    Abstract: A single control water mixing valve assembly which includes a fixed and a movable ceramic plate mounted within a housing in contact with one another and which serve to control the flow of water from hot and cold inlet ports to an outlet port. Linear and rotary movement is transmitted from a lever through a bushing to the movable plate as the lever is turned on a radial axis within the bushing and rotated about the longitudinal axis of the lever. The fixed plate is spaced from the base and tubular resilient seals are positioned in the space and firmly held in place within the space by radial ribs. The lever is received in a channel in the bushing with the sides of the lever adjacent to the sides of the channel, so that rotation of the lever about its longitudinal axis transmits torque to the bushing which, in turn, transmits the torque to the movable plate.

    Abstract: A plunger assembly 42, which functions as a popup drain stopper, includes a one-piece plastic body 44 formed with a head 50 at an upper end thereof. A connector 48 is formed at a lower end of body 44. A dome-shaped decorative cap 52 is removably assembled at the upper end of head 50 and is supported by a dome-shaped structural grid 77 formed in the head. Projections 80 extend radially from head 50 and cooperate with an inwardly flared side wall 86 of cap 52 to retain the cap with the head and body 44. Assembly 42 is positioned within a drain assembly 12 which is coupled to a basin 10. Assembly 42 is controlled for movement by lever 62 to raise and lower head 50 relative to a drain opening 27. Head 50 seals opening 27 with a seal washer 56 in a lower position and allows water to flow from the basin in an upper position.

Knob 62 is assembled with insert 64 through dimples 164 and projections 168 to allow slippage of the knob on the insert upon the application of excessive force without destruction of elements of lockset 20.

    Abstract: An adaptor 16 is formed with a pair of cylinders 22 and 24 which are in axial alignment, of different diameters and extend from opposite sides thereof. One of the cylinders 22 and 24 fits in complementary fashion into one of a pair holes 14 and 12, respectively, to preclude any movement in a radially lateral direction of adaptor 16 relative to the axis of the hole. The other one of cylinders 22 and 24 fits, respectively, into a groove 44 formed in a face 42 of a guard collar 18 or into a cylindrical opening 36 of the collar. The cylinders 22 and 24 are joined by integral links 26, 28 and 30 so that the precluding of radially lateral movement of the cylinder 22 or 24 within its hole 14 or 12, respectively, prevents radial movement of collar 18 relative to the axis of the hole.

    Abstract: A fluid flow system (20) includes fluid inlet conduits for supplying fluid through a fluid flow path (86) as formed by a manifold (74) and a module (76). The fluid is directed through fluid flow path (86) to a flexible conduit (54) and to a fluid dispensing wand (36) whereat the fluid can be selectively dispensed in a stream or a spray. A linking passageway (102) is formed by manifold (74) and module (76) to couple selectively the pressure of a pressurized environment, such as atmospheric pressure, to fluid flow path (86). An umbrella valve (104) is located in linking passageway (102) and is responsive to the development of a negative pressure at the fluid supply and thereafter couples the pressure of the pressurized environment to fluid flow path (86). This action neutralizes the effects of the negative pressure and precludes the reverse flow of fluid within fluid flow system (20).

    Abstract: A door lockset 20 includes a front loaded cylinder lock 75 which is assembled with an insert 64 within a knob 62. Cylinder lock 75 includes a locking bar 104 which is biased toward a central opening 83 formed through a body 76 of the lock. A plug 80 is located within opening 83 and is rotatable therein. A removal key 108 is formed with a slot 240 which is alignable with a plug slot 109 when the key is inserted into a key slot 113 of the plug. Plug 80 is thereafter rotated within opening 83 to align locking bar 104 with plug slot 109 and key slot 240 whereby the bar moves into the slots under the biasing action of a spring 106. Cylinder lock 75 can then be removed from the front of insert 64 and knob 62. A reverse process is followed to load cylinder lock 75 into opening 238 and to retain the lock with insert 64.
