Abstract: A rotary drive sprinkler having a multiplicity of nozzles which can be selectively changed at any time. The nozzle assembly has an internal rotor member for bringing one of the nozzles into operation as the internal rotor is turned. A water flow can be directed from a rotor to a selected nozzle in a fixed circumferential row of nozzles to create a nozzle stream leaving the nozzle assembly, or a nozzle stream can be directed from a specific nozzle of a circumferential row of nozzles in an internal rotor to a single passage open to the exterior of the nozzle assembly.

Abstract: A protective shield formed of sheet material is provided for placing between the wood-to-concrete foundation interface of a building. A portion of the shield positions the lower edge of a substrate siding and a finish layer. A sealant is provided between the sheet material and the concrete foundation.
Abstract: An oscillatable nozzle sprinkler with operationally changeable nozzles from the top. One configuration consists of a multiple nozzle cylindrical sleeve which allows a desired nozzle for flow rate and trajectory to be rotationally selected while the sprinkler is operating. Another configuration allows individual nozzles to be inserted into the top of the sprinkler housing while the sprinkler is operating.
Abstract: An expandable fastener device for attaching tissue to bone and a surgical operating technique for using The fastener device includes a shaft which will pierce tissue and when rotated, will drill a hole in bone with a drill point to receive the fastener in bone. The device can be drilled in place and fixed in place by actuation of the device itself.

Abstract: A surgical instrument has a motor housing with a cylindrical member extending therefrom and has a pin projecting radially from the cylindrical member. A nose piece removably attached to the housing has a circular aperture which receives the cylindrical member and which has a channel within which the pin slides during attachment and removal. The nose piece includes a cantilevered arcuate spring arm that urges the pin along the channel toward a position at which the pin is wedged against a wall of the channel to force the nose piece into an operating engagement with the motor housing and retains the pin in the channel resisting detachment.

Abstract: An expandable fastener device for attaching tissue to bone and a surgical operating technique for using it. The fastener device includes a shaft which will pierce tissue and when rotated, will drill a hole in bone with a drill point to receive the fastener in bone. The device can be drilled in place and fixed in place by actuation of the device itself. The anchor porion of the fastener device remaining in the body when the shaft is sheared and removed, is made from a a bioabsorbable polymer material and an implantable grade titanium material or alloy thereof. The portion of the fastener that captures the body soft tissue (tendon or ligaments) is biodegradable and the portion anchored to the bone is the titanium material. Another embodiment constructs the component that captures the body soft tissue into a pedal-like integral disk where each pedal flexes to conform to the shape of the bone surface adjacent thereto.

Abstract: An alternating electric current integral pilot valve actuator and pilot valve. The magnetic flux core of the actuator is a short flux path through a "U" shaped magnetic material piece providing two pole pieces for a magnetic material valve member to be pulled against the two pole pieces which then completes the magnetic flux path, opens an integral pilot valve port and reduces the coil current to a lower level.
Abstract: A helicopter blade tracking system including an apparatus and method having a self-contained light unit on each blade; each light unit being of similar construction and matched in size and weight. Rings of light formed by the light units during blade rotation are observed by the operator during hover and blade angular position is changed to bring the rings of light into one multi-colored ring of light.
Abstract: An oscillating sprinkler head transmission for alternately driving an output shaft and sprinkler head nozzle to oscillate it with spring bias being provided to prevent the transmission from being placed in an operative position, where the sprinkler head is not oscillated.
Abstract: An adjustable arc spray nozzle assembly is set forth which includes a cylindrical housing member with an arc set flow control member coacting therewith to provide an adjustable arc of flow directed outwardly by a deflector. The adjustable arc of flow is achieved by a unique interaction between a radially spiraled outlet opening and an axially spiraled and sloped member. The configuration facilitates easy cleaning of the flow control area while the sprinkler is operating, and provides ease of manufacture and assembly.
Abstract: An I. V. stand is provided for (1) use by itself; (2) releasable use with a wheelchair providing for movement of its supporting wheels to provide only swiveling wheels; and (3) use with a gurney providing an adjustable arm attachment. The I. V. pole has an indicator for showing the position of a snubber, or attachment, mechanism used to contact the wheelchair. The I. V. stand has two castered forward wheels and two non-pivoted rear wheels with a castered fifth wheel located between the rear wheels for lifting the rear wheels off a floor when all castered wheels are desired on the I. V. stand.
Abstract: A transmission device having an input shaft and oscillating output gear with an oscillating connection therebetween. The oscillating connection comprising a pivoted gear cage with oppositely rotatable driving gears, the gear cage having a mechanism to pivot it to connect the input shaft and output gear alternately with the driving gears. The oscillating output gear having an adjustment to control the angle of oscillation. A liquid can be directed through the transmission to an oscillating nozzle.
Abstract: A surgical drilling instrument comprises a nose body attached to a power source, the nose body having a shaft support tube extending therefrom around a drive shaft with a cutter. The forward end of the shaft support tube has a bearing construction supporting the drive shaft. A water supply is directed into the annular space between the shaft support tube and the drive shaft, and is further directed over the bearing construction onto the cutter. This (1) aids in supporting the drive shaft; (2) cools the cutter; and (3) flushes the cutting area.

Abstract: A location monitoring system is provided having a radio frequency transmitter for a person or object and radio frequency receiver for someone to monitor movement of the person or object, the receiver sounding an alarm at a predetermined time after failure to receive a signal. The transmitter is made having an intermittent transmitted signal and the receiver is made having an off-timer to coordinate with the intermittent signal, the off times saving battery power. The radio frequency receiver has an electronic switching device controlled by the radio frequency transmitter for sounding an alarm. An antenna is located in part of the carrying strap of the transmitter. The radio frequency transmitter can have various devices for sounding the alarm.
Abstract: A putt practicing device having a body with an elongated shaped, a forwardly facing surface, a flat bottom surface for being placed on a flat putting surface, a flat surface on the top, elements for stretching either one strip of rubber, or two vertically aligned strips of rubber, just above the flat surface on the top of said elongated shaped body to place said stretched strips of rubber forwardly of the center portion of the forwardly facing surface and form a target area so that a golf ball striking the target area will be deflected away therefrom.
