  • Patent number: 7442337
Abstract: A method of laminating a sheet or sheets to a substrate and a method of laminating a plurality of articles. The substrate is inserted into a press. The sheet is inserted into the press over the substrate. Liquid thermoset polymer is injected into the press. Heat and pressure are applied forcing the liquid thermoset polymer against the sheet and forcing the sheet against the substrate. The liquid thermoset polymer is allowed to cure under heat and pressure forming a cured silicone rubber sheet. The cured silicone rubber sheet is removed from the press. A plurality of articles may be laminated by laminating the second of the articles while the first article is cooling.

  • Patent number: 7429022
Abstract: A manhole collar for mounting in a manhole is defined by a tube with rigid strips shaped to form lobes welded around the upper edge with a bottom edge of each lobe for engaging the ground or other surface around the manhole. A support sleeve is mounted on the tube in a recessed notch at an angular location thereon defining a cylindrical receptacle to hold a post standing up from the manhole for a davit or the like. The sleeve extends partly into the tube and partly outwardly and on the outside is supported by one of the lobes and on the inside by a planar chordal gusset plate. The sleeve includes a cylindrical bushing and a clamping pin for clamping the post in the sleeve engaging through a hole in the sleeve against an outer surface of the cylindrical bushing so that threaded adjustment of the pin causes an end of the pin to press against the cylindrical bushing and divert the bushing inwardly.

  • Patent number: 7371711
Abstract: The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to the container or conveyor a mixture of a water-miscible silicone material and a water-miscible lubricant. The mixture can be applied in relatively low amounts and with relatively low or no water content, to provide thin, substantially non-dripping lubricating films. In contrast to dilute aqueous lubricants, the lubricants of the invention provide drier lubrication of the conveyors and containers, a cleaner conveyor line and reduced lubricant usage, thereby reducing waste, cleanup and disposal problems.

  • Patent number: 7373217
Abstract: Apparatus and method for slicing a food product having a non-uniform cross-sectional area. A laser line scanner scans the cut face of the food product. A line scan camera receives light reflected from the cut face of the food product. The line scan camera is positioned such that the line field of view of the line scan camera intersects the scanning line of the laser line scanner at the cut face of the food product. A controller determines an area of the cut face of the food product using the light reflected from the cut face of the food product and advances the food product to be cut by the cutting device by an amount such that a next slice of the food product cut by the cutting device will have a thickness such that the next slice will be of the predetermined weight based upon the area of the cut face.

  • Patent number: 7363875
Abstract: An overload indicator for a load supporting apparatus is arranged to bend during overloading of the apparatus, thereby visually indicating the overload to a user or observer. The indicator features a longitudinal member having a U-shaped cross section defining one central and two side portions. A series of slots extend into each side portion from a side opposite the central portion such that the member will bend concavely with respect to that side, moving opposite ends of the member closer together. The indicator is arranged to extend between connection points on a first member and a second load supporting member of the apparatus in order to bend in response to excessive loading of the second member. The bending moves the connection points of the two members closer together, thus bringing the load closer to the first member.

  • Patent number: 7361215
Abstract: A material and method for treating timber. The material comprises a preservative and a carrier. The carrier is selected such that it remains mobile within the wood and provides for migration of the preservative within the treated wood. By providing a carrier which is mobile within the wood, the timber has a ‘self healing’ effect wherein the carrier/preservative migrates to any freshly cut or exposed surface of the wood to thereby redistribute and treat such a surface within the preservative and hence maintain integrity of a treatment envelope surrounding the wood.

  • Patent number: 7343711
Abstract: A preferred embodiment adjustable door includes a bracket having a front and sides defining a cavity, and one of the sides includes a retaining member. A tapping plate fits within the cavity and is operatively connected to the adjustable door with the bracket. The tapping plate includes a first aperture and a second aperture in communication with and extending perpendicular to one another. The first aperture is proximate an end of the tapping plate and corresponds with the retaining member. The adjusting member fits within the second aperture of the tapping plate. The fastener is engaged by the retaining member of the bracket. The fastener extends through the first aperture into the second aperture and mates with the adjusting member. The adjusting member moves along the shaft of the fastener as the fastener is rotated, which moves the tapping relative to the fastener and the bracket.
