Upper and lower support arms are connected to the plates and extend transversely of the bearing axis. The support arms are tubes of rectangular cross-section which are engaged adjacent their ends by facing, U-shaped brackets having elastomeric linings. The support arms are connected to flanges of longitudinal beams forming part of the base and made of two channels. One support arm is welded at each end to a flange of a first channel which has surface engagement with a flange of a second channel.
Abstract: A carrier apparatus for use by fire fighters to carry fire hose, and to serve as a personnel carrier; a carrier body of flaccid material about five feet long has a bottom and side walls, and at one end there is an end wall, and portions of the side walls adjacent the end wall being perpendicular to the bottom and end wall. Handles and securing straps are provided. A continuous length of fire hose is placed in two side by side stacks, with a connecting portion from one stack to the other; a strap with hook and pile type fastener, such as sold under the trademark Velcro fastener extends around one stack and is released by force applied through the connecting portion of the fire hose.
Abstract: A liquid or powder material can be dispersed by the application of electrostatic fields. The phenomena, referred to as "electrodispersion" is the dispersion by an intense electric field of part of a static bed of liquid or powder into a stable cloud of rapidly moving particles, and the maintenance of a dynamic equilibrium between the static and dispersed phases. The density of the dispersed cloud of particles varies with a number of factors, including the field strength and the nature of the powder. The electrodeposition effect is employed to produce a uniform and durable coating of controlled thickness on the individual particles, by the generation of a vapor of the desired coating--typically a metal or semiconductor material--and allowing the vapor to permeate the dispersed particles. The electric field ensures that only the particles are coated, and the dispersed particles, having the same charge, repel each other, avoiding agglomeration.

Abstract: A curtain drawer arrangement comprises a curtain rail and a plurality of curtain runners and a motor-driven mechanism depending therefrom. The curtain rail is provided with a lead plate having a conductive lead line of a greater width and a conductive lead line of a smaller width. Brushes are disposed in the motor-driven mechanism and engage the lead line of a greater width. Another brush is disposed in the mechanism and engages the lead line of a smaller width. A collector is connected to a reversible motor. The motor-driven mechanism is also provided with tired wheels which rotate in response to the actuation of the reversible motor. A control panel for drawing or opening the curtain is connected with both the lead lines.
Abstract: Apparatus for introducing filtered, ionized air into a clean room comprises a HEPA filter unit and a metal ionizing grid unit supported in a frame, secured to the discharge face of the filter unit. A seal is provided between the filter and ionizing grid frame. The apparatus is supported by T-rails, and a seal is provided between the frame and the T-Rails.
Abstract: A dental care device for insertion within the mouth includes a flat, triangular support body, bristles extending from one side, and a pliable, resilient projection extending from the same side substantially parallel to the bristles. The projection is at a corner of the body and the bristles adjacent the projection are shorter than the projection, the height of the bristles increasing with distance from the projection.
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for detecting absence of a needle thread or a bobbin thread in a sewing machine. The device includes at least one piezoelectric element provided between a throat plate and a rotary hook of the sewing machine. The piezoelectric element is adapted for intermittent contact with one of the threads when the thread shifts from the center of the needle hole by engaging with the rotary hook fin, and for signalling its contact with the thread.
Abstract: A gas volume flow gauge is provided with apparatus to ionize the gas being discharged. The gauge has an adjusting valve and a float in a vertical gas passage to indicate the flow rate; an ionizing point is provided in the gas outlet passage, and is capacitively coupled to a conductor connected to an alternating current source. A grounded conductive ring surrounds the ionizing point.
Abstract: A noise level monitoring and indicating system includes plural microphones distributed about a classroom, bus, etc. and adapted to drive individual counters to indicate the number of times a minimum sound level has been exceeded by the signal from the associated microphone. Visual indicators are also provided to indicate the instantaneous noise status at selected microphones.
Abstract: A peristaltic pump comprising a pump housing wherein a hose is provided, leaving a hollow space surrounding the hose, while the ends of the hose are sealingly connected all around to the edge of a supply opening resp. discharge opening of the pump housing, and the pump housing being provided with means for supplying a medium to the hollow space, resp. discharging medium therefrom in order to exert pressure on the outer wall of the hose at desired points of time, whereby the hose adjacent the supply end for the material to be pumped is provided with a weakening.
Abstract: A conventional front end loader bucket has a horizontal bottom plate, an upper inclined plate and a curved joining plate between them; each of a pair of support arms is pivotally connected at one end to the inner side of the loader bucket, at the juncture of the upper plate and the joining plate, and at the other end pivotally supports a tine. The arm may be channel shaped, and the tine pivots to a stored position within the channel of the support arm, and tine support arm pivots to a stored position adjacent the top plate. The support arm may be straight, or may have an angled portion at the end which supports the tine.
