for retaining wires, which provide power to the light source, in the proper orientation. In an exemplary embodiment, a wire retaining cavity is formed by a molded rib on a cover and a molded retention feature with a hook portion on a light source retaining compartment. In this exemplary embodiment, the cover and retaining compartment are integrally connected to one another by a living hinge. The wire retaining cavity is formed once the cover is folded over the retaining cavity bringing the rib into close proximity of the wire retention feature and adjacent to the hook portion of the feature.
Abstract: An automobile lamp assembly including a movable glare shield which is moved into the portion of the beam of light produced by a lamp assembly that is associated with the foreground area, thereby reducing the illumination level in the foreground area. Abstract: A method for cleaning a heat exchanging coil in an air conditioning unit using a low-pressure cleaning system to remove foreign particles that have accumulated on the heat exchanging coil. The low-pressure cleaning system discharges air at a low pressure, high velocity, and a high volume in order to clean the heat exchanging coil. Further, the low-pressure cleaning system can inject a substance into the discharge air flow to aid in cleaning the heat exchanging coil.
Abstract: The present invention comprises a software system having a user-friendly navigational interface utilizing an hierarchical display (20) of business documents based upon a dominant-subordinate relationship between the documents. In one embodiment, the documents are related through the use of keys, which define a relationship between the dominant (81) and the subordinate documents (91). In conjunction with the selection of a specific document, the invention displays information related to that document which can be custom defined by the user. In one embodiment, each user can define a unique set of data to be displayed. The invention further provides a means by which the underlying data can be easily edited from the hierarchical display (20). The present invention also allows the creation of expressions (230, 231) that will alert the user to predetermined conditions.
Abstract: A tag having a reinforcible opening is disclosed. The tag includes first and second major surfaces. It further includes an adhesive layer affixed to one of the major surfaces and substantially covered by a removable liner material. The tag has two openings arranged such that when the liner material is removed and the tag is folded along a fold line the adhesive bonds the tag into a folded position wherein the openings are aligned to form a single continuous opening through the tag.
Abstract: A patient safety alerting system and methods for providing enhanced patient safety using a patient alerting system are provided. An illustrative patient safety alerting system comprises an output device comprising a set of indicators, each indicator displaying one of a plurality of indicator states, each of the indicator states indicating a level of compliance with patient safety procedures; a set of status lists, each status list corresponding to its respective indicator, wherein the displayed indicator state of the respective indicator corresponds to information in the respective status list, each status list provided for containing information regarding the status of a patient for a component or activity; a processing unit operatively connected to the output device for processing changes to the status lists and corresponding indicators; and an input device operatively connected to the processing unit and configured to interface with a user to allow the user to access information in any of the status lists.

Abstract: The subject invention relates to a method of molding an automotive front lamp assembly that prevents the formation of a sink on the reflector by cutting an area into an injection molding tool so that when the reflector is molded, a glare prevention feature is formed in approximately the same location as the sink would have been formed.
Abstract: A rolling shutter and a slat for use in a rolling shutter are provided. The slat comprises a first receptacle and a second receptacle, wherein each receptacle is c-shaped and adapted to receive a retention screw, and wherein each receptacle projects from one or more of interior surfaces of the shutter slat.
Abstract: An electrocardiography device and method that is able to obtain the electrocardiogram of a freely moving animal. The device and method utilizes at least two catheters to obtain the electrical signals from the heart of the animal being tested. The catheters are filled with an electrically-conductive, physiological solution and are used in combination with at least two test leads that are able to transfer the electrical signals from the animal to an ECG monitoring device. The device and method also allows for fluids to flow through the catheters to other devices such as a blood sampler controller and/or an infusion pump.

Abstract: An LED lamp assembly comprises a housing having a multi-faceted reflector positioned therein for reflecting light into a light beam. A LED carrier is positioned in front of the reflector and extends vertically from the top to the bottom of the reflector. A plurality of LEDs are positioned on the LED carrier and arranged and disposed to emit light directly on to the reflector, thereby creating the light beam. A light pipe is also positioned within the housing in front of the reflector and in front of the LED carrier. The light pipe extends vertically along the LED carrier from the top to the bottom of the reflector. Accordingly, the LED carrier and light pipe are positioned in the path of the light beam propagated from the reflector.
Abstract: A modular reactor system comprises a backplane connected to a computer and a thermal control unit. The backplane includes a plurality of seats for releasably holding a plurality of modules. Each module holds a reactor vessel that may be used to conduct experiments. A plurality of laboratory instruments, such as motors, switches, sensors and pumps are included within the backplane and on the reactor modules. These laboratory instruments are utilized to perform work on the contents of the reactor vessels when the modules holding the reactor vessels are positioned in the backplane. A computer is connected to the backplane and controls the laboratory instruments within the backplane and on the reactor modules positioned within the backplane. A thermal control unit provides a thermal control fluid that is delivered to the reactors in the reactor modules when the modules are properly seated in the backplane.
Abstract: Methods for reducing the number and/or size of gas bubbles in a material are disclosed. The disclosed methods involve subjecting materials to pressure for a period of time. The methods have been found to be useful in the preparation of dental composites and dental structures prepared from those composites. Materials produced using the disclosed methods can have enhanced structural and/or aesthetic features.
Abstract: Dental composite formulations containing an initiator and a multiacrylate compound are disclosed. The formulations lack methyl methacrylate, a volatile, irritating, and potentially hazardous material commonly found in dental formulations. The multiacrylate compound has at least three acrylate functionalities per molecule. The formulations cure to form a surface lacking an oxygen inhibition layer. The formulations can be used as dental sealants, dental coatings, and in fingernail/toenail repair applications.
Abstract: The subject invention relates to terminals that are utilized in bulb sockets for automotive lamp assemblies. The embodiments of the bulb sockets disclosed provide for superior alignment and stabilization of the bulb in the bulb socket so that proper contact is made between the terminals and the bulb without damaging the bulb or the terminals during insertion. The terminal may comprise, among other things, at least one alignment feature, which may include partial spheres, that allows for easy insertion into the bulb socket and substantially ensures proper alignment and positioning within the bulb socket so that a proper connection can be maintained with the bulb and terminal Sealing material may be used to cover wire attachment portions of the terminals and plate portions of the terminals may be used to prevent the sealing material from entering a bulb accepting portion of the socket.
