    Abstract: The green strength of synthetic elastomers is improved by forming interpolymers from at least one type of various synthetic elastomer forming monomers with an epoxy containing monomer having the formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 contains from 0 to 8 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 contains from 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Typical elastomer forming monomers include at least one conjugated diene having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, olefins having from 2 to 14 carbon atoms along with a diene having from 4 to 6 carbon atoms, and combinations thereof. The interpolymer preferably is blended with synthetic elastomers or natural rubber (cis-1,4-polyisoprene) and utilized for various industrial uses such as tire carcasses including radial truck tire carcasses. The green strength is further improved if a small amount of an epoxy cross-linking agent is utilized. Examples of suitable cross-linking agents include monoamines and polyamines, monoanhydrides and polyanhydrides, and monocarboxylic acids, as well as polycarboxylic acids.
