  • Patent number: 4440374
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a resilient clip for supporting elongated articles such as cylindrical and ribbon-like electrical conductors, and the like. The invention disclosed includes a base member which may be secured to a support by an adhesive and/or a retaining fastener. The base has an integrally formed flexible arm extending upwardly therefrom which superimposes the exposed side of the base. The free end of the arm has a hinged connection and a pressure plate integrally formed therewith, with the hinged connection interposed between the end of the arm and the pressure plate. The pressure plate position when the clip is relaxed, normally is adjacent to and substantially parallel to the base. The hinged connection at the free end of the arm is formed by a reduction in the thickness of the material adjacent to where the arm attaches to the pressure plate.

  • Patent number: 4433452
Abstract: A one piece lubricious plastic cable guide and door stop for guiding a tensile stressed flexible cable-like member through a work piece aperture and then angularly behind the workpiece. The guide is self-retained in said aperture and includes a latch member for temporarily restraining the cable-like member against the tensile stress inducing device during assembly of the opposite end of the cable-like member with a hinged closure member. It is applicable to devices such as a horizontally hinged dryer door that is spring biased by a pair of said cable-like members and one or more coil springs.

  • Patent number: 4427257
Abstract: An insulator is provided for an electrical terminal assembly including a first, relatively fixed terminal member and a second relatively movable terminal member removably connectable with said first terminal member and having at least one wire affixed thereto. This insulator comprises an integrally formed member of insulating material including a tubular sleeve for removably surroundingly engaging the assembly comprising the first terminal member connected with the second terminal member. A first end of the tubular sleeve is substantially open for permitting slidable movement of the tubular sleeve into surrounding engagement with the terminal assembly. A second end of the tubular sleeve includes a passageway for permitting passage therethrough of the second terminal member with the wire affixed thereto. Hence, the wire may be affixed to the second terminal member independently of attachment of the insulator to the terminal assembly.

  • Patent number: 4406438
Abstract: The cable routing device as disclosed is integrally formed and includes at least one base and at least one cable guiding portion. The base includes a tongue extending from one end and a tool engageable portion at the other end. The tongue preferably has an enlarged end which is adapted to be driven behind the bottom edge of a piece of siding by a tool being struck against the tool engaging portion to thereby securely position the cable routing device in close proximity to the bottom edge of the piece of siding. Each device has a cable guiding portion which is generally U-shaped and which tapers in depth from the upper end towards the other end. The cable guiding portion is adapted to guide a cable in one of two substantially perpendicular positions by either positioning the cable proximate the bight of the U-shaped portion or by its engagement in notches in the upper edges of the sidewalls of the U-shaped guide portion.

  • Patent number: 4406033
Abstract: A multi-part fastener assembly for attachment of a carpet-like member to a support. The fastener is designed to minimize snagging and/or scraping-type of engagement with objects that come in contact therewith. The exposed fastener part is an annular member which has a radiussed outer edge from which a plurality of rigid projections extend. The projections are designed to be able to penetrate the carpet-like member and a radially extending flange of another fastener part and be folded to fixedly position the fastener relative to the carpet-like member. The radially extending flange has areas of reduced thickness to ease the projections therethrough and is deflected to create an annular mounding of the carpet-like member around the annular member to cooperate therewith in increasing the resistance of the fastener to snagging type of engagement.
